for which percentage of users did kde actually krash™? why is this talked about so much EXCLUSIVELY on 4chan?
one guy that really hates kde is pushing it hard on here. not to say hes the only one posting it but definitely he amplifies it
>>108165145doesn't he have like a REALLY shitty laptop?
>>108165132It used to crash a lot a couple of years ago. Nowadays it's more stable but the reputation is hard to shake off. I have tried it recently and it works fine, my only complaint it that it's a bit buggy when im customizing the layout. But i only do this once on a fresh install so it's not a big deal.
>kdeWhy would you use that though? I've used xfce for the last 10 years and it just works, I have no reason to even try other DE's.
>>108165132>why is this talked about so much EXCLUSIVELY on 4chan>google "kde krashes">9 billion results from reddit, bbs.archlinux.org, fedora forums, discuss.kde.org, forum.manjaro.org, forum.opensus.org, linux.org, nixos.org, forums.gentoo.orglmao.
>>108165182nowhere else have i seen people complain about kde, so i doubt about the hard to shake off part, plus i use kde myself>>108165190>Why would you use that though?because i want to?every single de i have tried has just werked on my end, i found each and every one of them wonderful in their own way>>108165213>video from literally half a decade agobe for real

>>108165250maybe because most of them are far from recent (most recent from november last year, 3 months ago, at least two bugfix updates have released since then)
I've been using it for a year and it never crashed, but sometimes when it locks it won't let me in again, I noticed it happens when I have a browser with the sound paused, so I have to force shut down and turn it on again. But it happened like 3 times ever.
>>108165132should be around 13%
>>108165275>maybe because most of them are far from recent (most recent from november last year, 3 months ago, at least two bugfix updates have released since then)oh really? let's seehttps://discuss.kde.org/tag/plasmai see a ton of issues. not only you're wrong, you're lying just like you lie about your gender.
Back in 2010 when KDE plasma was released it crashed a lot while KDE 3.x was perfect, haven't used it since
>>108165132It hasn't recently but 2ish years ago it crashed all the time on my intel/nvidia system. It was never a huge deal as it knew to restart itself so its all good, but to a mom/grandma style user I could see that being annoying as hell
>>108165132>for which percentage of users did kde actually krash™? why is this talked about so much EXCLUSIVELY on 4chan?All the time for hardened Linux systems. Dependencies fuck shit up all the time. I never Krashed™ on my personal machines, but all the time on Redhat with security standards.
>>108165367that's almost as if that's what this page is designed for, discussing issues
>>108165132Kde was perfectly functional for the year or two i used it and it's a very good DE choice.I say all this as a gnome user.
>>108165561>I say all this as a gnome user.Don't you get sick of being around weird pervert extremists writing horrible software and getting mad if you dare to tinker? GNOME has been hijacked so hard by the same lunatic Rust crowd.
>>108165132i did find myself laughing when i was trying out fedora kde last week and installing steam crashed the whole plasma shell when i tried to launch the program lol. thing’s been ok otherwise but i migrated over to gnome recently since it plays well with my magic trackpad better
