Allsop fabric on gel mouse pad that I have had for 20+ years. Back when I switched from ball mouse to optical I went through a few mousepads because the reflectiveness would mess with the optical sensor. This one was advertised to work well with an optical mouse and it did not disappoint. I'll probably use this one til I die and I'm afraid to see what it looks like under UV light.
About 2 years ago I bought one of those anime mousepads with tits as a wrist rest but I only used it for about a week before I got tired of it.

I don't know, it's so big I question if it is my desk and/or a mousepad.

Mine is made of wood and it's integrated into my desk.

It's my desktop.
>>
This served me well for 6 years, just got a fresh replacement. I'll try not to leave cold drinks on it this time, the condensation really fucks it up aesthetically
>>
been using the same steel series one for like 10 years its all fucked up now

I use a painted desk too - very little friction but I hate the sound it makes.

No, why the fuck would I need a mousepad when I have a perfectly good table?
>>
>>100160977
You'll ruin the table over time
>>
>>100160977
Less friction on the mousepad so using the mouse feels smoother and nicer. It's cheap as fuck, the real question is why you wouldn't have one.
>>
>>100160990
I had my precious table for 15 years with no signs of wear. Do you use sandpaper for mouse feet?
>>100160998
I tried a couple and didn't see any improvement. They are just harder to clean and make my mouse a tad higher.

Why would I paint solid wood? May as well just get a laminate desk and save some cash.

>>100160998
>friction
Maybe if you're a gaymer, to me a mousepad is just something you inevitably have to wash that never comes out the same again and an unnecessary thing to clutter my desk.
>less is more

Wouldn't mind a good deskpad though, I've seen some decent ones, and it's more symmetrical.
>>
I use a special surface engineered to have optimal properties that ensure perfect tracking with mouse optics along with low contact for minimal resistance.

My boom headshots are always pixel perfect and if a single dust particle gets in the way of optimal gaming, I can hear that particle scream and beg for mercy because my mouse surface doesn't quarter squatters.

I mouse a level above all of you. Though >>100160016 it at least stepping in the right direction.
>>
>>100158472
My desk is covered in cloth. I have no need of a "mouse pad".
>>
>>100161408
I hope that you wash that cloth regularly.
>>
>>100160239
that's outrageous
why would you ever need a mouse mat that takes up more real estate than your bloody keyboard?
>>
>>100161765
Make a mousepad with a keyboard printed on it.
Each printed key also has a QR code.
Add a button to the mouse that scans the QR code.
Send the QR code to the OS.
OS reads the QR code to see which key you have selected and enters that character for you.
Throw away your bloody keyboard, because you don't need it anymore.

It's not a smooth one, so no issue with dust or whatever issues other have.
>replace mousepad every month
No issue after 6 years of lots of usage. I also use metal tips on my wacom tablet, no issue there either.
>>
>>100161765
Lets me position my mouse right under my keyboard when I feel like it, protects my desk from my peripherals and my wrists/hands/forearms/elbows from my desk. It's just a nice thicc spongy fabric. I personally can't think of a good reason not to have it.
