>>109675073Well for one thing it now has modern Firefox. Other changes include 3D acceleration through Vulkan for many modern cards, this was really holding it back for a long time. Previously the only way to get 3D was to either use 32-bit BeOS drivers for truly ancient cards, use software rendering, or use one or two experimental drivers for a tiny handful of more modern, but still older, GPUs. That's being tackled now and it's usuable finally.

haiku has absolutely absurd responsiveness bcuz it features a highly multi-threaded kernel derived from NewOS, basically, every window, action, and system application runs on individual threads, meaning menus never "pause" and applications launch nearly instantly, even on weak or old hardware, wtf are we not using this for daily driving? where the program and software decampment for this OS goddamn it?
