What's your plan for when picrel drops and destroys 100 million jobs?
You're not going to compete with proto-AGI as a run of the mill midwit codecel, right?
>>
>>100146728
Riot.
>>
>>100146728
get a real job, a trade that requires being at a physical location. I'll be dead by the time AI robots can do those jobs
>>
>>100146728
Kill myself i guess holy shit
>>
>>100146728
It will be a massive disappointment.
>>
>>100146728
Be with the other 7.9bn who gets 5-50% more productivity, yes?
>>
>>100146756
desu, I predict a lot of not so peaceful protests if it lives up to the hype.
>>
>>100146786
GPT5 maybe but AI will do the thing OP says sooner rather than later. 100M are likely too few even.
>>
>>100146728
Already made it, so I'll just live off passive income from my existing capital.
>>
>>100146728
I'm probably going to see how well it can do smut and try its hand at a succubus maid scene.

>What's your plan for when picrel drops and destroys 100 million jobs?
lmfao. The question is what are all a.i.fags gonna do when they get btfo because this shit gets shut down.
>>
>>100146728
AGI was solved years ago
you just tell the llm that it's AGI.
>>
>>100148013
Who's going to shut it down? You? You're going to go and make the US gov/corps stop? Then what of Russia? China? UAE?
Everyone knows how to create modern AI now, there's no going back.
>>
Only 2 more weeks till it's over bros
>>
idc about coding just tell me when you can put it inside a robot and I can have my AI robo wife
>>
>>100146728
Less than a few hundreds of people in the world can do what i can and there is near 0 training data on it, I'm safe for a good while.
By the time it catches up i'll do things only a dozen people can.
By the time it catches up the world will have changed so much i will not care and i will probably do things no ai can ever do that's intrinsically tied to the human experience.
>>
I think OpenAI is losing the AI race. Plenty of models have caught up and OpenAI hasn’t released anything this year. We are almost in May ffs. I’m sure Meta and Claude will easily catch up to whatever GPT-5 has to offer. And Meta will be free.
>>
>>100146728
Who are they going to sell shit to if no one has jobs and money?
>>
>>100146728
imagine being replaced by keyboard autocomplete kek
you people never had a real job to begin with
>>
>>100151288
sucking 4 cocks at the same time is not a job

neither 6 or 8
>>
>>100152808
What about 9 cocks?
>>

I'm looking forward to the war, anon. We need a good war. A real one.
>>
>>100146728
Wait for the same exact thread that will be made for gpt-6.
>>
>>100151901
governments and people who are already rich
the value of human labor will drop so low, we'll be living like serfs for food and protection
>>
>>100150757
sex with ai will be against the law if altman has his way
>>
>>100153701
The "war" will just be AI drones dropping bombs on you while you LARP as a soldier in 1940 with your gunz.
>>
>>100146936
>two more weeks
>five years away
>ten years away
>maybe within the next twenty years
the time date for the happening just keeps getting pushed down the road.

I'm a blue collar chad so not my problem.
>>
>>100155975
>hey ChatGPT, how do I fix this shit'
>*reveals that closely guarded trade secret you won't even tell your poor apprentice*
oh it'll be your problem kek
>>
>>100156053
>He thinks the customer is going to open his own machine to fix it
You've never worked blue collar I see. Users are irrationally hands off even for things that already have YouTube videos.

I've yet to see these tin cans even attempt to perform a standard repair job even in a controlled environment.
So as I said, not my problem.
>>
>>100146728
If it takes GPT5 to make my managers realise my job is currently 90% fixing their incompetence and hybris…
I doubt that.
>>
>>100156132
I've yet to see GPT-4 not spit out non-trivial, non-retarded code. So I guess these things will never improve and it's nobody's problem! just ignore the daily research breakthroughs in every facet of AI and robotics I'm sure it's just a fad :^)
>>
>>100146728
>What's your plan
It's called a retirement plan.
AGI won't take over the world overnight. I'll be 40, at the very least, when it'll happen.
I already own a home. I'm owed a military pension.
I have no intention to become a 80yo husk in a retirement home. So dying at 60~70 when inflation fucks my pension over is acceptable.
I'll do just fine.
>>
>>100156167
If you think software work is similar to the logistical issues that blue collar work face then you are truly retarded. Even getting to the object you are tasked to repair is a lot more complicated. Not to mention identifying and repairing the issue which often deviate from standard practice. The amount of factors it has to take into account are many times more than coding.
One day it will happen, but it is so far into the future that I don't care.
>>
>>100156167
GPT-4 is arguably already early AGI (not the public version they give the peasants), and the history books will characterize it as such. If the figure robot demonstration is to be believed, it can already reason about the real world and perform tasks when embodied.
Sora is already far beyond anything anyone else achieved even as Google, Meta, Anthropic, etc play catchup with their models and are now just on the heals of GPT-4 which is over a year old now. OpenAI is way ahead of everyone else and just holding things back.
>>
>>100151315
do you think they can just make and release a new chatgpt generation every 6 months???
don't be absurd, this takes time
>>
>>100146728
i cant wait to talk to this thing holy shit
>>
>>100146728
It will be the time when the gov send you money every month and you only need to do some simple job like waiter, tourist guide, etc., just to have something to do. You shall love it. Only people with higher education is needed to do "real" works, like R&D, teaching, etc.
>>
>>100159112
>waiter
>tourist guide
heh, more like a social worker with absolute miminim pay who does things like
>picking up trash
>working on farm
>mining
>roadwork

easy and dignified jobs will be for the privileged
>>
>>100146728
I have lived to my mid thirties with pretty much zero difficulty, doing the absolute bare minimum the entire time. My biggest mistakes in life being getting a bit over a passing grade in a few times.
I have had the same tech job for almost 13 years, putting in about 4-8 hours of actual work a week.
I have literally just waited and hoped for the tiniest of tiny excuses to kill myself since I was 10 years old. If AI becomes that excuse, I will be very grateful.
>>
>>100146728
I will redeem the sneedful sar
>>
>>100159280
Christ, anon, just fucking do it if that's all you're bringing to the table.
>>
>>100146728
By the time that happens, I and everyone else who is currently alive will be long gone.
>>
>>100159840
Table, what table?
I don't owe anybody anything. I have taken care of myself since I was 18. I have no debts, monetary or otherwise.
I would never have chosen to be alive, but here I am. Killing myself for no reason is more trouble than it's worth right now, seeing as I have no good methods available.
>>
>>100160048
Fuck off, if you really were all that you'd do it already
>>
>>100146728
Reminder that GPT-5 drops on 29 April
>>
>>100155464
This but in reverse
>>
>>100146895
The only downside from this is not that you're probably right as opposed to that faggot OP, but that it won't increase wages along with productivity.
>>
>>100162787
businesses are looking for any excuse not to hire you.
people are expensive, if they can get 80% of the result with 1/1000th of the cost, even if they have to get someone to modify it another 10% or so to make it passable, they will.
also, take a team of 10 SWEs, if one programmer is 50% more productive from AI, then they only need 6 to do the same work, and they can be pickier on talent. that's 3 or 4 programmers out of a job. permanently. twice as productive? you do the math.
you can expect wages to fall and keep falling in any field where you use a computer. that's in the best case scenario where progress is incremental from here (it's not).
>>
my job will be testing this shit and making sure it meets all current requirements compared to an actual person.
so im ok as i shift from large company to smaller and lie on cv about my abilities and experience.
sooooo ok i guess
>>
>>100146728
why would chatty autocomplete replace me?
