Because Reddit is a social place with user reputation, downvoting and all the usual problems with society like putting the person before the content so people will pretend to play nice while actually they are hostile via passive-aggressiveness, ostracization and so on. Meanwhile on 4chan people just call you a fucking retard if they think you are one without all the gay-ass theatrics. But it's not like users here are somehow special, if 4chan had mandatory user accounts it would be the same as any other shithole. Now it's a different kind of shithole which is mostly better but I can't fucking fathom why they removed the IP count, 100% anonymity is hell because it makes the low bar of samefagging even lower and introduces more jeetspam. Thread specific IDs across the site would be optimal. Can't shit up a thread with 0 effort but also can't build some kind of gay reputation that changes people's opinions before they even read your post since IDs are nuked after thread is over.
