>>108534107work in progress
>>108534107Hello frens, just installed devuan on my acer nitro.
>>108534208I like that I can see the shape of her toes and I like bluecurve theme>>108534215I don't really care for this one, it says work in progress but I don't see any evidence of that>>108534232I don't care for how your 4chan looksWhy did you install Linux
>>108534107hi frens
>>108534232coziest so far
>>108534107FVWM2GoboLinux (2 weeks of my life trying to wrangle it, i would maintain and fix its issues myself if i knew how to but I have never done distro-level work in my life)Beach pic115M on boot3 gigs with X (including my dockapps), plenty of terminals open across workspaces, a browser (Pale Moon for the sane websites that don't into framework, Firefox for everything else, might try Waterfox because it sounds funny), and plenty of XFE windows open tooOver the course of 3 years, I distrohopped across:DebianAntiXMX LinuxAlpineDebianAlpine againBedrock Linux (with Alpine as the base strata, Arch and Debian)Devuan (I stopped using Windows entirely here)Now I'm here. Conclusion?Every single Linux distribution is the same and I don't like how userspace breaks userspace. Gobo is great but has a glibc from 2019. AppImages fail at life because they need glibc to work. Flatpak doesn't work on here either for some reason. I am reserved and have resigned to seeing how far I can make it with programs that may or may not be force obsolesence'd in the future.I don't like forced obsolesence. People seem to be changing things for the sake of changing things at the expense of the user.I wanted to compile a newer Mesa, but that means pulling in Rust and dependency hell. I'd have to recompile my entire system. And I bet it'd just make everything slower on my hardwareo well atleast i enjoy where i am right now :O
UI is bloat>>108534208>>108534389>>108534442These ones are so good
>>108534389Do you have the wallpaper without asuka?
>>108534376I don't care for the CPU, MEM, and NET widget(s) in the panel. They don't fit in nicely.>>108534389I do not care for this desktop subjectively, but objectively it is well put together.>>108534429very plain, but that is not necessarily bad. I like the shade of green on the wallpaper.>>108534442I would recommend a different color scheme for the terminal emulator, the blue is hard to read in your ls output.>>108534462I like this desktop, it reminds me of the mid 2000s.>>108534481I think there is too little contrast in the terminal emulator
>>108535341Rate me senpai~
>>108534936Here you go.
>>108534389Is this an actual 2000 or some heavily modded modern OS? If it's real than how the hell are you running any modern software on it?
>>108534481this desktop made me look it up and realize all but one of my dwm patches is available for dwlinteresting.
>>108535555colors all match nicelyI hate serifs in typefaces meant to be shown on screens and I also don't like the typeface chosen for your terminal emulator or clock. Is that your entire fvwm menu?
>>108535568>colors all match nicelythanks!>I hate serifs in typefaces meant to be shown on screensi like serifs, it has class, like the pages of a book>termiosevka is goat though?>Is that your entire fvwm menu?no, this is my right click menu, i also have left click menu where i have all my programs and such
>>108534208papes please
>>108535555>>108534208nice paper.>>108534442transparency ruins it.>>108534389very gay.
>>108536024I would prefer to see some open applications rather than basically just your papes, this is /g/ not /wg/ after allAlso I think all those percentages (assuming they are cpu usage) would look better as vertical bar graphs rather than a wall of text
>>108534107she's sleeping already. Shh, Devuan bros party begin
>>108534154pape?
>>108536084I like the way the panel has an effect to round the corners of the pape, I would prefer those same corners be at the top of the pape as well.>>108536123not to my taste, but that's okay
>>108534309Is this pic better?I've used Linux now for around 2.5 years, just experimenting with Devuan since it offers openrc as an option.
>>108536191>Is this pic better?I guess, because I can't see the 4chan looking bad
>>108536049I plain don't give a fuck what you think.
>>108536049Is this your first thread here with me in it? I already know for a fact It's not. You've seen plenty of my applications before, dude.
>>108536321I don't usually look at the desktops people post
>>108536203I don't like how the text in the browser's chrome is xbox hueg compared to all other text
>>108536084did you migrated to the protest meme from debian or made a new install?
>>108536191much better. ignoring the burger menu, cinnamon looks nice here, almost made me forget its java slop
>>108534389OS? mods?
>>10853612310/10Nothing comes close to looking this good in the thread.
It's a desktop
>>108534107Ellllls. I still want your configs inside my browser.
>>108536696one time I made an OS called TidOS and it played the final fantasy victory song when you logged in

>>108536823The REAL Jordan did incredibly creative things before the pickling of his brain. ;_;
Current smellG Gram 17
>>108536123i see the font colours matching with the paper but the dark overall theme on light background ruin it for me (i blame the contrast), theres too much going on that panel as well, your slack rice is better.
>>108536837secret: I pretended I made this in GIMP but I actually made it in Photoshop and then converted to xcf when people asked for the sauce
>>108536859I was there, and I made the XCF conversion myself, but a muddled brain trying to remember a decade old anonymous poster is quite a monumental task, and I wouldn't want to fluster anyone arguing over it.It is still one of the many contributions the REAL Jordan gave complete strangers on /g/ I truly enjoyed. That damn Tennessee whiskey . .
>>108536879comic sans in MY framebuffer?
>>108536879also I believe you when you say you actually did the conversion. I just thought I did it, I am certain I made it in Photoshop though.
>>108536888It is an actual kernel panic, but a 10+ years old hand crafted wallpaper made in MSPaint.
>>108536897>I am certain I made it in Photoshop though. This is also how I remember the fun time. It was a better time and lotsa salt and butthurt over it, too. XD
