As you know, in some countries ID verification is being implemented on social media for 'children's safety'.How can we get around this? The only idea I have is using a Residential Proxy, but if system looks at the account's original creation location, this becomes invalid. Or, if there is an AI on the platform, it might understand which country we are in by scanning posts. What are your thoughts /g/?
I don't care because I don't use social media.
>>110072798But some of us do care.
>>110072957If you're using a platform, it's because you derive some value out of it. Following accounts, posting, scrolling content, whatever you're into. The platform provides those features to you, and it sets the rules on acceptable use. If those rules changed, you really have very few options because they have the final say on how people use their platform; you can try workarounds, but as you point out they make efforts to suss those out, and it's not a realistic way to approach your identity privacy online. You need to make a real decision on whether or not the value you gain using the platform outweighs the cost of providing ID to them. If the new policies cross the line for you, stop using the platform. It's really that simple and is the clearest way to signal your objections to the platform itself. Whether or not you can effectively signal your objections to the legislators that precipitated these changes is up for debate, but that's not really something we can help you with.

>>110073049You're right... But there's a need for diversity. I like IBs (I'm not just talking about 4chan), but I can't spend time exclusively on IBs. After a certain point, it starts to get boring. >>110073055I wish it would work. I guess not enough to explain, /g/ is /g/, not /pol/
