Welcome to the second general thread for The Order of the Machine Tower.>What is The Order of the Machine Tower? The Order of the Machine Tower is a society dedicated to Technomancy: the idea that modern technology, software, electricity, and AI are forms of "magic" able to accomplish feats once attributed to the mystic arts. Our members seek to master and advance this craft by sharing knowledge, refining code, and exploring the boundaries of conventional techniques.Tech / Science News>Nvidia is no longer a PC gaming company. I know the summary I put in the original post isn't the greatest, but it was pretty hard trying to condense the entire ethos of the Order into something that will fit in a post (less than 2,000 characters).>>110085807Won't lie, always liked those guys.

>>110089242>>110089242So I wasnt in the last thread, but I have something Ive been searching for. Does anyone know of an AI that can ACTUALLY sort files well? I have several large hard drives with 100+ terabytes of data at this point, a lot of it unorganized or organized poorly. Doing it by hand sucks, and it would be great if there was an AI that could do it for me, or at least do it "good enough" and I could fix up the mistakes when I find them

>>110084530My earlier post got removed for some reason, but I want an answer. Are you guys going to make SMT real?
>>110093000Thanks! Yeah, looking through the thread I see that some people I responded to previously were removed. I was nice to them, so their comments must have been perfectly polite and on topic as well. I don't know why they would have been removed while other garbage stayed. Thanks for sharing more news!I am thinking about using Github Community Forms for a sort of guestbook/comment section. I will just link it from my main site. That way if a bad actor spams it up, my main site will remain untouched. It will also allow me to make easy backups, so if a spammer goes on a spree I can just revert it to the day before and all the legitimate comments would be saved (maybe). You theoretically don't have to make a Github account or provide personal data to comment, but I will do some testing before I actually commit to using it.>>110092856There is nothing "Satanic" about our group. Unless you subscribe to the belief that nephilim taught man all basic technology, and therefore all advancement is evil. If that is the case, this probably isn't the place for you. Nor is the internet.>>110093054Glad to hear it! Always happy to have new people interested! As a side note, I was also thinking of setting up a RSS feed on my site that would notify people when I make these generals. I was considering this because: a) it's old and tested, b) it's easy to maintain, and c) users can unsubscribe at any time if they find it annoying. Would this be something you guys would be interested in?
>>110093372I'm not quite seeing the contradiction between these and the Order. Systems theory is a useful framework for understanding how interacting components produce complex behavior, and natural law concerns philosophical questions about principles grounded in nature and reason. Neither seems inherently opposed to what I'm proposing. The Order isn't arguing that technology violates natural laws or that we should replace scientific explanations with vague supernatural ones. The point is that understanding how something works doesn't mean we have to stop finding it remarkable, and that looking at technology through an unconventional lens can inspire new questions and experiments. These experiments can lead to new discoveries that completely change our current understanding. If anything, systems theory seems quite relevant to that goal. I'm happy to discuss any specific contradiction you see, but I don't think either article, by itself, refutes the premise.>>110095920At the moment I have no idea how one would digitize life forms and use them to crawl dungeons, combat opponents, and level up. If anyone has ideas, I am more than happy to hear them.
>>110096295Yes all advancements in technology have been turned malicious. Mostly thanks to AI btw.
>>110096321This is one of the most brain dead takes I have ever read. I hope you are trolling, but given the recent reactions I have seen people have to technological advancement, you probably aren't.The most primitive AI wasn't even realized until the 1950s. By that time, man had already developed machine guns, tanks, chemical weapons, advanced espionage tools, and the nuclear bomb. His thoughts were already turned toward malicious deeds long before the idea of AI was even a twinkle in Turing's eye.You are also ignoring the great benefits technological progress has granted us. Farming allowed us to settle in homes instead of forever wandering. We developed tools to shape the earth instead of breaking our backs. We developed methods of cleaning water and curing disease, no longer having to worry that a trip to the local watering hole would spell our demise. If you truly believe that technological progress is evil, then why are you on the internet, basking in it's benefits? Log off, go out into the wilderness, and wander the earth. Live off of berries and whatever small creatures you can catch with your hands. Don't make tools, because that is technological progress. Don't make fire, because that is technological progress. Live your primitive life in peace, happy and free, until an infected bug bite or the chilly air takes you out. Doing anything less is to abandon your principles.

