Hmm that's a good question, let me think about it and I'll get back to you

here's an idea: glare full-size
>>

>9 kg keyboard
>>
>>101298141
I'd buy it
>>

Lmao my 60% still gonna be more expensive than the TKL
>>
>>101298077
cute numpad
>>
>>101298247
I mean glare is mostly made of brass so it's ok, it's a crazy piece of shit made for crazy people

Just ordered mx purple from geon, what am I in for? and any opinion for mx orange?
>>
>>101298817
>mx purple
Better browns based from what people are saying
>>
>>101298817
Fuck it, I also ordered 90 mx orange for collection sake
>>101299157
Nice, I've never tried brown myself
>>

>>
stab tuning makes me want to kms
>>
>>101299815
yes it's the worst
>>
>>101299815
Use cherry stabs, They are much easier to tune due to the huge amount of moving room of the stem and the housing
>>
>>101300081
it's cherry stabs that are making me want to die right now
>>
>>101300093
How the fuck?
1. grind the edge of the wires
2. balance the wires
3. cut off the stem legs
4. put some 205 on the housing
5. put some dielectric grease on the end of the wires

Somewhat related to the thread, I still have this Logitech K300 keyboard but it has been getting worse the last couple of years (certain keys becoming less responsive and needing to be pressed hard)

I am looking for a compact keyboard just like it (so all keys of most standard keyboards but the middle ones tetrised in such a way you save space) AND one that's wired (or can use a USB cable to be powered from the computer), for whatever reason it seems I can only find ones that are wireless
>>
>>101300135
generally speaking i get them to be pretty good but then after a week or two they start ticking again

Got my first mechanical keyboard
I'll use it for a year to figure out what I like before getting a custom one
>>
>mx cherry brown switch sticking
I wish I never fell for this bullshit meme. membranes are much more durable.
>>
Bought a Keychron K10 and I hate it. The keys are just a little bit smaller then I would expect them to be and the switches are so sensitive that if I just rest my hand on the keyboard in the wrong way it will trigger the keys to press (they trigger when they're down about halfway, before the click sounds out).
>>
God I bought a chinkshit bridge 75 and I regret it so much. I'm gonna assemble my own now. Can someone pick some parts for many? Preferably 70-75% layout. Any parts and I'll buy it
>>
>>101298817
>>101299298
Fuck it again, just ordered 110 mx nixies again
I just can't stop myself today lol
>>
>>101301567
MX browns are not good. Widely known fact
>>
>>101302221
Fair. Are there any like it that don't suck when I swap all my key switches? I only bought the browns because they were the ones that felt closest to a membrane.
>>
>>101302310
If you aren't opposed to a heavier tactility, then Boba switches are the ones to go for still. They're a bit more binary but they're pretty good. If you want a more silent version, get the Boba U4. The U4t is the louder one.
>>
>>101302221
Works on my keyboard.
>>
>>101302124
what kind of switches does it have? Is the k10 not hotswappable?

Reminder it's not a possibility of keycap breakage, but your keycaps WILL break if you replace them. These are the Glarses switches that he didn't disclose (and lied) how these have the nubs that are meant for industrial use where keycaps aren't meant to be pulled out. Never trust black content creators when they shill you FOMO shit. You need a stem trimmer if you want to hotswap.
>>
I bought a 60 to force me to use proper vim controls
>>
>>101301567
huh? my mx browns worked faultlessly daily driven for 8 years until the E key started to occasionally drop presses
>>
>>101304256
you could have just unbound half the keys on your full size and had a de facto 60 to learn on
>>
>>101300135

>wipe off all the lube
>lay it on my iphone
>seems to maybe tick on one side
>twist it gently
>seems to maybe tick on the other side
>twist it back even more gently
>seems to tick more than before the other way
>repeat until it ticks almost imperceptibly on one side only
>insert carefully in stab housings
>50% chance it went in wrong—pull it out and do it again
>ticks like crazy
>fill it up with lube
>still ticks at little
>repeat

It's reading shit like this that makes me glad I haven't used stabilizers for years.
>>
they have a new in-stock southpaw numpad frl full-size, full alu. But it's only 1.7kg built. Do I buy that and get the fuck out of this expensive hobby or do wait for something better like Pangaea?
>>
>>101304448
I was happy with mildly ticking stabs until I learned all the "take the tissue test"-style autism stab tests designed to ensure I can never be happy

>>
>>101304638
all those extra keys for what? just do hhkb backspace to fit the esc in (e.g. picrel, ignore cringe mod base backtick), scroll lock and pause/break don't matter, print screen can be a fn combo, f1 thru f12 can be fn 1 thru =.
>>
What are good long pole switches? If there are even any
>>
>>101304809
allegedly there exist long poles that collide with the bottom at the exact same time as the rest of the stem to produce the fullest possible bottom-out. But I forget who makes them
>>
>>101304809
Zakus are pretty nice, epsilons too. I'm sure there are more.

I mean it looks ok, it's just a bit light is all. 1.7kg built is not a lot. Trying to decide whether that's a problem.

I just changed from a set of blues to yellows and I stuck some stupidly thick o rings to dampen the clacking sounds, and it's not as silent as I'm hoping it to be when I'm typing normally especially when pressing the spacebar and backspace keys. do I need to learn how to type lightly or something?

Anyone know any prebuilt keyboards with this layout? It's okay if it's missing switches/caps
>>
What are the meta switches these days. when i built mine a few years ago boba were king
>>
>>101307088
We’ve gone full circle on switches.
Started with cherry prebuilt board then went fotm memes for years and then we are back at cherry again lol
>>
>>101307088
Bobas are still great switches.
>>
>>101307074
There are bm60 (your pic) kits from-
https://kprepublic.com/products/bm60-rgb-60-gh60-hot-swappable-pcb-programmed-qmk-firmware-type-c
Or you could find a dz60 somewhere.
>>
>>101303701
You don't need a stem trimmer when everyone already has cnc aluminum artisan from gmk sets, works just fine
>>
>>101307276
Do the kits ship prebuilt, or is it just a collection of the different pieces?
>>
Q2 Max vs GMMK 2?
>>
>>101307646
No to both, honestly
>>
>>101307650
Why's that? Any substitution recommendation?
>>
>>101307503
It's in pieces, they will build it for you if you pay an assembly fee.
>>
>>101307656
I'm not so well versed in 65% layout but with the $209 price tag of Q2 Max you can get something at least decent like Mode Envoy at $229, You better wait for other anons with knowledge of 65% layout to recommend something really nice for you
