Better performance and software support, probably a better hinge. The Razr+ does have a more soulful design, though I don't care for the cameras blocking the exterior screen. I'd be curious to see how it holds up in the long run, as I heard previous nu-Razrs had issues
>>
>>101422455
I used one a few days. The Pixel design was not appealing to hold and use daily. The camera on Graphene also sucks so you’d have to give up some features.
Graphene itself is phenomenal, the best phone OS there is, but you also are paying hundreds of dollars for a smartphone, and then effectively making a dumb phone if you want privacy

Pixel 8a or Xperia 10 VI. What is the better phone to get right now?

The Xperia is 100€ cheaper at the moment and has a headphone jack and a micro-SD slot. I also like the less round corners of the display, the physical fingerprint reader and the longer battery life.
On the other hand the Pixel has the better camera, better soc, better software and longer updates, display out via usb-c , better availability of replacement parts and custom roms.

I'm coming from an LG G8. I don't want to game on it but it should still be snappy enough in 5 years or so.
I’ve looked at reviews and specs for the last 9 hours and still can’t fucking decide between the two.
>>

>why are mutts slaves to carriers
>how do mutts live with whitelist carriers
I answered this already. Muttland is fucking big and the cell phone carriers don't care about investing in coverage for the less densely populated areas. I live in East Bumfuck, Nowhere, USA, and the only cell carrier in my area that provides adequate coverage happens to be AT&T. I'm trying to move to an MVNO instead of AT&T prepaid which I'm currently using because I hate them, but switching to Verizon or T-Mobile or whatever is not an option.

And for frequencies I mean which of these frequencies would mean a phone will work with AT&T towers? I'm trying to pick a phone to use with the MVNO to buy but the search database doesn't tell you what freqs you need for what carriers.

As an Australian it's crazy to think about how spread out the US population is, like 99% of us live by the coast so nearly none of us have this problem
>>
>>101423023
>nearly none of us have this problem
Not too many of us have this problem either. Our population is more spread out than yours but still really concentrated on the coasts and even the rural areas usually still have okay coverage. I am unlucky because I live somewhere rural, full of mountains and near state park land where they are reluctant to put up radio towers that would disturb the view so it's like the worst case scenario for adequate cell cover.

(Actually, I think I'm very lucky to live here anytime I'm not shopping for cell phones, I'm an /out/ist and I love the mountains, but fuck I want my Verizon back)

A chinkshit phone (Doogee Smini) lists these as their frequencies:

FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25 /26/28A/28B/66
TDD: B34/38/39/40/41
WCDMA: B1/2/4/5/8
CDMA: BC0/BC1
GSM: B2/3/5/8
Support EDGE/GPRS

Is this compatible with AT&T's towers? I'm too retarded to figure it out. I know it's not on the AT&T whitelist, but is there any chance I can get it to work on Red Pocket MVNO using AT&T towers?

I live in Russia and you know we don't have such a problem.
Seriously. I've heard that Russia had universal federal carriers before USA did.
> And for frequencies I mean which of these frequencies would mean a phone will work with AT&T towers
Can't help you with that. The only thing I've heard about AT&T is that they have whitelist of phones.

I can explain you how volte works but basically it's whitelist. Carrier must have dedicated code on their side do do your phone. Only if they both compatible you can use volte.
You can inject volte code on your phone to trick carrier but it's.. not an easy task. It's easily done in OnePlus or realme but I don't know about other phones.

I can't find any information about volte injection on this device. In Russia it "just werks", possibly because doogee releases volte configuration for carriers in public and Russian carriers just implemented it.
If carrier doesn't care It's only injection that can help. But there's no instructions lol.

I have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 cpu so not the same but I've emulated switch games on it. There are noticeable frame drops compared to a real switch, at least on Yuzu. The more graphically demanding games will not be enjoyable to play with lag and frame drops. For visual novels it works perfectly though.

What browser you use? I'm sick and tired of looking for good browsers...
>firefox, feels slow and laggy for some reason, when comparing to chromium based browsers
>brave, unecessary bloated, sure you can just not use brave rewards, but then it feels like I'm missing out
>google chrome, no addons, doesn't block ads
>samsung internet, has adblocker, but that's it pretty much, other addons are some weird hosted on samsungs addon store or something
>opera, chinese spyware, not that others aren't spyware, but I have even less trust
Currently I'm using samsung internet, it's comfy, desu, but every time a website requests my location borwser asks to change my location settings with a popup...

Sorry, this wasn't a very helpful post. I also like Firefox because it has (as far as I can tell) full support for desktop extensions (I think they might have had that in the past, taken it away then added it back in). Dark Reader and I Still Don't Care About Cookies make it worthwhile but Violentmonkey is really nice too. I don't think I'd want to use a browser without extensions now

How good it works? I'm leaning to use whatever default browser on a phone as long as it blocks ads and doesn't annoy me asking to share location. I don't browse on phone that much anyway

My second-hand Galaxy Watch 4 arrived, so far so good. Software update nuked 25% of the battery, but I've charged it to 100% and hoping the battery life is okay. It's been over 25 minutes and, knock on wood, the battery reading still says 100%.

