Enjoy the weekend
>>109967411just make a program to press the random keys for you anon, you got this
Amerisaar
phew what a week am I right bros
>>109967868It's not over for me (I work saturdays)
Remember, it doesn't matter.
I hope a hobo coughs in my face and then stabs me 4 times with a glass shard next Monday so I have an excuse to stop this humiliation ritual
>>109967868It's Wednesday, Lemon.
The atrophy from coastmaxxing and using LLMs finally caught up to me. Started looking around and bombed a coding interview, not that I ever did many of them. Good wakeup call.Actually kind of excited to go through the leetcode ringer because:a) I never really didb) I get to actually use my brainNot sure how long this profession lasts but for once I'm determined to try and climb before it's all over.
ai will not crash as long as you retards keep participating by training agents to fully prompt themselves. literally just go work as a server for a few years or something. your job will definitely go away forever if you keep staying but putting pressure on corpos where systems could easily start failing because the whole thing is now built on a house of generated cards could disrupt everything. these people are running out of time, if you make the transition smooth for them its all over. if you are still prompting you must actually just hate yourself
How do I reject a promotion to Staff without upsetting my boss? We are a company of 400 people, with 3 Staff Members. I know they earn almost double what I do, but I also know they work like slaves even during weekends. They are obviously very proud of it, which is good for them, I guess? But I don't want that shit. I like doing my 9-5 and chilling. I'm not hurting financially or anything. I don't care about the bonus equity either, as we are still years away from an IPO.
>>109968406he may need you to be promoted in order to make him look good. specifically ask if that is the case. if he says that it has no impact on him then say you really appreciate the promotion but you would rather continue to exceed expectations in your current role rather than just meet expectations as a Staff. if he then says you are over thinking it just lay it out there: "I like my 9-5 schedule, and I do not want to end up working overtime+weekends like the Staffs do". if he says that won't happen, then just accept the promotion and thank him.
>>109968406>take promotion>have to do more work but get paid more>don't take promotion>still have to do more work but don't get paid morestop being retarded anon
>>109967913i fear that my slide to not caring is actually laziness if not overt mental illness
>finally feel somewhat competent at work>everything is still broken and fucked upwhy should i have good morale and willingness to engage when everything is fucked up because of the active decisions of people whose names i knowwhy is technical debt not paid in blood
>>109968696gen z's cult of weakness around mental health is really fucking gay>dude im so frickin' twisted like the joker>i am le sad :-(>im going to talk about this with my le therapist
>>109968920i would argue that this contributes not to poor mental health but to poor engineering outcomes>LOL U AINT SHIT JUST DO IT LOLand then it wasn't someone being sad, it's that the device or software are just objectively bad and someone's persistent mental derangement being further triggered by it isn't taken properly as an engineering failure but as someone simply being mentally weak. even if it's as simple as physical hardware, either the bolt is poorly made or the person cries too often. someone crying because they cant turn a bolt is a sign that the person is weak but also that the bolt might be cross-threaded (and thus too easy to cross-thread)
>>109968837you watch snuff to goon no way you are a good dev
>>109968949i never insinuated i am a dev, i am merely a tech. i live in a made-up world governed by capricious demons, maintaining systems made by people, for people, and all those people are only barely real
>>109968956Why would birds have tits?
>>109968970for nutting on
>>109968985>A mammal (from Latin mamma 'breast')Here you go.
>>109968997>tfw Mom means tits
>>109968997A true shame that birds are the cutest and yet the most delicious. The things you love the most are always the most deserving of being destroyed for something else.
>>109968997BUILT for WALNUT PRALINE COATING
I would like to tell the people above or even to the side of me that they are directly responsible for someone having a worse day. Not me, I don't care. it's not my day that's fucked up. The client has had a worse day. Not the organization -- some specific person has had a worse day because of your direct involvement. This is unacceptable.
tgif am i right fellas
what the fuck the stupid leetcode interviews were easy compared to the real job
I wasted 1 week doing shit that should have taken me a day, shit that I had done years before but I forgot.my technical skills and (most importantly) motivation are in the shitter. can't fucking wait to be laidd off.
HOW THE FUCK I GET A JOB IN TECHFUCK ME
>>109969241it happens. just today i had an issue i knew a restart would fix, and restarted the wrong box like 3 times before realizing i was remoted into the wrong one
>>109969248spend a few years crying. one day you will scream loud enough god hears you
>>109969248>>>/g/utwg
i will die mad
>Where's the stakeholder story ticket on your PRThere's not one.>Why not? It's a refactor not a feature request.>You're not supposed to open a PR without a feature requestOur deployment function was a 200+ line single function of assignments and imperative CDK calls. And no logging. I broke it up into seperate files by stack type and put in some console debug output.>So you did this without a stakeholder requesting it?Our build intermittantly times out on staging, and I don't know why.>So ask the LLM.I can't prompt the LLM what to fix if I don't have output of what's breaking.>You can run the command from the harnessOnce again, there is no console output from the deployment function until it times out, and it doesn't happen every time.>Fine. Just attatch it to a feature ticket next time. It's simpler and easier to track if we don't hide an unrelated refactor in a feature request commit>It hurts our velocity.Fuck tickers, fuck this vanity metric bullshit, and fuck me for being too much of a pussy to hand in my resignation right then.
>>109969402Snailcats, hit this nigga with the FN Minimi
More of a corporation/autism question, but if your female coworker invites you and coworkers out, do you hug her when you get there see her? Or just do an awkward wave and "hi"
>>109969445hit her with the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Szg2ulraij4
>>109969445If you don't know, do not hug her.
>>109969445you gotta hit the bitch with some rizz like this https://youtu.be/senNDipdmPo?t=80
>>109969477we've gone out as a small group before and worked with each other for a couple months. I'm on the side of just walk up and do an autism dance
