If you do need to login, get an extension like "cookies.txt" and just copy your youtube cookie to a file and yt-dlp has an option for reading cookies from a file.

You do realize you can just create and manipulate a config file, right? I'm a huge retard myself but I use one. For example mine is

I comment out whatever I'm not using or add comments for anything I want to save to remind me later.

at least with youtube-dl the package manager version wouldn't get updated as often, which was a pain, because that was back when youtube was fighting it, when it was eventually kill I just continued to use pip for yt-dlp.
