Do you genuinely enjoy working out? No one seems happy or pleased while doing it.
>>77599710Exercising is one of the few things that brings me a sense of competence and enthusiasm towards life. I feel grateful for being alive, for being healthy and I cherish the fact that my body is growing stronger and more capable, slowly, day by day.
The mindset of a slave acting from a place of insecurity driven by mass produced online hustle culture VS lifting makes me happy. So yes, I enjoy every rep, every PR, every post workout high.
i enjoy nothing anymore but i do it anyways
>>77599710I like the results but I hate working out now. Those gay fat dudes obsessed with 30+ set high volume (Greg Nuckols, any redditor) seem like they use the workout itself to compensate for issues in life. My theory on that comes from how all of them are fat but believe they're experts on bodybuilding and stand as priests of fitness since they're sticking to the "science," which actually means extrapolating from 2-3 meta-analyses with absolutely no physiological understanding since that would require an actual education.
I used to in the beginning, but around 5 years into it the enjoyment was gone. I managed to keep working out for another 10 years after that through discipline. Unfortunately after 15 years I stopped because I lift for women and became rich enough to have high SMV without gains.
I channel my frustrations into my workouts. I am unhappy in general.
>>77599766Same here.
>>77599710Of course I enjoy it. It's something that improves my physical body (as well as mental concentration, not to mention cardio improving mental acuity). As wxmen say, it's "self-care". Improving my health, increasing my strength and vitality... why would I not enjoy this process? Watching my performance increase as I push myself to be the best physical version of myself that I can.
I like just spacing out and listening to metal and kpop for 2 hours while lifting yes
>>77599710I always hate the start of a workout but once I’m like halfway through it feels amazing. I would have thought that the start would get more tolerable but that hasn’t been the case for me nearly a decade in.
>>77599784that's a combination of initial task inertia/friction being overcome along with endorphins kicking in
>>77599710I hate it, can't wait to get done to scarf afterI do it for guilt-free scarfingI eat clean but i eat a lot lot
Yes, and I enjoy almost everything that I do because I force myself to, or lie to myself, or imagine that I am in a scenario where it would be enjoyable. It is dumb but it works and my life is pretty great.
Yeah being strong is cool. I like seeing if I can pick up a heavier object each day. Plus if I don’t work out I feel like shit.
>>77599710Yes absolutely
>>77599710I hate being weak at all compared to anyone. But getting progress helps, so does mogging. I barely even lift other than to mog, but I still need better lays to stop going to the gym every week. Once I have the lats then I'll be able to show up to the gym right as school gets out to dress up like a powerlifter and hog the bench until they go to work then I know my work is done.
>>77599800There are gains to be had that gymratting for over an hour a day average do not garner
If you don't enjoy it then why do you do it? If you answer "women" you're subhuman btw
>>77599710sometimes yes, sometimes no. sometimes I'm excited to go then have a bad session and other times it's the exact opposite. No matter the outcome I just keep going.
>>77599710I don't get the excitement anymore but I set specific goals and it's still fun trying to chase them.
I'm cumming constantly while I'm at the gym. It's like a trance. Weights cardio it doesn't matter. Once you lock in there's nothing like it. Modern gyms even look like a rave.
>>77599710Yup, pretty enjoyable experience, its probably the highlight of my day
Fuck yeah. Physically exerting yourself feels good AF. There's far too little "play" (in the physical sense) in the average adult life.
>>77599710YesI've found that I like doing it my way and tend to enjoy myself a lot less doing someone else's routine
>when that banger among bangers in your shuffle repeat all workout playlist comes on 45 mins into the session
>>77599710it was a painful chore for a long time, and it's always a pain to lift after a long break, but i genuinely love working out and really look forward to it. i used to hate training legs and skipped them for several years, but i recently got into ballet so i've reintroduced leg training to help with that. now that i have a "reason" to train legs, i enjoy doing them. but most importantly, i've achieved my goal body and weight and i see lifting and dieting as a necessary requirement to maintain that. because i can visibly see the result of training and dieting properly, i don't see it as a chore but sort of part of my identity.