>>110097048>Lacked the ability to read my rebuttal to his retarded claim>Admits he couldn't read it>Thinks this is a winYou got me. I won't waste my time responding to you any more. Though, since you hate how human progress has impacted the environment so much, I am assuming you are going to log off the internet (uses electricity), leave your mud hut (disrupts animal habitats), and go live out in the wilderness without any tools (tech is bad and malicious). You wouldn't want to be a hypocrite, now would you?I wish you the best of luck, I really do.
>>110089917Really depends on what files they are and how you need to sort them. Generally I would reach for deepseek here, because it's super cheap and just intelligent enough that it can bruteforce a lot of problems like this without running up a big bill.
>>110097198Why would I read your retarded babble? Go fuck a toaster
I've been feeling kind of weird about my AI use lately. I've spent a lot of time in the last 6 months or so building an intuition for how the models work, their jagged edges, and ways that they can be wrangled to where I can now do a ton of shit that I really have no business being able to do. This feels like being a decent but non-technical manager where you're completely divorced from the technical abilities of your reports yet you keep the team productive by just giving them what they need, pointing them in the right direction, and getting out of their way. On the one hand it would be nice to slow down the workflows and properly learn the stuff that my agents are doing, but on the other hand I have a bunch of ways to make them prove that the work was done correctly so doing this would tank my productivity while not really increasing my ability to use these tools effectively. I've been trying to cope with this feeling by spending my (now idle) working hours trying to close the gap between my skills and the stuff my agents are doing, which is realistically a lot of time since 90% of the time my sessions are just grinding away in the background, but that gap feels absolutely massive right now.Anybody else in a similar situation?

>>110098021>I'm currently learning about AI and local models because I feel that's the future of creative and productive AI useOh yeah I fell down that rabbithole about 10 years ago and never really climbed out, I was hooked the second I saw bishopfox demonstrating what an RNN-LSTM hooked up to metasploit could do. I've been following and playing around with the tech ever since, but IMO it wasn't until around 6 months or so ago that they actually got good at doing stuff in my field. It was partly that experience that let me hit the ground running to productize them. It's not the underlying technology of LLMs that I'm getting lost in, it's their ability to do my actual work. I just know that if I don't try to bridge the gap somehow my skills are just going to decay. But IDK maybe fully embracing the ML engineering and research side is a better answer than trying to keep up with the machine.
>>110098346Your shitty insults only betray you. Humans are shit, you I am certain of is total shit. All roads to hell are paved with good intentions. The people developing these technologies are nihilists.

>>110098346Just ignore that guy, he's clearly going through something. You're not going to win a fight with someone like that.>>110097859I understand where you are coming from. When I first started with AI, I was amazed at the amount of things I could produce that would have taken me years to try and put together. I also understand that nagging feeling that your agents might be messing things up, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It's always good to double check people's work. That goes for both humans and AI.>>110098021I also feel like local models are the future. Obviously, the big cloud models will get the new technologies first, but for AI to really shine people need to have local instances running on their own machines with their own data.>>110098130Yes, he could of used a lighter. But you seem to forget that something as simple as a lighter is also a marvel of human engineering. We just take it for granted since it is so common now. If you went back and handed a lighter to a bunch of tribal cavemen, they would kill each other for it (assuming you showed them how it works).>>110098392Yet you still saw my post and responded. Thanks for bumping the thread I guess?
>>110098306I really like this art! I would be happy to use it somewhere on the "unofficial homepage" I have set up (with credit, of course). The one thing I'd still like to have is a simplified version of the crest itself. My original idea was something closer to a traditional logo. Something simple enough that you could draw it with a few lines and recognize it at a glance.I think there's value in having both: the more elaborate artwork for presentation, and a simple, recognizable symbol that members can easily reproduce and use themselves. And to be clear, I'm not particularly attached to my original design. If someone comes up with a better simplified crest, I'd be more than happy to use theirs instead! I care more about finding a symbol that works for the Order than having it be my own creation. That being said,>>110098458If people don't like the name, it's not a hill I am going to die on. I chose the "tower" part for a few reasons.1. I thought it sounded cool.2. Legends always describe scholars and mages in towers close to the stars, so I wanted to invoke that imagery.3. I have always thought that the cell/radio towers that dot the land are a testament to mankind’s ingenuity, and I wont get into personal details but I have some family history with them.4. Mostly I just thought it was cool. But if everyone else doesn't like it, I am fine with changing the name. It's kind of like if I buy a hat that I think looks cool. If I wear it out in public, and everyone tells me it looks dumb, and my family tells me it looks dumb, and I go to work and my boss tells me I look like an idiot, then the hat is probably not as cool as I thought it was.

