>>100166020pajeet zoomer detected. That's a question like >"is tech a good job???"There's a hundred different kinds of "tech conferences" from networking, to organizations, to skiddie shit like Defcon, to just straight up job fairs. Most tech conferences are just sales pitches. Either for the company hosting it, or a sales pitch for some dumbass initiative. It's all just dick waving and trying to shmooze with people you think will help your career. It's useful for getting exposed to the kinds of jackasses that you'll see during a work day.

>>100166020>ever been to a tech conference?yes>how was it?boring. full of real life spam. Sales people would walk up to me and I had to be an asshole to ad-block them.

I went to a couple conference/conventions. I went to Shmoocon and the first talk was a fed honey pot to use a TOR browser extension. Most people were more interested in hanging out at the bar and chit-chatting rather than learning. It was a giant waste of money and time to be honest with you. Lots of faggots and troons. I think conferences are mostly pissing contests.
