https://www.techpowerup.com/353738/tcl-readies-700-hz-oled-panels-for-2028
>TCL's panel arm, TCL CSOT (China Star), is planning OLED monitor panels with refresh rates of up to 700 Hz, according to a new Omdia report on OLED monitor shipments. The panels will apparently come from TCL's Gen 8.6 inkjet-printed (IJP) OLED line in Guangzhou, which is expected to begin production in 2028, and will include larger sizes such as 32-inch and 34-inch. No resolutions were given, and it's not clear whether 700 Hz will be a native refresh rate or a dual-mode setting at a lower resolution. TCL is starting smaller, with its Gen 5.5 line set to ship 27-inch UHD 120 Hz IJP OLED panels in Q3 2026 for an MSI content-creation monitor. If the 2028 timeline pans out, TCL could be the first to mass-produce IJP OLED monitor panels at Gen 8.6.

Good sign for TCL's inkjet printed RGB OLED roadmap as they already are supplying MSI with their 27" 4K@120hz panels as we speak which should go on sale in Janaury for $699.

Should I upgrade/downgrade my CPU from 5900X to 5800X3D? GPU is 5090 and I don't like that my fps is low.

Within a few months of unveiling DLSS5 (usable DLL, not just the official release), Nvidia has halved the performance cost of using it. It is still heavy but 50% of the cost (added on milliseconds of processing time) is a lot.
This is known as "making the right choice" and "being a creature with long term abstract planning".

I just bought 1500€ worth of a hardware upgrade from Amazon. I have never spent that much for PC parts before, a full high-mid-range build including the monitor and peripherals in 2019 cost me 1200€. I almost feel sick. On top of that I have no idea if I'm able to install them without shitting something up. I have examined every single specification down to the tenth of a millimeter to see if everything matches and qualifies, yet I'm still doubtful.
Please tell me it's gonna be alright.

MSI is still making solid boards. Tomahawk is one of the cheapest boards with POST code display.
X870 is in reality just B650E with USB4.0 support.
X870E is X670E with USB4.0.
So don't spend too much on motherboard it's not worth it.
Avoid AssRock because they have higher than normal chance of killing your X3D chip.

I sold my 5070ti because it had nonstop driver issues

when is nvidia going to fix their drivers on linux & windows they are worse than amd now

Nvidia forums are nothing but driver issues unresolved for months if not years

Nvidia mega thread is full of driver issues on reddit and also on guru3d that place is older than 4chan and it's nonstop Nvidia issues there.

>NVIDIA says 617.70 resolves some, but not all, cases of the black-screen issue. The company continues investigating the remaining cases
>NVIDIA recommends opening NVIDIA Control Panel, selecting Manage 3D Settings, and changing Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.
>A separate problem involving G-SYNC becoming unavailable after a monitor wakes from sleep also remains under investigation.

Yeah bro just disable VRR & make your GPU run at 150+ Watts at idle to "mitigate" the Nvidia driver issues

The whole fukken world has driver issues on Nvidia on both Windows & Linux anyone saying it just works it's a fucking lying bitch faggot

Im talking driver timeouts, crashes, stutterings, low frame rates, screen flickering, issues with multi monitor setup, the gpu itself behaving erratically
>>
>>110081225
Yeah Nvidia is terrible hardware & software now. If the GPU doesnt catch on fire then your drivers will!

Want to know what exactly caused this to avoid next time if I ever make a new build if anyone has any ideas.
>go on holiday for 2 and a half weeks
>leave pc off, with PSU plugged in but power switched off and wall socket switched off.
>come back, PC works fine for a few days
>suddenly on the 4th day my external usbs keep disconnecting and reconnecting
>Close what i'm doing, give the PC a quick restart
>board LED lights up on DRAM
>Test all parts that I can by swapping out to older known good parts and rule out RAM, CPU and PSU
>Replace motherboard and it all works fine again (every other part used again)
Motherboard was Asus B550-F Wifi II (replaced with the same motherboard) , running 7700XT and 5800X with 2x16gb corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 3600mhz. The system ran perfectly for 3 years with zero issues before this and the case was only ever opened up for dusting and reapplying thermal paste once a year aside from CPU/GPU upgrades.
Only things I can think of aside from the PC being left for a few weeks was that the BIOS was a year out of date, and I swapped from the Radeon default drivers to the "optional" drivers the day before because Witcher 3 was saying my drivers were out of date.

Thank you Anon.
>going from a Ryzen 3600 to a 9850X3D, any recommendations for motherboards?
First of all I don't advise the 9850X3D but rather the 9800X3D becuse the xx50 variant is a big fat meme. It gives a max 1.5% performance boost but with more than 20% more power consumption, 10°C more in use, and it costs at least 60€ more. It's a literal meme.
I suggest the X870E series from ASUS but not ASrock because I read it cooks the CPUs. Either the Prime or above-range depending on your needs. I just got a ProArt X870E because I need the SATA ports but I would have gotten the Prime if it had more than 2 ports. It's also 200€ less. I like ASUS.
>>110080927
I'm upgrading your mum to a granny, congratulations.
I'm changing mobo, CPU, heatsink, and RAM of course. Good deals from Amazon but I'm stressing out, but it's just probably the coffee I should be fine.
It's the computer case and GPU and drives I keep. It's already a decent build here that I have, but with the upgrades I should get a three-fold boost in performances. 1500€ almost annihilated my bank account but selling the current hardware I should be able to tank it down to 900-1100€ of an upgrade.
>>110081025
To be completely honest I drank a whole mug of thick black coffee early this morning and I rinsed my lunch sandwich with a Red Bull, just after ordering the parts and before posting. It's making me sweat but in reality as the caffeine is leaving my body and I'm coming back to my senses it should actually be alright. The motherboard as EZ Flash and the anti-crash BIOS update functionality, I have spent more than 3 days scouring every part of the computer Internet to be sure I'm not doing wrong, I have also bought a bundle of coloured USB sticks to put every update/OS/backups on...
Thanks for the encouragement.

Odd that the 9850X3D isn't much of an upgrade at all, from what I could see it's only about a £10 difference, but if it's running hotter for so little gain I'll save the tenner and get the 9800X3D instead.
