What’s objectively the weakest set of computer hardware one can browse 4chan on?

they start providing less features, options, ports, repairability, etc to their hardware whilst pumping the prices higher.
other corporations think they're retarded and await the impending shitstorm that will hit apple.
turns out consumers are the ones who are retarded for actually throwing their money at apple.
other corpos watch in awe as a company that does less gets paid more so they decide to follow suit.
long story short, you have only 2 type C ports and maybe a 3mm jack on your otherwise plain laptop.
blame apple and their fans.

What explains this phenomenon

anything that has pentium 4, 2 gb of ram and like 20gb of storage or so. Thats like the bare minimum to run any somewhat up to doot web browser because most of them that actually work require sse2. perhabs with some tinkertrooning you could get away with something like P3 but its going to be a losing battle.

I honestly don't mind the lack of ports. It was a problem with the original Macbook Air but since we have fully featured USB-C docks now it's much more convenient.
I just wish laptops were still sturdy and repairable.

not xhim but most of them are unreliable as fuck, unless you pay a little fortune for them. Yet another way to force us to pay more for the same thing.

Kneeling.

It all depends on having a browser new enough to pass the cloudflare check. Before the cloudflare enshittification you could access 4chan on Windows 98 with kernelex.

this is bullshit and mostly just the farts that apple cultists have huffed (and also just silent apple marketing probably)

most consumer laptops were always seen as complete garbage before macbook air too - latitudes were seen as made by a completely different company compared to inspirons from dell, for example
same goes for hp elitebooks/pavilions and lenovo whatevers/thinkpads:

they were also hard to actually service, disassembly required a gorillion screws, a few dozen plastic tabs to be carefully wiggled out from the keyboards or you broke the cover for it or whatever,

and the glory hole mechanisms meant that replacing some things like cmos, which is super simple nowadays, was a monumental task requiring complete dissassembly on even pre 2015 elitebooks for example.

besides, macbooks arent nearly as much of a money maker for apple (only 10% revenue iirc), neither are consumer laptops for other oems (same as apple): the real dough is in the business world, where there is basically no apple excluding maybe audio production, sketch (design program that microsoft designers allegedly used to design windows 11 kek), and portable adobe workstations or something.

you could "browse" it on a microcontroller, but posting would require something that could get past the cloudflare check, probably a 256mb-512mb RAM SBC or something.
If you built/wrote some custom browser you could probably do it with something even weaker, and if you count being able to VPN into a stronger device you could also post from an esp32 or such.

I still remember 4chan with no captcha and working on my Nokia phone kek

you can push it to 256M ram (with a bit of zram/swap), but i cant immediately think of a browser able to handle cloudflare that doesn't need sse2+ (so pentium4+)

fun extra question, what's the slowest you've posted on? for me that'd be a 486sx25 laptop with 24M of ram. can't do it now though, that was ages ago before even captcha was implemented
>>
>>106562267
You can browse it using retrozilla on a pentium 2 but can't post anything
>>
>>106562327
My 1GB Raspberry Pi 4 can't even resolve CloudFlare captchas; only my 4GB model can. I doubt 512 MB of RAM is enough.

stop with the nostalgia old troons your eyes have lost their glimmer, you will nvr be young again.
