Report all flamewarring, trolling, spamming posts. Long live /pcbg/!

Post your /pcbg/ anyway but know that we have enraged the amdshitposter to the degree that he has vowed to shit up this thread with trash with the goal of killing it.

remain vigilant, /pcbg/, report in silence, and above all - have fun.

Spotting the shitposters: the shitposters may be working at gunpoint in a bot farm, paid shill/bot farm, lone schizo, etc. the shitposters rarely ever just tags the OP and asks for it to be updated or changed as asked for in the second part of the sticky. they also resort to things like ad hominem, racism, cherry picked benchmarks, false information, etc. and one of my favorite things is the lone post tagging no one but responding to some previous reply to whatever argument it felt it was losing or with a one-liner just to flood the vapid minds of the unwashed masses with <specific vendors products>. the shitposters necropost old tropes to flood the threads and bump post counts e.g. random garbage questions that any /noob/ would just google or disingenuous descriptions of problems that are copypasta with a few words changed in them. Single line, low-quality posts are often the copypasta. Most recently the OP appears to be trying a super stealth approach - creating the OP with only "subtle" alterations like "-Avoid Nvidia Due To Possible Melting Connectors & Driver Problems", and griefing /g/ by creating and self deleting the thread after a short while.

5070 is the best value graphics card currently
5060 Ti 16 GB and 5070 Ti are both lower value when considering street price vs performance.
You'll be optimizing settings with any card, but you can hit any resolution with DLSS on a 5070.
(pic related does not have FSR 4, so the 9070 is essentially useless unless you resort to modding)

5070 costs about 15% over MSRP, which is also the case even for lower cards like the 5060. The bigger problem for new builders is the cost of DDR5, but if you have a half decent DDR4 system with an R5 5600 or i5 12400 or something similar, the 5070 is a reasonable upgrade from a weaker card like a 4060, 3070, or 2080 Ti.

Sadly, unless you are in the market for a Blackwell Pro, the current crop of consumer cards are fairly useless for local models, at least compared to what you can do with an API key from Anthropic or Google. The context window is too small even on a 32 GB 5090 to be particularly useful (gooners be gone) without an extremely robust short term and long term persistent memory system, but even then the available context window is heavily limiting. (64K tokens is nothing against the 1,000K token context window of Gemini 3 Pro.)

Using the list from the second sticky sort of bears this out but really only if DLSS matters to you.

GeForce RTX 5070 Ti $913
Radeon RX 9070 XT $729
GeForce RTX 5070 $619
Radeon RX 9070 $629
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB $539

Has anyone here used both ~20L and ~40L cases? I'm wondering if there's that much of a difference in size in real life. Jonsbo D32 PRO vs Antec FLUX M.

based anon thanks can I also use this pbo info on my 9800x3d?

I'm going to go from my 9800x3d if the mythical 9950x3d2 ever comes out
Yeah I'll take a 400 dollar hit but whatever

Thank you for the tldr version I will look up data next
Very helpful when I start looking at 5400 drives other than WD black so I can not pay thru the nose

Anyone wanna weigh in on Toshiba? I've bought WD my entire life...

We aim to please.

>can I also use this pbo info on my 9800x3d
Aim for something like -25 all core, +200Fmax, MOBO Limits, 10x scalar and test with OCCT, Y-Cruncher, P95, etc..

>if the mythical 9950x3d2
goddamn it I was going to /waitfag/ for this but ended up buying a 9950X3D during my panic buy in December

>Toshiba
Preddy good, different lines have different warranties.

>I'm going to go from my 9800x3d if the mythical 9950x3d2 ever comes out
I'm starting to believe more and more that the 9950x3d2 was all a baseless rumour, if you think about it that hypothetical CPU would be even more of a niche than the 9950x3d
>games wouldn't benefit from it due to cross CCD communication
>very few applications are capable of properly utilizing 16 cores given the CCD complexity while benefitting from the extra cache
Just get the 9950X3D if you need the extra cores or wait for Zen 6 next year for a proper 12 core single CCD.
>>108121918
>goddamn it I was going to /waitfag/ for this but ended up buying a 9950X3D during my panic buy in December
At best you don't have to deal with core affinity.

Remember AMD is only cheap when Intel curbstomps them to near bankruptcy. If you're an AMD fan you'd want Intel to be on top like when $180 Conroe made a $1k in 2006 dollars A64X2 obsolete overnight.
>>
>>108121960
it is always the fault of the other side when one overcharges.

>very few applications are capable of properly utilizing 16 cores given the CCD complexity while benefitting from the extra cache

Ehhh.. Windows and Linux both love cores, the more you have the better the underlying OS runs. If you work with VMs having more than 8 cores can make a big difference in performance. And on-die multi CCD is still faster than old school multi CPU setups using QPI, right?
>>
>>108121841
I've got a Toshiba, used it in an enclosure and it died due to overheating. Have good airflow, regardless of the brand.
I noticed smart errors appearing then checked hwinfo, 50C+ at all times. Too late to save by then.

>>108121781
Yeah it's a "don't talk to me or my wife's son ever again" situation.

Explain why the 9060xt is not $200 right now.
