Just found an offer for a used MSI 4070 Ti Super with 1 year warranty for 600 euro. The only other card I'm willing to buy is the 5070 Ti but it's 800 euro minimum. It's not worth paying 200 euro more for the 5070 Ti, right?

Need a pair of HDDs to buy for storing media. Not looking for a NAS setup or anything (I’m not that autistic… yet) just looking for a pair to put in my build and setup with raid 1. I’ve only got a 4tb seagate barracuda that’s creeping up to 7 years old (somehow) and I’ve got some stuff in there that I don’t want to risk losing from a drive failure.

Looking for at least 8tb each. Price isn’t an issue. I’ve been looking at potentially getting some NAS drives (more reliable apparently?) or refurbished enterprise drives. But are those suitable for storing in my workstation? I don’t have my pc running 24/7 like a NAS or a server.

I have a 5060 ti 16gb and need a new second monitor. Both of my current ones at 1080p, is it worth it to upgrade one of them to 1440p and leave the other as 1080p for a while? Or is it better just to grab a new 1080p one if I want to ride the 5060 TI for at least 5 years?

So it's a good idea to just get that 4070 Ti Super? I've read the model (MSI Ventus 2X) isn't very good but I don't know how true that is. People shit talked my Asus GTX 1080 model and yet it's been working fine for a decade now, except for the chink fans that I swapped with Noctua fans after like 3 years and I'm doing the same to this new card after warranty ends.
>>
>>107273040
You bought the RAM when you ordered it.
>>
>>107272940
I would get the 5070 TI if you can afford it, the 5 year warranty alone is worth $200, having said that if you OC the 5070 TI it actually around a 4080 as blackwell have better OC, they also have better temps and you are future proof in terms of features both cards are good though so it depends on your budget
>>
>>107273047

>>
>>107273047
I just always shove as much into GPU as possible since I only upgrade once every 3 gens minimum that's like 5-6 years. So I'd get the 5070TI. What else are you gonna spend the $200? RAM?

I don't have budget problems, I could buy a 5090, I just don't like spending more than things are worth, I'm a scrooge. I also don't play a lot of AAA crap so I feel like anything more than a 5070 Ti is overkill even though I plan on keeping it for at least 4 years as I always do.
>>107273065
I don't really care about long warranty since I'm eventually going to mod the fans and case and that's going to void it, I just need 1 or 2 years of warranty to ensure the card doesn't have serious issues.

Regardless if you really need the super for the extra vram check if you have access to 60 days return policies. on your country, that way you can buy now some of the msrp cards and then return it if they get announce during CES, if you only have 30 days you'll have to pray that prices are not retarded around the 2nd week of december.(CES IS 6 TO 9 ON JANUARY)

You retards need to understand that AI is just a buzzword for boomer, even before chatgpt traditional computing was being replaced by accelerated computer at the high level.

What nvidia sells are supercomputers that are extremely fast at doing linear algebra and matrix x matrix operations even without the AI bomb shit would be exactly the same because at the end of the day governemnt or corporation needs faster compute to keep up with the competition, the only difference is that every financial model, predictive analyst or anything that used these type of compute was being calculated in the CPU's in 2015s and now is being done in the GPU's. Which is why AMD and Intel are fuck, most of the big contracts nvidia secure are with governments and macrocorporation, the whole AI shit is just so boomer dont ask themselves why the fuck would my government need so much compute if its not to implemente mass surveillance on my web footprints

this might be new information to some but as an oled monitor user it can be disappointing due to the ever present burn in mitigations
a bright picture will look dim because it has a lot of white at high luminance and the monitor "protects" itself by clipping the highlights

This is my current PC I'm using.

I'm honestly a bit clueless about how parts work together and what optimal parts to get and stuff, but I feel like I want to upgrade something.

My PC is insanely slow on start up now and takes a good 10-15 minutes before it gets it shit together and starts working, and even then it has the occasional hiccup and slows down for a bit.

If you had this rig, what would you do? Upgrade something? Get an entirely new PC?

Open to any and all help/criticism

Compatability mentioned in the screenshot was about having up to date BIOS to work with the CPU which mine currently does

Is there anything in this rig that's stopping something else from reaching its full potential or anything like that?

do it, then immediately flip it for x4 profit or x8 a week later

yes just make sure to not buy a "SMART" one

>My PC is insanely slow on start up now and takes a good 10-15 minutes before it gets it shit together and starts working, and even then it has the occasional hiccup and slows down for a bit.
huh? you are on an NVMe, it should take you like 11 seconds from boot to be playing your favorite gaym
>>
>>107273761
the pc is great, there is nothing wrong with it at all, except for the shitty psu, get a decent one, they are cheap
you probably have a bunch of bloatware + w11 + untuned ram + not undervolted cpu, hardware is fine if it's slow it has to be software I think
>>
>>107272447
Ok I've changed the psu to modular and upraded the ram. I've even saved a little bit. Should be solid now yeah?

Sometimes it will smell lke burning plastic, although I have the cheapest model. Make sure that your smallest plate can get in, so you won't have to clean the tray when reheating something.

you would think I'm joking but all top end models have it, only the lower power models with dial control don't have the digital cancer in them and yes you VILL need to register and account and UPDOOOT the malware of your fucking air fryer before you can cook something on it.
So get dumb version, with dials and no fucking digital panels.

Sorry, should point out that what I selected is an additional hardrive, my boot drive is a 1TB PCS 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (520MB/R, 470MB/W) (I just copy pasted what the order said)

>>107273791
What would the benefits of a new PSU be? More efficient?
Thanks for the insight, is there any program you know of that specialises in a PC clean up to help me get rid of bloat?
I'm still on Windows 10 if that means anything, are there guides available for what you mentioned about untuned ram and undervolted CPU?
Thanks
>>
now is the last time to get into hardware
if you dont buy a 5090 now when they will become 4000€ again you wont be able to resell it to buy the 6090 which will release at 3999€ msrp and be 5000-6000€ real retail price
ram will up
ssd will be up
the gpu housing market will become more of a reality
if you haven't bought in like the boomers and flip your 90's series every 2years you will be left behind

Asus please can I have a post code? a 7 segment display, that tells me exactly what's wrong with the board? It costs $0.40 to add it to a motherboard
>Asus
>>
>>107273883
windows 10 is better than 11
uninstall all software you don't need or use
turn on xmp settings on the bios for the ram, if you really wanna get into it watch actually hardcore overclocking on youtube
a good gold cybenetics PSU costs less than 150, it powers your pc, you use a bronze one which I assume it's pretty bad
also update your bios and install the latest amd chipset drivers
that's the maintenance I'd suggest
>>
>>107273905
>but I will just buy a lower end car- ACK
the low tier gpus will be axed due to memory costs
the gpu market will be have yachts and have not's
you will either have an igpu and play solitaire all day or you will be playing 12k native with a 5090
we are in the nightmare
abandon all your common sense and buy buy buy
>>
>>107273761
just get a better gpu and wipe all that garbage slowing your system down

$0.05 of plastic.

Like even with an old SSD it shouldn't take you 15 minutes to load. In fact it shouldn't take you a minute to load. Software issue
>>
>>107273954
Yes, you can get close to 4090 performance.
>>
>>107273834
The PC market has been stagnating for years due to mild improvements and poor purchasing power, so many people have old hardware, waiting for a better moment to upgrade. So when they see the prices skyrocket, they go into last chance panic buy mode.

A wise person dusts off his old PC and enjoys the profit of selling his midrange hardware to these idiots who think it's gold now.
