I love it but it's probably not the best distro for running virtual machines. Lots of setting up involved, you need to convert your setup to multilib (default is 64bit only), in order to even begin building VB, so that's a pain in the ass. But everything works great if you know what you are doing.

If you like tinkering and the nostalgia factor of something that feels kinda like old school linux it's a pretty cool distro. With the hindsight of having tried several distros, I'd say Gentoo is better though.

i'm way more productive with a wm than a de. sure, it takes some time to set up but as long as you arent going overkill on the ricing it can be done in a day with no prior experience. albeit, there is some upfront knowledge/experience to account for but it's easier than trying to force gnome or kde to tile properly and then the inevitable extension breakages. not to mention the annoyance of getting windows or mac to behave this way. hyprland is nice because a lot of the "ricing" is baked in so not much for configuring. i'd also be happy with sway. i usually disable all animations so sway would be very nice.

to do the latter steps, you will need to create a symbol link to the files like this

ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.avail/70-force-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/
ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.avail/70-yes-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/


After you do any of the stuff mentioned, log out and back into your linux system to check if bitmaps were activated.
