we are actually on the brink of total free-internet death & nobody gives a shiti feel like everybody thinks its not gonna happen because we've cried wolf many times before but i'm telling you one of these days in the near future you will turn on your device and you'll just see a message akin to>"in order to proceed, for identity verification purposes, please take a picture of your face and a government issued ID"and there will be no way of bypassing that shit and the realization will set in that your days of shitposting & browsing 4chan & jerking off to anime titties will be over forever. I mean just think about how close we already are: Porn is literally already fully locked down in the UK. Australia has fully banned social media for kids. Discord & twitter has been locked down. And now google, apple, and windows are working on OS level verification. There was a petition in the UK to stop this shit and it got massive support (500k+ supporters) but the government literally jsut said fuck you lol we're gonna keep going. In all seriousness why does nobody give a fuck? i feel like there were more outrage over that net neutrality thing a couple of years back which really wasn't all that serious in retrospect. This current situation however is.
>>108261775modern tech has bipolar disorder:>rewritten in rust form maximum security, rolling release always updated>requires a government ID to use itsecuritards are a joke, I will always use windows 7, fuck you all
>>108261775>WHY ARE WE ALL SO CALMbecause I really don't care>brink of total free-internet death I don't care, more of a reason to go outside>"in order to proceed, for identity verification purposes, please take a picture of your face and a government issued ID"click the poweroff button -> take a book and go outside>Porn is literally already fully locked down in the UKporn is degenerate>Australia has fully banned social media for kids.good, unironically>Discord & twitter has been locked downabsolutely based, never used both btw>And now google, apple, and windows are working on OS level verification.don't carejust chill bro, if you truly need to use some service you will comply anyway and show your ID, if not then you can just forget about it and move onInternet was a mistake

>>108261775>nobody gives a shitMaybe because what you consider the internet, is actually normalfag, lower and middle class slop? And these classes aren't known for profound thinking or self organisation?>Porn, discord, social mediaLiterally, degeneration.

