>finally get around to getting a google pixel for grapheneOS as i've always wanted for years>eagerly wait 5 days for delivery, very excited>spend 2 hours configuring my phone exactly how i want it, load it up with local music, porn, etc>realize i don't have any friends or girlfriend to communicate with on a phone so i had no reason to buy a new one and my life won't improve
>>108648971buying a new phone is the most unsatisfying purchase you can make these days
>>108648979liar. I just got a new xperia 1 VII amd my life has drastically improved. I love that lil nigga like u wouldn't believe
>>108648971Kinda get this with these private alternative messaging apps. It's cool and all but I have no one to chat with on there
i have 1 person to talk to and i dont think he even considers me a friend
>>108649027>my life has drastically improvedthat's just sad
I boughted an iphone just to see how awful my life can become. wish me luck
>>108648971Having a bunch of people messaging you at once to the point you cant get your shit done isn't any better. And everyone gets offended and upset if you don't meet their messaging standards/expectations. Don't even get me started on group chats and what happens when you aren't participating enough. Absolute hell on earth
>>108648971Now Big Tech will have to work way harder to spy on you. That's the point.
>>108648971If you are into stupid unfulfilling buying experiences I recommend buying a RC boat or plane. You'll be super excited to receive it and never use it ever. I really like this feeling of deep regret so I buy RC boats every month almost
>>108649288it can go two ways - you either become a flaming faggot and become timothy cooked or you learn to tread the line of OS full functionality (especially with wangblows and loonix experience ontop of it) it plays nicely with apple products and can get a lot done with em - and theyre easy enough to still import local [insert favorite audio encode here] files via itunes. it also has some utilities in cross platform usage with windows. even checkm8 on the the X's and older are extremely viable solutions for whatever usecase ya wanan throw at it. dont fall into the walled garden and stay versatilet. 8+ -> 12 -> 15 -> Air from a Moto G4 back in 2016 :^)
>>108649075just don't start exploring telegram, too many dark corners to fall into
>>108648971Good job anon, I'm proud of you
I didn't read the thread but misusing quotes is supposed to be done when being concise. If you're going to write a blog anyway then just make a normal post. There's no need to thank me. Your welcome.
>>108648971Fuck it anon, get a Google voice number (so you don't have to give out your real one) and tell me what it is. I'll be your friend, and coach you in how to socialize with people and maybe even help you get a gf
>closed-source firmware property of Alphabet Incorporated which can't be overwrittenKek anon. It's sad how many people fall for the graphene hoax.
can you use nfc payments on graphmeme yet?
>>108649921You can see this post glow from space.
>>108648971Society is in the shitter, anon. The good news is that everyone is having the same experience and things will change in time.
>>108649964Tbf this is always an interrogation I had with grapheneOS, maybe the software is secure but how are we sure that shitgle doesn't have any hardware backdoors?
>>108648971I really like the all black and white theming. It makes it feel like a cohesive basic smart phone with just the essentials out of the box, and if you want to customize it you get to see as you slowly replace all of the colorless icons with colorful ones that represent something you like. It's dumb, but I think it's a good touch.
>>108649415Such as what? Piracy? I've already been there.
>>108648971lol dude I know that feel. the worst part is when something happens (good or bad) there's just no one. some of the last texts I sent were to some of my high school buds. "dude I got the job" no replies. its been months. I just delete the numbers. but now my phone is empty except for my parents haha. at least I didn't buy the upgraded memory.
>>108649415how do people find things on Telegram? I've been in it for over a decade, it's just my friends and family.
>>108650827This is the most depressing thing I've read this year.
>>108648971Good job, I also fell for this meme. I really like Graphene, but I have EXTREME FOMO right now, because of Game Native and the Tensor G4 sucks, I'm unironically considering getting a chink phone (Poco F6 / Poco F8) starting at 250€ and enjoy it with a fucking Snapdragon Chip........ I just hate the spyware.
>>108650827I'm living a NEET life, but I'm still in contact with my old friends, somehow they still support me, but I don't meet them IRL anymore. But we still game from time to time and chat daily. Can I be your homie?
i'm running this piece of shit on a pixel 7 and still have notifications that are often minutes late, dogshit camera app, still having to use play store apps to exist in the normal world not like an autist recluse, no nfc paymentsi unironically started considering getting an iphone after an ISP technician asked me to scan a qr code to test the wifi network and i fucking fiddled with it for 3 minutes because i used opencam that doesn't scan QR codes and deleted the default camera app literally feels like giving yourself a handicap for an alleged principle that you don't draw any tangible benefit from except muh privacy
>>108651170
>>108651170Sounds like a (you) issue.>QRThe default camera has a QR scanner. If you're removing it you're supposed to install Binary Eye or a camera app with QR scanning.>notificationsYou're supposed to allow your messaging apps to run in background with a persistent notification. If you want a better battery life at the potential cost of privacy you're supposed to install the sandboxed Play Services since it's the Play Services/GMS that's in charge of unified push notifications coming from communication web services.>camera appIf you want to take pretty pictures, you're supposed to use Pixel Camera or one of the GCam builds. The default camera app in most Android phones is dogshit compared to these.>still having to use play store appsThere's literally nothing wrong with this. The source of your apps is irrelevant as long as the apk files can be trusted (which they can, since all apps are signed by developers). You don't need to use the Play Store app specifically, you can use Aurora or APKPure.
>>108651217all of the stuff i need notifications from is set to run in the background and have sandboxed play services. they're still late. also some features like telegram or wa calls do not throw screenwide notification to answer the call despite being allowed to. fair comment on the camera apps. >trust>aurorathanks ranjesh, i'll look into it
>>108651250>they're still lateCan't say I can relate. I've had a Pixel 7a and my wife has a Pixel 7 (yes, with GrapheneOS) and we didn't experience any notification delay. She's a turbo normie so she uses 5 different instant messaging apps and has issues with none of them.
>>108648971Communicating with people is the last reason to buy a phone these days.
>>108648971I got more confident ever since I bought an iphone There's something shameful about picking up my android in a public transport when I want to change songI don't have any friends, I only use my phone for youtube/4chan/porn tbdesu
>>108652093>There's something shameful about picking up my android in a public transport when I want to change songimagine being a grown ass man and actually thinking anyone cares about this
>>108648971I have boughted an iphone 16, while it's a good phone, it's dusting, at this point i think we got phones only for emergencies. I wouldn't buy a phone if it wasn't for family and emergencies
>>108652127Sorry but I hate being judged by normiesBlame my family for always judging what I did, it turned me into an autist
>>108652159>Sorry but I hate being judged by normiesliterally no one over the age of 18 cares what phone you use
>>108648971The point of GOS isn't to securely message your friends. Their Android / IOS is already lekaing all your chat data on their end. The point is that you can now stop the trackers on your end and control how much of your data gets shared.
>>108649964>if you're against corporate-owned closed source firmware on personal devices, you glow!Brilliant anon.
>>108650824More like CP
