How do we save the internet?
>>
Let it die
>>
you know how. ban india.
>>
>>109999674
too many outside to matter
>>
>>109999666
I don't think that's possible

as much as some people are nostalgic and making themselves personal blogs or digital gardens, the truth is, nobody has the time for this anymore
>>
>>109999666
Digital ID. You know I'm right.
>>
mobile only. the old internet feel is on platforms like tiktok.
>>
>>109999681
Make everyone submit their ID and if they look Indian or have an even slightly Indian sounding name they're banned
>>
witchcraft, just gunna cost you 1 soul, probably yours
>>
>>109999666
You're well over a decade too late for that. Should have listened to us when we told you this would happen instead of calling us schizos.
>>
>>109999666
I think it's too late, even if let's say the ai bubble bursts, the pandora box has already been opened even before "modern" ai was a thing only now Ai is accelerating internet's death, so unless we get hit by a solar flare or we start having "local" internets like in Cyberpunk then yeah it's over now
>>
>>109999666
we can't, it's ruined and infested
nice trips tho
>>
remove the ability for phones to connect. simple as.
>>
hate the cookies and geolocation prompt but might be necessity for web2.0
>>
>how do we
reddit thread. we're not going to do shit. we're gonna bitch and complain and hope someone else does something.
>>
>>109999666
You can't jeets and sythetic jeets (zoomers) ensure that accounts, registrations, LLM slop, subsciptions, premium 'services', meta, aws. azure, datacentre slop, twitter and reddit tier meh surrounded by adware and spyware is it's final state. The internet now has an IQ of brown and it's never coming back or being useful again.
>>
>>109999666
>999666
Repeating numbers will save the internet, satan.
>>
>>109999666
>we
who the fuck is "we"
>>
>>109999666
I think the real question is what does a post internet world look like? I'm personally constantly on the brink of deleting everything and leaving but I'm a '99 baby and idk how the fuck to exist without it, but when I'm on it it's nothing but robbery and retardation and slop
>>
>>109999688
>nobody has the time for this anymore
because youre too busy watching TV shows and gooning with your wife to ever get a hobby

the problem is zoomers, they literally dont do anything anymore
>>
>>110001485
>they literally dont do anything anymore
For what purpose?
There is no society, and no one wanna continue this ratrace.
>>
just keep posting frogs bro

I have a good collection of 1995-2015 hardware and software. At some point the gay will reach critical mass and that will be all I'll use. I'll get a mini pc to do the few official things online I'll need to do but its getting unplugged between uses. I get why old people just check out of technology. The getting better part is mostly an illusion after a point and what's left is stupid shit they're too old to care about. And now days everything changes so fast by the time you figure it out and get used to it an ai-jeet changed it again. Fucking Firefox changed the UI again, didn't they just do that not long ago? Thats not even considering that every device needs an account and a scan of your rectum now.

enjoy talking to LLMs and bots used by marketing agencies once this place becomes irrelevant with its declining zoomer userbase, retard
>>
>>109999666
new layer.
text only.
proof of work for every block of data, download and upload.
amount of work goes up exponentially for every request.
ip block that does a 1000x first(low pow) request, forever banned.

bots and scrapers need to be annihilated.
>>
>>109999666
Limit it to the western world, Russia and east asia
>>
>>110003386
wow, this sure convinced me, here's my id, officer
>>
>>110003386
sounds like a net positive, all they do is spew retarded shit all day anyway, see sharty
>>
Geo-blocking is the only answer. Even banner and popup ad hell from the early '00 wasn't as bad as the feeling of emptiness that can only come from 2billion >= 1 standard deviation below average iq's that fully invest every corner of electronic discourse.
>>
>>109999666
Most of the ideas in this thread, while good, are twenty years too late: they will no longer work. The only thing that will is:

Each country makes and maintains their own internet, separate and isolated from foreign networks.
>>

>Each country makes and maintains their own internet, separate and isolated from foreign networks.

*Elon puts starling in your path*

And now they're talking about putting datacentres in space
>>
Bully us or ban third worlders from 4chan. I volunteer to be the first third worlder to be banned just from being a shitskin.
>>
Browser CSS standards have progressed so far that it's easier to make websites that look like "new internet" than old internet.
>>
>>110003618
Too late now, 3rd world is coming to everyone
>>
>>109999666
nice trips

>>110003500
I always see this take, but I never see anyone actually putting it into practice. What's stopping (You) from starting your own imageboard that only allows people from certain countries to access it? Japanese imageboards already have such blocking in place, what's stopping you from making something similar?
>>
>>110003686
I do actually have a geo blocked ecommerce website. Was tired of Chinese crawlers and 100's of other inappropriate requests per day.

I could do it. Do you want me to do it? If imagine it would be userless while everyone continues to complain about the ocean of browns and bots on first mover platforms. Social inertia is fucked up like that.
>>
>>109999666
I don't know if there's an internet-wide solution, but in terms of specific spheres, you need gatekeeping and a benevolent dictator type that will ensure his succession. Just look at 4chan, the total lack of barrier to entry means the catalog of just about every board is flooded with garbage. "Fandoms" of anything that isn't strictly controlled by one tyrant figure always fall to slop and normgroidery and decay. It has to be the sort of community that no one can create splinters or, or if they do, ones that would so obviously pale in comparison to the original that they never go anywhere. Realistically, I think quality internet experience has to be limited to small carefully-gatekept groups, and anything more just isn't happening without totally impractical solutions.
>>
>>110003686
Japan is also close to 100% Japanese. This wouldn't work as well for us with the amount of the third world that's moved into the West already, not to mention the whites that might as well be niggers. It would be an improvement, sure, but the low user quality would still be noticeable
>>
too late, top priority is now killing it
