mid-range builds kinda died off after we entered the era of hardware appreciating in value, and people finally collectively realizing you can use a top-end pc for about a decade now so there's no reason not to go all-out anymore. Low and mid-range pcs, as a concept, are a relic from an era where you MAYBE got a good 24 months out of your hardware before it became antiquated garbage, but often it was even less than that. There's literally no excuse to not get the top-end shit considering how long your investment will last, except for being a thirdie

Gentlemen, I just wanted to say thanks for still being here. You were here when I made my OG bench box in 2013 and you continue to have good advice. Last time I was here was to get a dual-DVI Qnix QX2710LED 2k for my 1080ti when that was the hot thing.I've been needing to do a full build for a bit. 1080ti Seahawk is starting to crap out on me. I'm literally posting from integrated graphics on my quaternary 1080p OLED. My old high end DDR3 has been replaced twice as it gave out. My old EVGA Supernova PSU chewed itself apart. Not even getting into regular swaps like drives. But, today, even on the backend of the AI fuckcenter hikes, I got a PNY 5070ti for MSRP, 32 Gb of the last Crucial 6400 mhz, MSI A5 B850 Tomahawk motherboard, Ryzen 9800X3D, with a new 4K KTC M27P6 monitor for less than $2500 Freedombucks. Being able to reuse my PSU, cooler, case and fans and drives basically was the different in the price hikes. Would be nice to have more than 32Gb ram, but I still remember the Taiwan fires and the early DDR4 fuckery that kept me on DDR3 back then. I'll take the blessings I can get. Thanks again /g/entlemen.

>>107902035wasnt there this blog by some psu autist?
>>107902044dont see why this would matter, all our leaders fuck kids and nothing ever happens, openai is a branch of the government now so they receive infinite tax dollars. the peasants don't matter.
Is this a good RAM cooler?
>>107902067all ram heatsinks just trap heat, you need a fan pointed on them to actually cool ram well.
I'm not buying 64gb ram for 800€ that were 100€ beforethe humiliation has no bounds
nvidia liedgamers cried but will still defend them
Crazy to think my 12 year old Sapphire 290X has a thicker and stiffer PCB than any xx90 or xx900 GPU shipped thus far, with a proper mounting plate to reinforce it and prevent sag. GPU design really isn't what it once was.
>>107902067>RGB unit
>>107901937I'll look into them. The one I have is ADATA but I don't think they make PSUs anymore.>>107902035Lots of good info here, thanks niggy!>I don't recommend this PSU if you're going to use a relatively small/tight case, that old connector needs a decent amount of straight clearance (at least 30~35mm) before you bend it.I forgot sometimes you gotta make sure things all fit in together, but I'm going for a mid tower so I should be fine.
>>107902077i vertically mounted my 5080 so it doesn't really matter hehebut i agree
>>107901932>40 to 50 jumpthey just added an extra number in their mid range and priced it accordingly
>>107902035Didn't some workstation GPUs used to use EPS 12V for power?
>>107902066
>>107902060Maybe you're talking about Johnny Guru's blog post, he's Corsair's PSU product director.http://jongerow.com/12VHPWR/index.htmlhttp://jongerow.com/12V-2x6/index.html
>>107902108our only purpose was to toil to the end of our days and furnish our masters with a fresh supply of slaves. We're doing a pretty bad job of the former and a really, really bad job of the latter. They're putting all their chips on AI in desperation because young people can't prop up their infinite boomer retirement ponzi anymore.Good thing AI will fail to meet all expectations.
>>107902088>The one I have is ADATA but I don't think they make PSUs anymore.ADATA sells PC PSU using their XPG brand. The XPG Core Reactor II is decent (built by reputable OEM CWT), but it uses the less safe 12VHPWR connector.
>>107901992Yeah except no self respectable gamer uses FG.>bro I heard you like gaming>here's your 80ms system latency (compared to 40ms no FG)
FYI Laurie would do more, create more, and earn more with a GPU than any of you ever will. She also wouldn’t pay for it. Her reputation would get her anything she wants from Jenson, Lisa Su, The CEO of her company, or the governor of her state. You just want to play Bing Bing wahoo and you are bitching because it costs more than you earn
Worth it?
>>107902035My Seasonic came with cables for the newer one!
>>107902108you know who to blame, right? yeah, it's obamabecause he bailed out the banks 2008 they are right there complacent with this obvious scam because if they make money they make money and if everything blows up, they'll get bailed out again, that's why the s&p is at 7000 while the economy goes to shit and buying groceries gets harder every week
>>107901977Thanks again anon. I just will muster up and open the windows and take a walk sit down and do the basics right after that. Mobo, CPU, RAM, CPU cooler, then drop in case and wire up PSU and hope it turns on first boot.
>>107902165the avg consumer is retarded. they only know higher number is better.
>>107902171Every single cable fire involves one of these devices. So no.
>>107902035>take away 1.5mm>give back 0.25mmFUCKING JEWS
>>107902174The issue isn't the cable; it's the less safe 12VHPWR power socket installed in those ATX 3.0 Vertex PSUs.
>>107902183I can’t wait for your posts to tell us about how bad you fucked up your expensive hardware, how you can’t get your money back, and how you are so depressed you want to an hero.
>>107902186>higher fps AND higher latency? Hell yeah bro!
>>107902171the only device like this I'd get would be the wireview pro 2 for the ampere display but even there your connector can burn as you cannot tell how good the connection between your wireview and the GPU is unless you have an astral.
>>107902154>XPG Core Reactor IIThis might be the one I have. Minus the "II". It was kinda pricey, but this was at the end of 2020. I'll have to look for ones with these more safe connectors though.
>>107902067microchips dump their heat into the pcb, you need to coolr the pcb. the thermal goop on resin package like the mosfets on gpus is a band aid
>>107902074Only a poorfag problem.
