It's not just digital ID and age verification, the internet has been dying since the rise of the smartphone and the entry of the third world along with thr propagandists and scammers of these failed states and places onto it onto it, then you have the increased cloud orientation of corporates, the absolute dominance of spyware, adware and tracking and gaming and subscibe software as a service etc. Now you will have AI bots ruining what's left and creating massive security issues as well. My offline internet consists of a large phycial library of media and games along with digital archives of mp3s, mp4s, PDFs, encyclopedias, project guttenberg, wikipedia offline, other wikis and stuff from kiwix,best of youtube, etc etc as well as patches, drivers and application and software setups on an offline LAN with a bunch of PCs running everything from XP to win7, win10 linux, RAID boxes, SANs etc. I will still have to access 20 or so sites for stuff like banking, insurance etc but that will be via a device locked down so it will only connect to their associated IPs and bouce all other DNS queries to null and when I'm not using it it will be powered down.It's quite time consuming to get done, you need to sit down and ask yourself what is on the internet you want/need and go and get it while you can. I even have a store containing encylopedia dramatica offlined along with thousands of threads from different boards. either 4chan or reddit will survive, in fact social media is already in a real collapse.