>>108261803and? how does that invalidate my pointit's already enough of a hassle to even post here considering that the website is bleeding users post-hack, the two weeks when it was down I didn't even notice it
>>108261825>and? how does that invalidate my pointit invalidates your point because you claimed not to care & that it wouldn't affect you, yet the fact that you chose to be here in this moment as opposed to doing something else shows that you do have a preference and therefor care if it is taken away.
>>108261821Imagine still getting upset at things you have zero control over. Fuck politics. t. Ancientfag /b/tard, reformed /pol/tard (I'm still racist, I just don't waste energy on media cycles and hand winging)
>>108261775I'm not calm. I've followed the advise and built an offline lan with a fileserver and a windows XP box and a Windows 7 box (I have not taken my windows 10 machoine offline yet or sorted out a linux machine) I have all the drivers and patches and good installs and I have imaged them. I went to thrift and got a HUGE box of pre steam PC games and have been downloading their patches. I have moved and been editing my MP3 collection and filling in some gaps and added some pr0n and movies and shows I like and codecs, I have my python, C and C++ stuff and patches and libraries. I've been downloading my favorite youtube channels. Next I am going to get the offlinne wikipedia and gutenberg thing working. It's actually been fun doing it not a pain like anons say and reminded me of how good we used to have it. I will keep working away until I have everything I want then move my win10 machine on it and add more offline storage and just have fun there and just use a win10 laptop for webmail and 4chan. The internet was never going to survive corporations and governments. The old games are better too, I got sitracted and spent a night playing emepror battle for dune after just installing it off a DVD to have a look, it's really different to the kind of online games they make now and way better really. I followed advise here and just used old OEM motherboards and ISOs and windows XP and 7 just activated off the BIOS.
>>108261821>it wont just be normalfag sitesTbh, whole of "the internet" in it's current form is slop. The people I did grow up with moved onto the next thing, and so I should. The last place I visit is here, and this is pretty tame.
>>108261838i'm gonna start data hoarding giga toowish i had started years ago tho
>>108261835Might as well be here while we still can, it's not gotinng to last long after AI LLMs start floowing it anyway, I'll post until the end (probably fairly soon now) but I am still getting my stuff ready for offline so I can have my own internet.
>>108261835>you claimed not to careyes I don't care about internet inevitabily (assuming it didn't happen already) dying at some point in the future, which is what I saiddoesn't mean that I can't shitpost here when it's still up and available to me while obviously being conscious about the fact taht it's irrelevant>that it wouldn't affect younever said this, it obviously will affect me since I will be forced to change my habits and so on, but that's really not that big of a dealI would rather exercise and read books than stare at random brainrot (what I'm doing right now as we speak) so I don't really care about it being take away>yet the fact that you chose to be here in this moment as opposed to doing something elseone activity is more rewarding and engaging than the others, if this activity is no longer easily accessible I will just switch to something else, that's the whole pointI'm already bored to death
>>108261850It's actually kind of fun. Getting windows 7 right was a bit difficult actually, XP was easy. You have to patch windows 7 in the right way or it does this shit about digital signatues but I got it working perfectly in the end with good drives and AHCI and nvdia drivers. The most diffiocult part was what order to put the patches on and the AHCI. Using XP and Win7 again makes you feel clean, like getting in a shower, offline so no logon, just boots into admin, you can get the OEM isos for them from the internet archive and they just activate immeditaely on the old OEM mother boards.
>>108261835Really faulty argument, I'm guessing made in bad faith by an autist. NTA but 4chan going fully missing would effect me positively. Some things I choose to do aren't logical or beneficial and mindless forum posting should be a 'I could take it or leave it' choice for you. There's arguments to be made for why the issue is worth someone's time. >Modern 4chan might go awayIsn't one of them. >>108261848It's only in retrospect that it becomes fully apparent how much this was just a social interaction simulator and constant novelty stream before other sites got their feeds really refined for holding user interest. That said, I'll see you all got the next 5+ years, betting on 4chan death has been a losing bet for a long, long time. Exploding vans.
>>108261775>we are actually on the brink of total free-internet death & nobody gives a shitgood. fucking. riddance.
>>108261886>just a social interaction simulator and constant novelty streamRegarding my post: the people who I grew up were middle-upper class who could afford computer, and internet in 90's and 00's. Most od them moved onto "good jobs". I did learn a lot about foreign cultures, market, and general task organization in my unc mmos. Vidéo games in théorie current form are slop. Build like movies and gambling addition with busy work sprinkled on top. Social media surround you with people of your sort without exposing to good examples. Algorithmic bubble keeps your enraged and tired instead of mentally stimulated. Porn is degenerate. Discord is full of mentally ill people with too much time, who drag you down.
>>108261886Yes but don't you want your music and compilers and some games, books and videos you like and books so you can just use then? I saw anons posting and realised everything I had was online and it's been getting worse and worse for years really. All my modern stuff does not work without an internet connection, you have to go back to use older software
I'm going to build an offline website for all my game patches. It would be fun to have an offline LLM that was a 4Chan style site you could shitpost on
Offline computers are the future.
Because the people in charge doing this shit are living on borrowed time and this is all a desperation move as they are losing favor and will soon be kicked out of power.
I voted for this
The future is anons writing messagines on the back of bar toilet stalls offering to meet in person to exchage SD flash cards of windows 7 updates for Doom wads and Hdds for old dell motherboards.

Soon we will have id verification for everything, government backed stablecoins as the new currency that will be able to ibflate or deflage straight into you bank account, mass surveillance powered by all the datacenters that will be left over after AI pops, wars will become drone vs drone and teleoperated robot vs teleoperated robot, every job that can be done remotely getting offshored, encryption being made useless by government controlled quantum computers, etc.It is crazy how the only direction every new development is taking is towards the dystopia.

>>108262027I got some 1TB drives from machines that had been moved to SSDs and the XP machine and Win 7 machine for 40$. That was easy getting win7 running nicely was a pain because of the order of patches and the AHCI.

Also, we're still in the early stages of mass offshoring. The quality of the foreigners will improve.
