>>108209844I'll start building my racks again only if 128GB DDR5 will cost $100.
>>108209886was thinking of 64gb ddr4 for my laptop so i can vm to windows comfortably but now even that's out of reach... when can we expect these prices to come down to something remotely resembling reasonable again
>>108209900Not in 2026, that's for sureMaybe in 2 to 3 years from now.The official predictions are 50% to 60% jump, second quarter of 2026, that's all I know.
I think the AI bubble will pop by 2030. Tech giants will not be able to justify the absurd costs of AI, or at least the use of LLMs. Companies will discover they get no real benefit and public rejection will reach its peak.Bunch of hardware meant for data centers that never came to be will have to be repurposed as consumer hardware. Though AI may not disappear, as cheaper implementations like image recognition will still dominate in the security sector for example. This may not be the thread for this kind of post but these are my thoughts after browsing for chinesium ram sticks in aliexpress.

Do you remember when people used to say that buying RAM bigger than 8 GB was a meme?
You can buy a dell t5810 workstation with a 2690V4, 16gb ram, 685watt psu, and win 10 for like $300. The 2690v4 is on par with a Ryzen 5 5600X All you need is a GPU and you are good to go. 5700xt is $160 giving you a budget PC for under $500. It would be an end of life system so fuck you.
I thought Germans were supposed to be smart but why the fuck they are the only motherfuckers in the entire world making 1000W PSU with only 2 PCIe plugs and no cable with twintail? imagine buying a NIGGER POWER PSU and then wanting to upgrade to something like an AMD PowerColor Red Devil, you can't without changing PSU or looking for compatible aftermarket cables that can allow you a 3 PCIe plugs connection
>>108210234there's 6 pcie 8pin cables on the image
ai bubble status?
>>108210234it has a 12V-2×6 to 2x PCIe 6+2 cable
>>108210238theres only 2 cables with 2 connectors each>>108210260pumping for a dumping
>>108210278the correct practice is to not to use twin tails, it's to pull one new connection for each 8 pin plug
>forgot to buy a new SSD last year>its 3x the price nowWhat le fuck mate
>>108210277thats not 12v-2x6 its their own special connector
>>108210277>>108210278RETARDSeach pcie cable SPLITS into 2 individual 8pinsit's still a retarded cable however because you should not trust an high end GPU to a cable like this
>>108210290the way their cables are wired they are essentially separate cables just glued together like siamese twins on the PSU side
just return the psu then and stop buying eurocrap, anything that is not made by chinese people is crap
>>108210309ThisImagine spending 300 euros for eurocrap when you can spend 120 for a Gamemax that blows out of the water everything that isn't a 3 times more expensive seasonic
I have 64gb of ram on my notebook that I totally don't need, I might buy one of those weird contraptions that adapt sodimm to udimm and finally build my media server
