Honest opinion about it?
Using it for a university project and it's annoying.
>>
sucks but suckes less than GTK

Just been doing a project with Qt (a medical device).
Qt ain't great, but it works. Not too many surprises.
>>
>>100165220
C++ or Python?
Im working with C++
>>
>>100165276
C++. Once I got the CMake build going, everything's been pretty easy. (The difficult bits aren't to do with Qt and are totally to do with weird and underdocumented hardware modules.)
>>
its not really the prettiest out there but definitely gets the job done.

What university is teaching Qt?
>>
>>100165047
Dogshit. Consider the following: Qt business model is selling support and proprietary pieces. It's designed to fail.

Thirdie uni

When will it fail? Two more years?

Any minute now, you'll see

Nobody is going to pay you for webshitting zoom zoom. Learn to love it. Or eat the tide pods
>>
>>100165047
I'm also using it for a uni project but with Python and have found it fairly good. Are you using QtWidgets or QtQuick?

c++ is the white man's language. jeets were shitting themselves when maven was exposed as a trash

Cutie

I like using the Widgets but I also think something like ImGUI is just inherently easier.
>>
>>100166612
Immediate mode GUIs are a fucking joke. If you try to use them for anything outside of a game or "creative" type industries (think video editing or /dmp/ topics) you'll get laughed out of the room. Culture settings, accessibility settings, interop with native frameworks, non-existent GPU support, initiating your program from a terminal, and UI automation are all real world problems that I've dealt with on desktop programs and they would all be a nightmare with immediate mode problems.

I actually don't like the dichotomy of retained-immediate mode UIs since at their lowest level retained GUIs still have to kind of act like immediate. But its the language the industry adopted.

What the hell do you mean by that?

win32 is better

>>100165047
Qt Widgets is the best cross-platform framework of its kind for creating native "forms-based" apps, but that's only because the competition isn't great.
>>
>>100166711
You're naming things that have nothing to do with Immediate Mode GUIs as a concept though, just the implementations available.

It's a fair criticism, but it's because as abandoned technology they're still way behind.
>>
>>100165047
when I tried to learn it I didn't find pajeets on youtube
>>
>>100165047
It's the best of a bunch of shitty options.
