I hate transcooders
>>103282406so dont download that version and click on the other one then?
I too am in this thread
>>103282406We are not allowed to talk about transcooders.
>>103282406Cramming down 1080p video, especially if it's not anime into just a few Mbps while maintaining high quality is actually hard as fuck. Modern video codecs can help but often it takes so long that people end up using fast presets which inevitably leads to horrible quality like this.Just to put it in perspective 1080p blu-ray is 20-40 Mbps so about an average of 30 Mbps. Converted to MB that's 3.75MB every second. At say 3Mbps or ~3GB/2 hour 1080p movie that's just 375KB every second. You're literally telling the encoder to cram an entire second of "good looking" 1080p video into just 375 KB.NLmeans can help but it'll cost you fine detail.

I told you about that qxr garbage I warned your ass about the megusta garbageI tried to tellem that no a 60GB movie won't look just as good at 5GB X265Look if you don't have 1TB to spare for House seasons 1-8 then GO AND FUCKING GET IT BUY THAT HDDDDDDDDDD BUILD THAT NASSSSSSSSSSSS
>>103282406I started watching house a few weeks ago after a meme comp showed up on my timeline -- now I’ve got House brain rot. I’ve gotten mysterious leg pain and find myself limping at work. I bought a $50 razor that specifically advertises ‘permanent five o’clock shadow’ to look more like house. I’ve started diagnosing people at random. My coworker sneezed yesterday, and I told him he probably has sarcoidosis. He told me to shut up, so I mumbled something about Occam’s Razor and dramatically limped out of the room.Great show

>>103282406
I am transcooooooooooooding right now.
>>103284509>fps= 10You should try svt av1 instead if decoding isn't a problem. Also why are you using the encoder directly instead of through ffmpeg? Does your script do pre-processing outside of ffmpeg?
>>103284554>You should try svt av1 insteadNah, that will be even slower. I tried already.>Also why are you using the encoder directly instead of through ffmpeg?I do use ffmpeg.-hide_banner-v quiet-stats

>download a 300mb 1hr h265 video>OMG WHY DOES IT LOOK BAD?I usually get 2GB+ files for tv episodes
there's always a multitude of factors that can make an encode look bad and you should always just assume that x=bad or that x size/bitrate looks bad. x265 at ~6000kbps can look passable on a clean digital source, but it will just look terrible with a grainy source. I guess it's something that they're using a newer encoder instead of an older one, so at least it will supposedly handle low bit rates better.
What should be ideal size for each episode of House when I'm looking for its torrents as we speak?
>>103286726~4 gigabytes for ~45 minutes of video at 1080 should be close to perfect
Endgame.
>>103286763>10 bit Gimmick.
>>103286785Well, that is the biggest file I could find. Where's the 1tb torrent everyone is talking about?
>>103286785You can reduce the colors in your player if you're a pleb with a a shit display
>>103286726Scene used to encode Bluray episodes to 2.2GB an episode no idea if they still do that or if they CRF them these days. If you insist on x265 encodes those will be around 1.5-2GB for "decent" ones. That's still be like 250-300GB.But like I said if you want the actual quality you will need at least 1.5TB
>>103286796Oh yeah, Mr rich? Okay. What monitor you've got?

>>103282406I will never be a TRANScoder, I just download full remuxes and leave it at that. Experience movies and shows the way they were meant to.

>>103282406how come once upon a time in the west you could have a based and redpilled main character, a n-word ( cool guy ), a lesbian 10/10, an incel, a MILF, cool starting music cool plots... all in 1 show that was watched by everyone? That was true diversity and it was beautiful.
>>103282406whats the problem with 1080p x265, I am converting all my corn :) to 1080p x265 now from Discs. Is there a better alternative?
>>103289744AV1 if you have the support for it. Also>converting all my corn :) to 1080p x265No, you're converting it with x265, not to x265.
>>103282406why? looks fine to me,slop like that is to be consumed and then immediately deleted, why waste valuable bandwidth and storage space?are you an gay?
>>103286726300mbit's brainrot, don't waste too much space on it
>>103291411This guy gets it. 720p is more than enough for slop. 1080p is more than enough for anything of value.
>>103282406perdon me for asking but what's the problem?image losing quality? or the color being changed?
>>103282406thank u yiffy
>>103291582Nothing compares to a proper, full fat, 4K HDR remux. The clarity, the colors, the sound. I can tell the difference when something's been compressed to shit, and when something's the way it should be. Until AV1 or AV2 can give me 'that' sort of quality, I won't bother with it. I'd rather just spend the money to buy a bigger SSD down the road.
>>103286726
>>103291411This is an excellent post. Absolutely correct & based. 720p Ultra-compressed chads say winning.
>>103292062The idea is that if you're concerned about HD quality for a basic cable TV show like House, then you've got a screw loose. Storage shouldn't be wasted on 4K rips of slop.
>>103282406Every time these threads pop up I remember that 99.99% of /g/ are a bunch of larpers that can't even afford a fucking 2TB external drive so they have to rely on these shitty remuxes.
>>103293197>Yes goyim! Keep buying more storage for your Ultra HD copies of trash. What are you, a poor or something? Lol.
>>103293266You're unironically mega poor. It's not like you have to keep the files, I churn 10TB a month.

>>103289070Yeah. They could have made ten more series with the extras and all of them would be better than whatever is on netflix these days.
>>103293353>POOR>nigger>keeps continuing to swallow metric tons of what he describes as slopProof?
>>103289070Because none of this was ever about diversity in the first place. Divide and conquer.
>>103293197>remuxesBDrips
what's the difference between a remux and a transcoded video?
>>103282406I download BD rip and then transcode it myself on CPU only. I let the bitrate to be dynamic, I don't change anything else.
>>103295669A remux (remultiplex) is the video, audio and other streams such as subtitles off the disc multiplexed into a container such as .mkv, .mp4 etc. They do this because the raw information on a blu ray disc is an mpeg stream or something or other that isn't as compatible or easily accessed on PCs compared to a .mkv. An encode is just that video and/or audio that has been run through an encoder like x264 to discard Information and reduce the file size :)
>it's a tritter episode