S24 Ultra or Fold 6?
>>
>>101427091
The S24 Ultra has a higher chance of surviving the 7 years of promised software updates, if you replace the battery at the halfway point. The Fold's inner screen with probably be too worn out to be worth replacing the battery to keep the phone going.
>>
>>101427087
Why do you need two adblockers? You're not allowed on /g/ if you don't know how to configure your phone to use your pihole.
>>
>>101426772
Exynos sort of sucks, but it's more than enough for comfy and high speed browsing. I'm NA, so SD for me, but hopefully those gooks will be fair next time to all markets.
>>

my problem with folding phones is the price doesn't make sense
for $1,800-2,000 I could just get both a phone and a tablet. actually, it's significantly cheaper to do that
>>
>>101427215
>I could just get both a phone and a tablet. actually, it's significantly cheaper to do that
I did this before buying a folding phone and the experience isn't even close to being the same. Phone + tablet combo felt like a chore.
>>

>>
>>101427228
I'm sure there's convenience with a folding phone. but the expanded view is still too tiny that it doesn't make up for 11" or bigger tablets. how could it? just feels like cope to me. although if you're using a Fold and ALSO using a tablet I would kinda understand it...just feels like a waste rn esp with the creases visible
>>
>>101427215
I found my Fold4 to be fantastic for commuting but now I drive to work and I have one of these >>101422715 for phone stuff and a 12" tablet at home for tablet stuff and my Fold feels kinda redundant. Being able to crack it open and read a couple of chapters of manga during lunch break or whatever is fantastic but if that's not something you're interested in then it's hard to recommend since watching videos and playing games on a handheld suck whether the screen is 6" or 7.6" or 9.7" or 12.7" so it's not much of an improvement for those use cases

The jew is on every (stock) android phone anyways, just a little more on the pixel phones I guess. At least there are custom roms with less jew available for the 8a, the support for the 10 VI doesn't seem as good in that regard. But yeah I always liked the products of the honorary aryans and if it just had a better camera or better image processing I'd gone with the sonny boys.

The phone's screen is miles more resistant than any thin layer of glass that you glue on top of it, that is to say they're useless. If you want to protect your phone buy a good strong case.
>>
>>101432456
In terms of impact resistance, yes. But the protectors help against microscratches and scuffs, and you can just replace it for a few bucks whenever it stops looking nice. And it protects the phone itself from scratches, meaning you can resell it more easily later due to it being in great condition.

iMessage is a bad program for messaging, so instead of using WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber or the other far superior alternatives they simply use iMessage "Because it's the default iPhone messaging app"

Your post makes zero sense, Anon,

The new S24+ and the iPhone 15 are literally the same thickness as your OP6

I never understood this obsession that some people have with phone thickness, for me pretty much anything thinner than 9mm is good

You misinterpret, they simply don't care

My phone's battery health dropped to 99% after 126 days of use. Is this normal, should I be concerned? I have a OnePlus 12 Incase you need to know.
>>
>>101436862
At that rate its roughly 3% per year. That's fine, good I'd even say.

I'm planning on getting a silver Nord 4, looks amazing. Some of the specs are a bit average but it'll still be a nice upgrade over my Nord 2.
My biggest issue is that GSMarena lists it as only having USB 2.0 instead of 3.2. No idea why they'd skimp out on that, surely it doesn't add much cost.
Hopefully they have a bundle deal with their ear buds.
>>
>>101436862
You'd be okay. Iphone users unalive themselves when they lose more than 1% in a year.
>>
>>101436911
Oh, thanks a lot! I've been trying to keep my battery between 20 and 80 percent since I got the phone because I heard that was good for longevity. Once again thank you!
>>
>>101436941
It's not that big of a deal, it's not like your battery will be completely toast if you plug it in every night.
You'll probably get a new phone every 4-6 years, and you will definitely have more than 80% capacity by then even if you abuse the battery as hard as you can.

Probably a stupid question, but is it more efficient if I use a higher wattage charger for my phone? Something like using a 100W/140W charger? I'm just following the same logic as the PSU rule-of-thumb in which it's best to utilize at most 80% of your PSU at load.
I know for sure that it'll be better temps-wise and I probably won't encounter the same bullshit that plagues some chargers in which it'll only fast-charge for around 30 minutes before "throttling", but I'd like to hear some thoughts on it.
>>
>>101437018
I don't really need to charge it overnight anyway because 100 wat charging is fast as fuck, and I'd also like to get some money for it after I move on.
>>
>Phone at 31%

I think it's time to get a new phone. I legit have to charge it from 15 to full twice a day right now

Price
Poco x6 has better value and is cheaper than OnePlus Nord4
You can get same snap7+gen3 soc cheaper from Aliexpress Chinese version of the Realme Neo GT6 either custom ROM it or get the global google play version don't have the link no spoon feeding
If you have real tech skill the Chinese version of Realms Neo series has always been best bang for the buck phone specs wise in the past 4 years even more than the poco x6 pro I bought from Aliexpress
>>
>>101437237
Best bang for the buck phones
Realme neo Chinese version> Poco x series> Poco F series > One plus Nord series > any other recent older used flagship phone deals
>>
>>101436862
Most normies bring their batteries down by like 10% a year just by abusing fast charging and full 100% charging, so you're doing pretty good.
>>
>>101437237
Local warranty is what made me pick up X6 Pro over Neo GT6. Don't think the Neo GT series will ever land on our shithole shores.