The noosphere, for those unfamiliar, was theorized by Russian biogeochemist Vladimir Vernadsky to be the next stage of human evolution. Essentially, humans would develop a third sphere, where our thoughts and reason would impact the planet. Later thinkers would expand on this idea, turning it into a sort of psuedo collective consciousness. Princeton runs a small project that studies the idea of the noosphere via RNG. Some have claimed that the internet is the realization of the noosphere. What are all of your thoughts on this idea?

Let him bump the thread for us and move on.>>110101949I have heard a bit about this concept before, though I am no expert. In the original "pitch" I made for the Order, I talked about how the internet is essentially the collective manifestation of the human unconscious, so that is definitely an idea that I personally subscribe to. I am interested in the Princeton project you mentioned, I will be looking into it further.>>110102906Thanks, when I revamp the page I will add it! Art is definitely a form of "magic" in it's own right. I think memes, and how powerful they have proven to be, are proof of how effective art can be at distilling even complex ideas down into something easily understood.
>>110102092I agree that it is a fun metaphor, but I disagree with the assertion that "the people who created these things didn't subscribe to this philosophy...they subscribed to a hardcore empirical scientific methodology". While the personal beliefs and philosophies of the great minds of the past were indeed all over the place, they were united by two things: curiosity and the willingness to try new things. The alchemists who created our modern chemistry were not employing "hardcore empirical scientific methodology" while they were guzzling their own cum and trying to talk to angels. Psychedelics and new age beliefs are widely documented as being highly influential in the early days of Silicon Valley culture. The Order itself is not one particular philosophical school or hard belief system. It is a way of looking at technology and it's relation with the world. Curiosity and the willingness to explore new ideas are what this Order stands for, and I would argue that is extremely important, especially in the modern age where so much discourse around the future of technology has become jaded, and any "unconventional" idea is dismissed before it can be fully explored.
>>110102954I think this would be a really cool idea. I haven't had the chance to play around with any new smart glasses yet, but I love the idea of a heads up display. As far as DLSS 5 on Google Earth, I feel like that would cause some major privacy concerns, as well as being extremely resource intensive. At the same time, that's never stopped Google before, so if they think they can get something out of it I am sure they would try.>>110102958Thank you for the encouragement, and for sharing more stories! That sounds like a good idea, as long as you have some sort of hard coded network speed requirement for members. I have heard of petals before, and I think a project like this has a lot of potential! It is kind of disappointing how angry a technology board can get over the discussion of new tech ideas. Especially when so much of that anger seems to be directed at the existence of AI, which I am not the creator of. Love it or hate it, pretending it is not one of the most prominent technologies in the modern world is just stupid.
>>110103603Thank you for making more art, it looks great! Once I finish getting the comment system back end fine tuned, and the group decides if they like the "tower" part of the name or not, I can set up a poll to decide what should be the new logo.>>110105480Not that anon, but SMT is a video game series based on a sci fi (kinda?) light novel. The games are pretty good, Strange Journey is my favorite. As a general update, I will have the comment back end for the website set up and integrated by tonight. I am using a project that makes use of GitHub, so that way if someone posts something illicit before I can catch it, it's on Microsoft's servers. The downside is that you will need a GitHub account to post comments. The upside is that it will make it slightly easier to ban spammers, so that is nice.
>>110102092You know you can take pieces of philosophy from other people without believing in their entire philosophy?
