meme mail hobby service gone. lasted longer than most meme sites. owner wanted money. better if everyone set up their own mail server. easier than people make it out to be.
>>
its never coming back

>local and multiple remote backups, rsync and sftp
>thunderbird pulls down my emails daily
having your own mail server is peak control and peak privacy especially given thunderbird makes PGP easy enough for a seven year old.

>peak privacy
>email
Email isn't private, email can't be private, email never will be private.
>but muh pgp and in transit encryption no one uses!
lol, fucking lmao even
stop larping, running your own email server is nice but it does less than nothing for privacy.

yay thx great

Email is private, email can always be private. Simple as. Been my own postmaster since 1776.
>>
>>103293914
Nah bro you just got to find an untainted IPv4 address that isn't on any blocklist, get a domain, setup DKIM, SPF, DMARC, and a bunch of other bullshit, test your emails with gmails own tool giving you a perfect score only to end up getting filtered anyways.
>>
Works fine on my servers. The shills here will not change that.

>rsync and sftp
What's the point of both?
Doesn't rsync automatically use ssh for remote syncs?
>>
>>103295241
each have their own purpose. non sensitive data uses native rsync over wireguard. sensitive data uses chroot sftp-only over wireguard. native rsync is a little faster for large data transfers though LFTP can use sftp multi-threaded but has slower directory enumeration.
>>
>>103293566
>f everyone set up their own mail server. easier than people make it out to be.
You're joking right?
It's a nightmare trying to set one up and build up enough reputation so that gmail, icloud and outlook servers don't just instantly reject/trash/junk all the email coming from your server.
>>
>>103295287
reduce default concurrency limits, especially for gmail, yahoo and wireless providers. once you trip their rate limits it wont reset until they reset their daemons or servers.
>>
>>103295268
oh, you're that guy that posts pictures named "anon sftp" or something, right?
I get your other points, but what makes rsync not suitable for non-sensitive data? couldn't you use rsync with chroot?
>>
>>103295324
rsync over ssh requires a shell. native rsync does not. so I use native rsync when I dont care if someone can decrypt my wireguard tunnel. chroot sftp also does not require a shell but is slightly safer for sensitive data.
>>
>>103295381
Didn't know about it requiring a shell. Interesting.
But you still haven't explained how one is "slightly safer" than the other.
I'm already familiar with rsync, and use it a lot, but if that's really the case I may switch.

back that up

>back that up
Socrates used to say that to me as well. I am never required to "back that up" or "show sources" or "provide citations". If you are interested in a topic, the information is all without your reach.
>>
>>103293566
lmao fucking zoomer /pol/ faggot here again. please leave already.
>>
>>103295495
If anything, all I've read points to the fact that it's the same.
But the guy that posts images with easily archive-trackable filenames knows better and doesn't need to back up any of his ass-pull claims
