It's a bit crazy that so many people buy iPhones when they're so expensive. The cheapest iPhone you can buy from Apple right now is the 17e which is $600.

I was just reading this article which argues that the Google Pixel 10a is a better buy than the Samsung A57

https://www.androidauthority.com/buy-pixel-10a-instead-of-galaxy-a57-reasons-3679789/

I like Samsung but actually I agree with the article that the Pixel 10a is the better buy than the A57, for these reasons:
>Pixel 10a is smaller, so it's easier to use with one hand
>Pixel 10a gets 7 years of security updates, instead of 6 for the A57
>Pixel 10a gets security updates quicker than the A57
>Pixel 10a has a more powerful CPU and especially GPU, according to benchmarks on GSMArena
In my country the Pixel 10a costs a little more if you're comparing the 256GB/8GB models, but you can get a 128GB/8GB model of the Pixel 10a for less money than the 256GB/8GB A57, so I would go for that.
>>
i need a pixel but the fucking hardware is so ass
>>
>>109154098
Which part of the hardware do you not like?
>>

NTA but I've been looking to upgrade from my Pixel 6 to a Pixel 10 Pro recently, don't love pixel but it's good enough i'm happy to go with the devil i know rather than suffer through something unknown:
>battery is mediocre, my old xiaomi/pocophonef1 chinadroids could go for 2 full days even after years of use while my (admittedly very old) pixel 6 drops to 10% every evening
>for about 30% of the year i can't put it on the dashboard of my car in australia, it overheats within 20 seconds, whereas iphones suffer this maybe 15% of the year
as i understand it the Pixel 10 has basically the same weaknesses relative to its current-gen peers, and in both cases i'd say that counts as kinda ass hardware. But I still have no desire to venture out from Pixel, mild temptation to try out top tier Samsung for better hardware but worse software, but the benefit of sticking with what I know to be a pretty good phone series is worth it for me.

The annoying thing is that the Pro XL is always on sale for AU$1300 while the Pro is AU$1400 and while I don't really want the massive one, i'm also fucked if i'm going to pay full price for the regular one while the big one is on a permanent 4-500 dollar discount, given that my 6 works fine and i can just wait a bit longer. I think I'm probably going to just wait for the 11 and pay a lot for whatever suits me best from that gen.

I see. For me any battery above 4,000 mAh should be fine because I don't use a lot of battery during the day. Also when I'm driving I either have my phone in my pocket or in one of the drinks holders. I'd be afraid of the phone getting damaged if I put it in the sun, regardless of whether it warns me it's getting too hot or not. To each their own though.

Tim Cock isn't paying you to defend him on the internet. Clean the sand out of your vagina and deal with it. I get it, you feel like you belong to a special tribe because you bought a phone from a specific brand. That's your claim to fame in this life. It means very little to anybody but you though. I suggest seeking something else to build an identity around. Maybe get really into some obscure genre of music, start a band, get a girlfriend, get into politics, get a hobby. Just about anything would be less pathetic than being the official brand name defender on the anime website.

Fuck your iPhone btw.

You read it you just didn't have anything of value to actually say. Your iPhone hasn't got you laid. Case in point you're arguing with an autistic man on 4chan.org. Your entire self image is a lie and you are wasting your life writing boygenuisreport tier fanboy posts about a consumer electronics brand. You get bullied by nerds.

Is the UniHertz Jelly /g/ approved? I want a small phone so I can use social media less and eventually step closer to getting a dumb phone. They also look cool as hell. Thinking about getting the Jelly Max

Nobody is taking anything a impoverished anon who can't afford flagships over $1,000 has to say. Posting about smartphones on /g/ is what I do, if some anons get salty because of a lack of finances that is not my problem and tbqh is fun watching the misinformation posters having to lie about tech to make it look bad. No one is mad here besides you. :)

It's even crazier when you realize that people tend to buy the most expensive iphones and the cheapest android phones. In the US the best selling phone is even the iphone 17 pro max that costs 1200$ and the best selling android is the Samsung A07/17 that costs 100$-200$.

But I have to say that I would also rather buy an expensive iphone than a cheap android because the software experience is so much better. Android feels so bloated from all the junk that gets preloaded by the different manufacturers. Like having duplicates of every single app on Samsung because they are required to also ship google's default apps and they also add microsoft apps. All the apps also feel like second class citizens compared to iphone and the long term software support is also hit or miss.

On my Samsung phone some apps just don't work anymore at all and I often don't get any notifications when I get a message and the notification system is really bad on this old version of Android I have since I only got 2 years of OS updates. I even had to return the first one because the screen had some green tint to it out of the box. And it also had software problems that froze the whole phone for 5 minutes when using the camera and then crash the whole phone but this was later fixed with an update. This 700$ Samsung phone was the worst tech product I ever bought and I would also never consider buying another android phone again.

iPhone sucks lmao I can buy it but I don't want it. My wife wanted one and I bought her one but I didn't bother getting one for myself. Pour your heart out. Tell me how much that hurts you. Your only love in this world, the cornerstone of your non-existent identity, unfairly rejected! Hahaha if ever there was a doubt in my mind there's an iPhone nearby I can pick up, use, and experience. I don't care for it at all. I think it's a worthless fucking piece of shit. I'd rather use a flip phone.

That which you hold most dear has no meaning to me.

I charge my phone every day but I don't charge it all the way to the top, because batteries degrade faster when they spend time near 100% charge or near 0% charge.
>>
>>109154740
I have a Samsung and mine barely had any preloaded "junk". I just disabled any apps I didn't want to use. And I think you can uninstall them entirely if you use adb, but I'm too lazy for that.
>I only got 2 years of OS updates
That's definitely bad, but these days mid-range Samsungs get 6 years of security updates while flagships get 7 years. I'm not aware of any other maker of cheap/mid-range phones offering 6 years of updates. Google does offer 7 years for recent Pixel a phones, which is excellent, but those cost more than some of the cheaper Samsung phones.
>>
>>109154795
I do the same, between 20 and 80%. I charged to 100% so that DevCheck app could tell my battery health, which was 96% from almost 4 years of use.
>>
Said fuck it and wiped my old phone already. From one glowing rectangle to the next. Screen on new phone is a downgrade but I wanted the SD card slot and headphone jack so fuck it. My new poor person phone is the Tecno Spark 50 5G.

The preloaded apps weren't that bad mostly because you could uninstall them like you said but some are still necessary like having both a PlayStore and Galaxy Store and some apps can only be downloaded and updated through one of them. And when I removed some Google apps it caused some functionality to break like Google Lens broke because I deactivated the google search app. Took some time to figure out why it broke. And despite all this bloat there was no email client installed and the Samsung mail app has some weird issues where some inboxes just don't revceive any mail at all. One time I missed multiple months worth of emails because of this. The hardware still works fine after 5+ years but the software feels like a dragging corpse.

The the OS update support has certainly gotten better since then and is on par with apple now but the cheeky way Samsung scammed me out of updates made me never want to be their customer again. They essentially shipped the phone with an outdated version of android and then a few weeks later they updated it to the current version. This apparently counts as a full year of OS updates to them and so the promised 3 years turned into 2 years. I only bought an "expensive" android phone because I wanted to avoid the jank of cheaper phones but instead it feels like I paid 700$ for a 100$ phone.
