I found an old Dell Optiplex the other day. Was thinking about turning it into a server, but I'm not sure if that's what I wanna do with it. I was thinking about just upgrading it into a budget gaming PC, or just a PC in general, but it kinda feels like a waste because I wouldn't use Windows (despite the 3 windows keys I found for it). I also don't NEED a desktop in general, since I have a nice setup with my MacBook and another monitor. I also just generally have limited space. What should I do with it?

>>100143093>What should I do with it?donate it to someone who can use it

>>100143093throw a 4+ TB hard drive in there, install Jellyfin+Radar+Sonarr+Prowlarr+Qbittorrent and enjoy your automated personal pirated media server/NAS.

i got a old dell with a 2nd gen i5, 4gb ram and a 8tb hdd that makes for a good NAS, dont think it has much power for anything past basic stuff like web browsing tho
>>100143565Yes
>>100143386This is what I was thinking about doing. Seems like the best bet. I'll probably just install Debian on it and use it as a file server and media player
>>100143386>>100143675i did exactly that with a lenovo thinkcentre machine, best thing you can do with it
>>100143675You can do all that and install ps2 emulator too
>>100143093I put Batocera to an Optiplex. Except for the fact that it has Display Ports instead of HDMI, It's fun to have a retromachine there, Batocera now supports flatpaks also, so you can install firefox and browse too.
>>100143343this meme doesn't work with dell computers. Companies throw them in the trash like they're used condoms
