What's the deal with everyone saying that ai produces slop code? I'm working for very profitable small software company in the US and I've built systems that have throughputs of hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions a year that net over 14 million dollars a month in profit and I haven't written a line of code in over a year. I build products completely solo and all it takes are two claude max plans that I switch between when I run out of credits. The model for me is:>intake client needs>produce hand written plan for intent>use claude to research the best methods for implementing intentions>ignore claude's tech stack recommendations and replace with google based services>have claude create build specification as sole source of truth for the build>correct ai retardation through conversation when it misunderstands intent>iterate on and adversarially review plan>build in phases and test using playwrite>when it's done test manually end to end and fill gapsfucking simple as m8 and that shit is done while claude cries the entire time that a team of 1 could never do all this work. The most important thing I have to do is remind claude that we should be doing shit in parallel or using rollups or some shit but really if you have a degree that shit is obvious and even if you're a total retard "why is dashboard slow" it will probably recommend that you parallelize/virtualize the fetches. before you say some shit about how my systems suck, they get utilized by accountants and analysts if I was fucking up trust me I would hear about it. I hate using ai btw it's extremely boring.

I don't understand the point OP is trying to make.Google is one of the wealthiest most successful tech companies on Earth. Their code and their employees are still bad. Mediocrity can survive several generations when you have more money than God to burn and customers are locked in combined with no better alternatives.Just because your code gets accepted and you get paid doesn't really speak to the quality of the technical more than it does the business and/or market.Maybe you do a horrible job, and that's okay in your bosses eyes because the client will pay anyway.

The newest models are much more reliable if you use the spec to build, then retire it after the model is done with testing the first pass.It used to be the case that specs were useful for passing into the models as context, but now the models are able to read any files that they need into their context automatically. Keeping a separate spec for the model to reference as ground truth just created two ground truths that will inevitably start to come into conflict with one another. If the model has to make a decision, it should do so based on the code alone- separate documentation will poison its context window.The code IS the documentation. Having supplemental documentation everywhere is just asking for contradictions.