>>110096307You misunderstood, I was just trying to introduce him to the kind of thing this general may revolve around.>At the moment I have no idea how one would digitize life forms and use them to crawl dungeons, combat opponents, and level up. If anyone has ideas, I am more than happy to hear them.Really? It would be very easy, I've vibecoded similar things before and you can even make the creatures be a primitive AI and do all kinds of complex and interesting things, an AI dungeon crawler sounds really fun and not hard to make at all, and the possibilities for different game mechanics and interactions seems infinite. Here's the kind of thing that is easily made. It plays immediately.https://evobots.ai/world/
>>110106548I did indeed misunderstand. I have been arguing with a lot of people the past few days, so I just assumed it was another detractor, that was my bad.As to what that other anon was talking about, he was asking about making SMT real. I know we can code a dungeon crawling game like SMT. I was referring to the current impossibility of taking actual lifeforms, digitizing them, using those lifeforms for physical real world combat, and boosting real human characteristics like strength or intelligence. That is the sort of thing the demon summoning program lets the characters do in the SMT video game. The only thing I can think of that is even remotely close is the possibility of downloading "skills" on something like a Neuralink one day.I took a look at the link you shared. It’s a very interesting concept! reminds me a bit of Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld.
>>110106996I wouldn't bother arguing too much with detractors, most of them don't have much vision and just regurgitate talking points from their favorite social media celebrity, onwards and upwards through the noise. Also, I'm starting a very small project involving journals for the order, it's about half done so it will probably be posted here very soon. Also, I'll try to post the thread on Wednesdays and you can do Fridays if you like.
>>110093372>underageb& linking to random entry level wiki articles like it's some profound revelationDunning kruger ahh postThis garbage LARP thread belongs on /x/, but as usual tranny jannies won't do their unpaid jobs
>>110107155If you don't like the thread, don't use it, no one's forcing you, janny.
>>110106996Ok here's my project, I have written a small paper about a proposed temporary organizational structure of /tow/, I have also created a system template for people to post papers and things in a master paste which links to all the other papers and your charter. My paper, organizational systems: https://pastes.io/hosRR0QcThe master paste: https://pastes.io/2I5h9by5The idea is that we can accumulate knowledge, ideas, learning tools all from a simple central hub as a starting point for our projects and organizational development.
>>110106463Well said, pic related.>>110084530I like where you're going with this concept. I recently was visiting someone, and I was entertaining how technology and the direction AI is going seems oddly similar to how magic was describe, and the potential for abundance and to move AI in the realm of creation of physical matter given enough energy and innovation. Then I came across this thread and got excited. I'm currently spinning up a virtual machine and I'll experiment with the Aletheia project you have on your main page. I'll let you know what I think and come up with. Cheers, anon.
>110107039You're probably right. I am also fine with that set up if you are OK with taking on that responsibility.>110107778That is an interesting coincidence, though maybe one could take it as a sign that people all over are waking up to the true potential of the tools we have around us. Thank you very much for checking out my project! I will warn you, as it is right now, 8b models perform extremely poorly. I have had luck with 14b+.There is an upcoming model called Ajax that is supposed to be made to power a local agent tool called Oddysseus (made by PewDiePie of all people, how times change). If he actually pulls off making a model that can run an agent well and is only 9b, I was planning on making a specialized version of Aletheia to go with it.>110107474Thank you for taking the time to write a paper for the Order! We are finally moving in the direction I was hoping for when I proposed this idea a few weeks ago.I am a big fan behind the idea: building a central hub for our groups knowledge. A sort of library where we can publish our own research, theories, whatever with each other. As to the paper itself:I think it is a useful starting point for thinking about how the Order should organize itself and how members can contribute. I particularly like the emphasis on keeping the structure adaptable rather than treating it as dogma, as well as the idea of having technical, philosophical, miscellaneous, and organizational projects. I want the Order to be a place where people can contribute in different ways, whether that's building something, documenting an experiment, writing down an idea, or exploring a philosophical question. These are ideas we can try, discuss, and refine as the Order develops. I welcome this as a contribution to that process!
>>110108102It's been a long day. I always type my responses in a doc to check spelling before I post them, but I accidentally green texted instead of responding. My bad!>>110107039You're probably...>>110107778That is...>>110107474Thank you...Time for me to go to bed. Goodnight all!
