My electric hot water system keeps tripping the emergency cut out. I pulled the panel off and checked the wires and got zapped but it wasn't serious. This is costing me a fortune by constantly heating the water back up to have a shower instead of it always being hot. If I only got partly zapped does that mean the earth or ground wire is only partly working? What would cause it to randomly develop an electric short? All the wires seem to be properly connected.