>>77600000>but i recently got into ballettits or gtfo
>>77599710I like how it makes me feel and I like getting a pump and feeling good about myself. Daylight savings makes it a bit more of a nuisance bc it's pitch black when I get out but I still like it. I've also started enjoying running since I moved into my city. I run one giant loop I mapped instead of laps. Fuck treadmills.>>77599961this too
>>77599710yea i like it. it makes me feel like when i was young and played sports til exhaustion
>>77599962and then the whole gym starts dancing to "every day im shuffling" the best
>>77599710YesI hate resting between sets in fact
>>77599710It’s kind of like going to church or reading the Bible or praying a rosary. I don’t so much love the act of doing it, but I love how it makes me feel when I’m done and I love growing stronger (physically and spiritually).
>>77599710>Do you genuinely enjoy working out?Yeah, generally. Sometimes I don't want to do it, but then when I start I'm glad I did. It feels good to do something challenging and overcome it. Even if you have a bad workout, at least you didn't just sit on your arse like a dosser.>No one seems happy or pleasedBecause they're locked in. How often do you see any athlete laughing and giggling like a little girl? Rarely. And when they do, they either just won or they're about to get their shit pushed in because they're not paying attention. Just because someone isn't smiling every second of a workout doesn't mean they're not into it.
>>77599773>>77599784>>77599829>>77599952>>77599961>>77599957>>77600000>>77600023>>77600054>>77600073You are lying to yourself and it's a mental illness. It does not physically feel good, it stresses your body and makes you age faster.
>>77599843So that im not complaining about how my health later on.
>>77600082hair transplant status?
>>77600140completed
Not really, I stopped after 6 years and feel much better. Being a slave to the gym is not a way to live.
>>77600140just look at his older videos and compare the hairline lmao
>>77599710going through a break up rn and the only reason I'm getting out of bed in the morning is to go to the gym or go to judo
>>77599710i don't like doing it, but it's pretty neat to lift in general. i feel accomplished when completing a hard set and i feel like a better and strong person. i look forward to how i'll look and feel six months later
>>77599710I stopped taking most of my medications which were extensive. If I don't work out, I become anxious and irritable within three days. Training makes me calm under stress, helps me focus, and makes me feel more in control of my life. I think of it more as a spiritual practice than a hobby.
>>77599710No. The results are good but the act of working out is boring and feels like a chore. I reckon if there was a way to get the same 1 hour workout in 1 second then almost everyone would do the 1 second workout.
>>77600082don't care. also completely false lmao. people who don't strength train degenerate much earlier than people who do.
>>77599710>Do you genuinely enjoy working out?I do. I'm autistic so I enjoy the constant tweaking, experimentation, progress and numbers that come with training. And every time I work out, I feel like I'm increasing my STR stats.
yeah it's fun
>>77599710ya, why would I do it almost every day if I didn't
>>77599710Genuinely look forward to my gym days. I can't go this week due to some medical stuff, feel pretty bummed out.
>>77600082nah I like it its fun
I almost enjoy it more than eating and fapping.
>>77599710It gives me a small sense of accomplishment when I finish my semi-daily workout, and I'm a bit pissed if something stops me from doing it.If you set a serious goal to exercise regularly (preferably daily) for an entire month, after a couple of weeks in, the habit forms and you become "addicted" in a way. After a month you will also notice some results that will make you want more. The days I don't work out my body feels weird, like it's telling me something's missing. Also, going to the pool to swim is nice since I get to see and maybe talk to cuties wearing swimsuits.
>>77600082you can become addicted to some stressorseither during the challenge or after the challenge it can feel good.
>>77599710What I don't like is organizing everything that goes along with it, because I'm a boomer, and if I don't eat right, don't drink enough, and don't warm up thoroughly I'll just pull a muscle and be out of commission for eight weeks, or my strength will be completely gone. So when I know a lifting day is coming up I have mixed feelings because I know I have to prepare for it first. It's like throwing a big party at your house. You're looking forward to the party, but just the thought of all the preparations and cleanup is enough to make you dread it.