>>110108102Dayum your scbool shooter manifestro must be real wordy and boring to read too. Full of the most obvious shit for anyone with an IQ over 80, but somehow you think your self a genious with all that self wankery
>>110108102Thank you very much, I already have a wealth of ideas on both the technical and philosophical side, and it will be interesting to see how far it can get, but the most important thing is enjoying it, and it has been very interesting to see all the different ideas and facts I didn't know that people come up with as well as your little site which already looks pretty good and it's been less than 2 weeks! But slow and steady wins the race, fair well and goodnight.
>>110108261>geniouskekked
>>110108261Great, he did his thread now use all that brilliant insight you have and make a thread in the same spirit or add something insightful or fun. But you won't, you'll just be a miserable faggot, giving your shit input because you have nothing to give.
>>110108102Yeah, it's one of those moments in time where the impossibly large ideas seem to be in reach now, and that makes me excited, especially as a developer that started coding over 20 years ago. That being said, I'll experiment with some different ways to optimize AI so most users can take advantage of this tool, and perhaps make the deployment more portable. Keeping the option to use the Silly Tavern extension, but move it more towards a standalone local running web application, so it still has the cross platform utilization.I'll likely start my own repo, and share it here so the progress can be tracked.
I found an interesting post about the origin of 'magical' words and their etymology, unfortunately it's from r*ddit but i found it interesting.https://www.reddit.com/r/magicbuilding/comments/ieoij2/a_glossary_of_common_terms_in_magic_systems/
>>110108310Why? You stubborn, shortsighted retards keep ignoring my points, which is you do not belong here.
>>110108310I enjoy the silly arguments, spice of life.>>110108411Based, maybe I'm delusional but I really feel like the first person to really make local models powerful and accessible will be the next Anthropic and catch everyone by surprise, I can't even imagine the possibilities when the technology is scaled down, the fact alone that potential investors can actually try out the product unlimitedly is a big money chute and we've already seen this market dynamic to some extent in the large model companies, the first person to localize AI properly and then offer a pro version along with it will be a very rich man and make everyone else richer in the process too.
>>110084530AI is insanely cool but it will ruin my future
>>110108489>I'm delusionalBingo
>>110108417I used that and put it in the op's software.>>110108489Just have to keep it simple, I'll approach it by simply playing with it to keep it in the lane of using the tools and not deviate out of that. Although I don't want to get ahead of myself. I'll post more after I've done some playing around and reading.
>>110108498Very insightful post, thank you for your input.>>110108495How? If you don't adapt to it you might suffer yes, but that's true of any technology and life in general. Chefs use advanced ovens instead of cooking over a fire, usually anyway, theoretically AI should stimulate the economy, the only economic concern is really overregulation or an inflationary bubble.
>>110108547Needs more meme arrows and greentexts. That's the only way you retards absorb information nowadays
>>110108561Sure, it's a nothingburger just ignore it.
>>110108547Very cool, if the AI generated that summary it seems very accurate, I might have to try op's AI. And yes I agree, simplicity and clarity is key with AI.
>>110108575You can see that curve starts well before 2020, this has little to do with AI and more to do with the government's disastrous printing of trillions of dollars, which is indeed something to be concerned about and perhaps AI can limit the damage of the crash, although I agree states shouldnt be artificially inflating AI companies. I doubt your position is very nuanced on this though and essentially boils down to "AI is le bad cause ecelebs and media terrified me". Fear must be tempered by reason and not controlling you.
>>110108578I'm using Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-Uncensored-HauhauCS-Aggressive-Q4_K_M.gguf with silly tavern and project the op provided from their github I got from their site. That's just a model I already have loaded in, I'll experiment with smaller ones, I first wanted to test out the project and make my own refinements.
>>110108607Oh yeah just ignore that the gov is all in on AI now
>>110108608Also, the model is hosted in LM Studio.
>>110108435"You don't belong here" isn't a factual "point", it's an assertion. Also, even if it was a "point", it is singular, not multiple "points". Screaming "you don't belong here" isn't an argument. If anyone is the retard it's you.
>>110108624Your shit doesn't stand up to scrutiny, several others pointed out that too. Therefore discord your best option if shit hurts your fee fees
>>110108608>>110108614Thanks, I'm just getting to grips with Ollama but i've heard good things about LMstudio
>>110108637Clearly its not me who has my "fee fees" hurt. You claim that this "shit" doesn't stand up to scrutiny, and that it has been pointed out multiple times. Want to go back in this thread and point out where that actually happened? Because I hate to break it to you, but I think you need to up your schizo meds, because you are hallucinating things. And no, posts where tards like you (or more likely, literally you) ree and scream "retard", "fag", "larp", etc. aren't "scrutiny". You aren't debunking anything, because you can't, so you just resort to chimping out like the animal you are.
