>>100365928Im pretty sure this move will hurt the US more than the Chinese. I'm all for it btw.

>>100366157China has even more of an incentive to develop domestic solutions. In the short term intel, Qualcomm and novideo lose a market of around 1 billion people. In the long term China will export products containing these new domestic solutions to other countries, leading to western manufacturers losing even more market share. Just want to chip in that huawei and xiaomi phones are pretty popular in Europe. I fact I'm using one right now. The "west" no longer has the power to meaningfully control other countries using sanctions, since our lead in many technologies just is not that significant anymore. It's just reverse protecionism at this point. Just look at russia, we just made them self sufficient within two years.
>>100365928This time for real, Brandon would never lie to us.

>>100366317Biden didn't want rice farmers to start manufacturing things. I hope America has nothing to sell to the rest of the world, they are over priced.
>>100366420Same, America needs a good reality check on its ability to project power. At least their software sector is dominant. But the moment FAGMAN loses his influence the US economy will be in deep trouble.
>>100365928first you issue blanket bans, then quietly at around the same time you use regulations to provide exclusions for favoured friendslooks like some of those exceptions are gone now
>>100366317Based. Fuck (((America))) and fuck the (((the west))).
>>100365928meduca rabu
>>100366063yes, that's how chinese cartoons are filmed before being put through the cartoonish filter
>>100365928Nope, after the Huawei bans went into effect, companies could apply for exemptions. Intel got an exemption to sell x86 chips to Huawei, and AMD did not, which was a source of much butthurt for AMD (and profit for Intel).Qualcomm as well.
>>100366317For years now, there have been moves in analog chips and microcontrollers where companies are shifting to domestic suppliers of RISC-V designs ahead of possible ARM chip controls.
