>vram seems to be entirely dependent on texture resolution
It's not, it's also needed for the machine learning algorithms (aka AI) that handle upscaling and denoising too
If you need ray tracing in games you will need VRAM, unlike say a Blender scene where path tracing will consume maybe like 400mb of VRAM In a basic scene with no textures

I was barely able to get my new W Black 6TB HDD installed in my 2023 Corsair 4000D case because those retards designed the case be impossible to remove the PSU after you insert it in and plug all thr modular cables into it. That goodness my friend installed the 4SATA connector since it let me be able to bend and plug the power into the second drive without needed to remove anything. I am the retard for not double checking such a retarded a possibility when I got the case, but I just assumed that Corsair wasn't mega faggots about building a simple case.

My $2,200 box is finally done.
Took a few months of deal hunting. But it was worth it.

GPU - ASUS Prime 5070Ti OC 16BG ($750)
CPU - Ryzen 7 9850X3D ($400)
RAM - Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL36 ($100)
SSD - WD_BLACK SN8100 4TB M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD ($450)
MoB - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX ($180)
PSU - be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W ($90)
AIO - ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 280 ($85)
Case - Fractal Design Meshify 3 Black Solid ($120)

Now if I can sell my old PC for about $1,000 I'll be happy.
>>
>>108229162
Oh my fucking god, THOSE ARE NOT THE SAME THING. They're just giving you more colors for the regular corner pieces at the cost of the mounts. YOU ALREADY GET THOSE PRE-INSTALLED ON THE STANDARD MODEL

The fucking nerve to project illiteracy onto someone else here.

Also, no one tell me if there are better pre-built PCs I could have gotten for cheaper, I don't want to know.

how do i get some heat in my 7800x3d to stress test the cpu? prime95, cpu-z and cinebench only get it to like 75°C while testmem5 got it to 82°C. what is this bullshit.

stress both the cpu and memory. you run prime95 smal fft + memtest

An RX 9070 XT makes way more sense than any 50 series gpu barring a 5090, but that is stupidly priced. And if the rumors of rdna 5 being 300% faster than rdna4 are true nvidia will be in trouble again, because that time amd's drivers won't suck like in the radeon 6000 era.
>>
>>108229343
amd drivers were always better than nvidia especially on linux
>>
Need GPU help
>RTX 5070 12GB
>RX 9070 XT 16GB
1440 gaming, this is the last decision I need to make to complete my build.
9070 is about $50 more but has more VRAM and seems better on paper, but I have no personal experience with AMD gpus or any of their nvidia-equivalent features.
Most of the benchmark showcases I can find also put the 9070 a fair bit ahead, but they all use bottom of the barrel AAA slop games I'd never play so its hard to derive meaningful value from that.
Is there any reason I should not shell out $50 more for the 9070XT? Or conversely any reason the 5070 should be considered?

My CPU is a 7800x3d and my PSU is 750W if that changes anything.
>>
>>108229380
if you don't care about slop get the amd gpu
>>
>>108229380
I would go 9070xt.
>>
>>108229230
Mi455x is so good that Lisa had to give 20% of AMD for free for someone to use it.
>>
>>108229343
the most significant thing about RDNA 4, and the trend will continue in RDNA 5, is the ray tracing hardware added to the cards. upscaling is good enough that it's no longer a selling feature of a brand, and ray tracing was the last thing Nvidia had over AMD. but Sony wants to push ray tracing on the PS6 so AMD started adding RT hardware to their cards.
so now if you don't have a software stack that requires Nvidia's CUDA, you just buy whatever is the best price in your budget, and ignore the brand.
>>
>>108229380
In a recent blind study of 1,000 people they showed them games at 4k with FRS vs Native vs DLSS 4.5.
Over 50% of the people said DLSS 4.5 looked the best visually.

All games use some kind of up scaling. Nvidia is just doing it best right now.

So I would go with the RTX 5070.
>>
>>108229309
do you have thermal limits set in BIOS, like eco mode?
>>
>>108228961
Is ebay always this filled with scams? I was looking for 5090s, found one for a low price, clicked to see more technical information and only then did i see its actually a 3090. The title and the images used are all 5090 stock images just to further confuse people
>>
>>108229175
>>108229239
>>108229228
So you're posting the wrong picture and get mad at people.
Silicon plugs/pins motherfucker.

And yes, certain pins or plus like the SAV4 come only in brown. Stop being an obtuse faggot and use model # next time instead of misleading people.
Literal autism.

Yes some of the smaller plugs or pins only come in brown. I know this for the 80/90mm PWM/FWM/DC models that they don't sell enough to warrant a black version.
>>
>>108229380
Personally I'd go with the 9070xt for the extra vram. The 5070 would do better ray tracing and upscaling, but since that's mostly for modern slop, it's up to what you're wanting to play.
>>
>>108229476

A 5070Ti makes more sense than a Radeon. It comes with DLSS and CUDA support, also has a better resell value because of this.

SAV2
See attached pic
SAV3 black versions only come with the IS inlet spacer stuff for some reason

SAV4 is brown only - I know
Can't say they will fit the holes on that model as I need to check the metric screws between your swap model and a normal 120 - if it's the same fucking size metric screw then these will work