>>110102092Like this anon pointed out>>110108701Yeah must be hard to see from all these walls of texts where you retards blow smoke up each others asses with your pseudoscience and half wit ignorant takes
>>110108724What point are you making. Yes, carpenters used hammers, nails, and saws to build cabinets, and then on Sunday they go to church and pray to god. And maybe that church had a program that churned out a lot of gohappy carpenters that built a village using said tools and praising a god at the same time. Are you just here to tell those carpenters to stfu or do actually care about building shit?
>>110108758What are you building exactly? A cult? Go drink the coolaid then
>>110108724That guy didn't disprove anything. He made a vague claim about "people" and then also admitted that those same "people" had personal philosophies that were all over the place. Not to mention this response>>110106077was a complete rebuttal to it.So no, your one single example is not actually a valid example. You also made the claim earlier that it has been scrutinized "multiple times", so obviously you have another example, right? After making such big claims, you wouldn't want egg on your face, right retard anon?
>>110108763It's spelt Kool Aid you uncultured swine. You put respect on that name.
>>110108772I don't agree with that halfwits disagreement, it's all full of hopium that rejects reality
>>110108782Keep drinking it mongoloid
>>110108788>"I don't agree."Not a factual rebuttal.>"It's all full of hopium"How dare that guy have hope. He should be miserable like you.>"It rejects reality"Once again, you are making an assertion, but not providing any evidence. SHOW what part of it is wrong. All you do is spew empty platitudes and cry that everyone else is wrong. Actually SHOW what part of this claim is FACTUALLY INCORRECT or go rope yourself.
>>110084530Is software even magic anymore? Before, only programmers and nerds could cast "spells" and tell the computer what to do. Now, with ai, anyone can do it. So in a sense nobody has special powers.
>>110108763Newton devoted enormous effort to theology and alchemy. Kepler believed that uncovering the mathematical order of the universe was a way of understanding God’s creation.Their metaphysical beliefs didn’t invalidate their craftsmanship or scientific discoveries. Nor did those beliefs exempt their work from empirical scrutiny.A carpenter’s faith doesn’t hold the cabinet together. His craftsmanship does. But his faith might be the very reason he was inspired to build it.You still haven’t identified a single false technical claim. You’ve just gone from bitching about pseudoscience and cults because you apparently can’t distinguish someone’s philosophical motivation from the validity of their work. Are you interested in what people build, or just offended by what inspires them?
>>110108821Nah I ain't playing these semantic games, go do your mental gymnastics at special olympics you mental midget
>>110108782OH YEAH
>>110108841The point is we know better now than to circlejerk about philosophy, making hasty half assed conclusions on a technology that is development is straight up retarded
>>110108823Yes, it just widens the breadth of what can be made. Think of coding as the deeper layer of understanding and manipulation, a fine tuned magic where precision is of concern, kind of what assembly was to higher level languages. And AI is just the next abstraction above that.
>>110108823Even with AI, most normies are incapable of using it to their advantage, not having the AI use them. And those are the normies that aren't outright terrified of it. The people who possess the qualifications to make use of it and actually understand what is going on are still a very small portion of the population. The masses will be clapping their hands like seals at singing puppies and kittens reading their horoscope. Lets say a wizard handed you a magic book. It can produce a fireball, but the book scares you, you can't read it, and you have no way of making magic books of your own. Are you now a wizard?
>>110108845>Asks you to provide proof for your claims>No, I'm not going to play semantic games! You are the retard, not me!No wonder you can't understand what is going on in this thread. Every discussion about technology or philosophy must seem like magic to you. Does your helper know you are on the internet unsupervised?
>>110108874The first version of the Matrix was rejected
>>110108886Nigga I'm running local AI myself kek. The halfwit is (You)
>>110108823I would argue this is an even higher form of magic than profane commands, this is a form of direction, and the fact it's accessible to everyone makes it even more powerful if you're good at it and really have insight into how you're directing the system, yes it's less immediate than coding, but we are literally commanding the code to bring itself into existence, like in Fantasia's the sorcerors apprentice where mickey the wizard makes the chairs become animate and they start dancing and cleaning up for him, it really is incredible and a dream of the imagination that that's even possible.
