Intel has officially confirmed price increases on select consumer and server processors, citing higher supply costs and sustained demand.

The most significant increases are affecting certain Xeon server CPUs, with some models now costing more than $1,000 above previous pricing.

Each time I work on or try to interface with the case or motherboard on my 7-year old prebuilt computer I find out how it's the most dogshit garbage for cattle in a new retarded way. Just recently I was moving everything to a new case and I found out that it has an external antenna screwed on the front of the case which I ripped apart in a fit of tard rage. I tried ordering a replacement antenna off Amazon but since no one makes those anymore the Chineseium I bought off amazon didn't even assemble properly so I also ripped it apart in another fit of tard rage. After which I finally said FUCK and dropped a wad of money on some parts to replace the last piece of proprietary E-waste the motherboard. I spent $700 on 32GB of RAM but whatever, it'll be the last time I have to deal with retarded PC issues.

I'm guessing the 10080XT will be a cut down AT0 with 384bit bus and 24gb.
the fact is that higher densities will be more expensive and the cards themselves will already be pretty expensive without the additional ram.
maybe if the 10090 sells well they'll release a XT model clocked faster with 48gb.

also whats interesting is because LPDDR5 has 2, 8, 16 and 32gb densities... technically you could have a 256gb 10060XT.

I have an uncle who wants to upgrade his ancient PC to windows 11 for Turbotax. here are his specs:
AMD A4-5300 APU w Radeon HD integrated graphics

only drive is a 500GB WD Blue hard drive from like 2012

It's running win10 right now and it's slow as fuck and the CPU is hitting its limit. I could just make a win11 boot drive to bypass the TPM 2.0 requirement but it would probably be glacially slow and possibly nonfunctional. told him I should probably just buy old, cheap, used mobo, CPU, RAM, etc. that hits the minimum stated specs (16gb of RAM though) and put it in the case (it has a 550W PSU). but I'm also thinking I could skip the new mobo and just get a better FM2 CPU like the A10-7850K, cheap SSD, and 16GB+ of DDR3 RAM

I'm not a pro computer guy. I've only built 3 PCs with modern components running windows 10. I just want to let him do his taxes the way he wants to for cheap since he's old and takes care of my grandma (he wants it to be cheap too). What's the cheapest way to get him on windows 11?

Intel has reportedly restarted production of some 13th and 14th Gen Core desktop processors for the Chinese PC market.

Many PC builders in China are still using DDR4 memory because it is much cheaper than DDR5.
These older Intel processors support DDR4, making them a more affordable option for people building or upgrading a PC.

The report says this is only for the Chinese market, Intel is not bringing these processors back worldwide or replacing its newer Core Ultra lineup.

Meta has found a way to reuse older DDR4 memory in its newest DDR5 servers instead of throwing it away.

The company built a custom chip called Vistara that allows older DDR4 memory to work with modern DDR5 servers.
The slower DDR4 memory stores data that isn’t needed as often, while the faster DDR5 memory handles tasks that need the best performance.

Meta says this lowers costs, reduces electronic waste, and makes better use of existing hardware during the global memory shortage.

The technology is only for data centers and AI servers. It is not designed for gaming PCs or consumer computers.