>>77599710Yes.If the goal of the workout itself becomes expending maximum effort, and enduring as much physical discomfort as you are able to, that becomes enjoyable at one point. The workout is not a means to an end, it's not a barrier you have to cross through that gives you the goal you are really after. If the workout itself is the goal, then you get what you want from it directly. Getting what you want feels good. The ability to endure certain levels of pain and strain is an incredibly comfortable and peaceful experience. Just having that ability. It's very calm. It's thrilling afterward, and you only get that enjoyable thrill if you push through/beyond a level that is around your limit. You can't cheat your way into that feeling.
Yes especially as i get older and quickly accepted that ultimately no one wants to be insanely strong or a mass monster on drugs you just want some muscle and to be flexible as possible becuase everyone around you is starting to "get old" becuase they dont maintain the body instead of just happening to be that age , my ultimate goal is to be as strong and moving like the average 30 year old when im 70 how amazing would that be not a gym bro athlete 30 year old the AVERAGE everyday 30 year old while being twice the age.I recently moved gyms and they have a belt squat something I've never used but always wanted to and im excited to do my leg workout to use it.
>>77599710my body gets mutated and fucked up unless I do it
>>77599710My training is stress-free and adapts perfectly to my schedule (and not the other way around, which is very common for people into fitness which also causes them a great amount of problems). I enjoyed it at the beginning as you always do with new things that you try for the first time and then it just became a habit, an essential part of my routine, a week without a single workout feels wasted and incomplete to me, I train exclusively in the open at the calisthenics park so I look forward to each workout with great pleasure. The sun is caressing my skin, birds are singing, it's green all around you, it has a very relaxing and meditative effect on me (despite the fact that you are excerting strength and stressing your body more than usual), for a moment you can literally forget about everything else, it doesn't matter what problems you have or what thoughts you had, here and right now it's you and your workout, nothing else matters.
>>77599710I only really workout to go look at the women
>>77599710Of course! A good beat in the background, hyped to attempt a PR or trying a new exercise, the joy of simply moving and using my body and being focused and in the moment. What’s not to like?
>>77599710Not really. I just go for the girls. I like it when they look at me and mire my lifts. For the first time in a long time I feel like I belong in the world when they look at me and for this reason alone I go to the gym. I like it there. This is my confession.
>>77600124Im sure there's hundreds of physical activities to pick from you should be able to enjoy a few of them at least
>>77601378I do other physical activities. I ride a bike, hike, and play tennis. Some of us lift and play sports you know.
>>77601306you're a fucking machine. like you're a LLM. why the fuck would you fill out a captcha to just regurgitate a machine? what's wrong with you? did you not connect with other people your age when you were growing up or something? did you start speaking later than other kids?
>>77600082Bait or retarded?Yes of course too much exercise is bad for you, too much anything is bad for you. In moderation, exercise is one of the best things you can do to prolong your lifespan (alongside diet of course)
>>77599710You dont enjoy lifting?
>>77600082Geg
>>77599710only when the numbers go up. if the numbers go down my week is ruined.
>>77599710Nah it's cool. Some days I do not enjoy anticipation of Having To Work Out or a an exercise that doesn't feel regular yet looks like a bigger task in my head than it really is. This is solved 9/10 times with basic discipline to start anyway, getting pumped, and a sense of accomplishment with dopamine after. On the 1/10 times this doesn't work I do what I can but don't beat myself up about it. There are many chores and responsibilities in life. Most of them you won't choose as a preference. Some of them can suck pretty bad and require grit. Lifting, exercise, health is not one of these items in life. I mean, it can be, but imo it is something you should do, you should learn to enjoy, and if you don't enjoy it you should keep trying things until you do.
>>77599710DO you genuinely want to have a discussion about it?Or are you one of the depressing blackpilling OPs that has been popping up over the past few years as 4chan has been dying because you're contracted to speed up the enshittification of everything?
>>77599710>No one seems happy or pleased while doing it.I see that you aren't very deep into fitness.
>>77600155I'm sure you're an organic /fit/ user.Absolutely.
