>be me>posting just fine>my phone is going very slow, so I wipe my ram to make it faster>suddenly my IP range is blocked to avoid abuseDoes my IP depend on my cookies and my RAM state?
>>108242251I just want to know how it's so few numbers if every machine in the world has its own IP
>>108242259most devices are assigned an internal ip by their router (NAT). then they all share the actual ip connected to the net. As for running out... they already did... thats where ipv6 comes in. Those addresses arent just numbers, but also letters. trillions and trillions of possibilities. not running out likely ever.
>>108242251The IP range was probably blocked before but resetting all processes on RAM likely refreshed the networking configuration. This notified whatever surveillance service 4Chan utilizes (Cloudfront) and because other IP's in your range were flagged, it flagged yours too. Bots often churn through IP's whenever they're flagged and since you reset the networking it didn't have prior session id's to establish a lower fraud score.>>108242259There's something called a NAT gateway. It's why so many IP's look like 192.168.14.88 You have the IP to the router and then the router can just make up IP addresses to your local device. Each internet service provider (ISP) assigns an IP linked to your modem/router. You can also use port forwarding to specify different devices related to a single IP based on the ISP provided IP.
>>108242385Any way to delete most of the 3.5 GB of RAM that firefox uses on my 6GB RAM stick without deleting the 4chan cookies then?
>>108242251Healed from what?
If you delete your cookies 4chan flips a coin to see if you get to post or not. One of the cookies represents your trust rating. If you keep posting without breaking rules your good boy score increases. The message about your IP being banned is a lie.
>>108242251Your ISP uses WAN to distinguish between devices due to ip shortage. Which mean a single IPV4 address is shared between 100+ phones. If one schizo gets that ip banned, so do all the computers that share the same ip.
>>108242719>>108242732oh wow, anything I can do to fix this or should I just leave 4chan? between the timer, the email verification, the several captchas every time I want to post, and the trigger happy jannies I don't think this site is for me
>>108242251Not sure. My mobile data location on google search page is 250 miles away lmfao. Weird desu
>>108242732Damn. I legit didn't know mobile networks were subnetted like that. Kind of fucked.
>mfw I actually learned something on /g/ todayYou guys are alright sometimes

>>108242251I can only post from my phone despite my phone and PC using the same router to connect to the internet and have the same IP (I verified this). I think they recently did something that makes that message appear even if IP is not the problem. Intended feature or bug, who knows.
