4k is a meme

Last time I checked (when I bought a new screen), actual hi-DPI displays were disappearing. 4K screens were just bigger screens with slightly higher DPI than normal screens.

1080p + 8gb ram + 256gb is truly all you need

I'm curious how you got to connect a RTX4070Super to a CRT monitor?

I'm doing manga scanlation, and it's a lot easier with a 4k monitor. I can basically have four windows open and visible at the same time and work. Even better than using multiple screens.

Why did things go so wrong? GTX 760 was a 1080p card and it cost $249 MSRP. RTX 4070 SUPER is $599 MSRP.

My 4k 32 inches screen is cheap though, basically the cheapest one you can get. But for the stuff I do and work with, it's perfect.
Granted I bought it for stuff like this and work (and trading, though it hasn't been a lot of that lately).

Did you miss the whole crypto and later AI boom or something? COVID and supply shortage didn't help either.
Soon the craze is over and the prices are going to dump hard. Graphics cards are most likely going to be the next in line of things dumping in price hard after cars and phones. It's not something you need to buy often, and you can avoid buying it for years if you don't need it right away.

I find it easier to use poricom or a similar program than to upload image by image to google lens.

I like how good google lens has gotten, it's even able to recognize most handwritten text now. For use in scanlation, where you don't work in bulk, google lens is fine. The only dumb thing is that once in a while you need to rearrange the lines, it orders then after where they are horisontally and not vertically, which is a stupid mistake.