>>110108901Basically everyone on this board is running a local AI, that doesn't make you special. And you don't need to lie to me to try to "fit in", we all know you can't afford any machine capable of running AI. No one in your third world nation can.
>>110108912The age of the 40 yo incel wizard is upon us! Rejoice!
>>110108924Boo hoo, someon in the know disagrees with your crackpot theology.
>>110108857110108857I’m not so certain we do. Reductionism has its uses and limitations, but there’s a danger in mistaking a useful framework for reality itself. The map is not the territory. Philosophy isn’t something humanity outgrew with the scientific method. The very assumptions underlying our methods of inquiry are themselves open to philosophical examination. There’s a difference between exploring the implications of emerging technology and claiming those speculations are established facts. If someone is doing the latter, challenge the actual claims. Otherwise, you’re just dismissing a framework because you dislike how people conceptualize their relationship with technology.
>>110086647A cute woman giving you a massage will always be better than a robot, I'll pay the difference thereEverything else, yeah you're right
>>110108937Then why are you retards so vehemenently rejecting any points of views that contradict your dogma?
>>110108933>Can't provide evidence>Claims to be in the know>Thinks technology is theology>"someon"Yep, I definitely believe you are a tech elite and not a seething faggot coping that he has too low of an IQ to understand the world around him. You've convinced me.
>>110108944We've been over this tard. "I hate you! Go away!" isn't a point of view. Provide EVIDENCE for the ASSERTIONS that you are making, or LEAVE.
>>110108945Your low effort shitposting doesn't deserve a thesis. All you've been doing is going no u and other logical fallacies
>>110108949Nah, I see right through your charades
>>110108927Seriously bro what is the point of your incessant seething? It's a waste of time for your own sake. I get seething at the world sometimes but to do it obsessively is probably a sign that what makes you seethe is within you and you should look within for the solution, but do what you want it's your choice.
>>110108874>Lets say a wizard handed you a magic book. It can produce a fireball, but the book scares you, you can't read it, and you have no way of making magic books of your own. Are you now a wizard?A more appropriate analogy would be: let's say someone hands you a magic book that, even without reading it, as long as you hold it, it allows you to throw fireballs. Is there anything special about the "wizard" that can throw smaller fireballs without a book?
>>110108970You're on 4chan lol, this place is nothing but pure hatred
>>110108874>>110108973Also let's say this book allows you to write other books without understanding what you are writing.
>>110108973Dayum next we're gonna get food analogies, those always land lol
>>110108963>Provide evidence>Nah>I'm very scientific btwKek, your posts are very silly, I hope you learn a little subtlety about such issues one day.
>>110108944>>110108963lol, are you full now, troll?
>>110108999Well, you already decided to reject anything I say because the truth makes you butthurt.
>>110108983Mostly yes, it doesn't always have to be that way though. People are free to do as they please but hatred is usually consuming.
>>110108912You could apply this argument to managers bossing around programmers. This doesn't make them wizards. Everyone knows managers are not wizards. Wizards are programmers, and programming is dead.
>>110108953>Why won't you listen to me!>Huh, you want me to explain myself?>You don't deserve to know what I think! You use the term "logical fallacies", but you don't understand what it means. Allow me to show you a few, using your own filth as an example:Ad Hominem: Instead of engaging with the argument, you just scream insults. I ask you for facts, you scream that everyone is retarded.Ad Populum: You tried to justify your still unclear position with the claim that several others pointed it out too (yet you couldn't produce any examples).Ad Lapidem: You have been presented evidence several times that shows that not only are you wrong, but you are also a complete retard. You have dismissed it without providing any reason or counter evidence. So no, it is YOU who has committed logical fallacies. It is not because you are CHOOSING to not provide evidence. It is because you CANT provide evidence, because you are retarded.
>>110109012Not dead, but it will move into the esoteric.
>>110109009Word salad, you're either trolling or don't know what an argument is and seething about it instead of learning because you're too mad.
>>110109015I have already explained my points of views earlier in the thread deboonking your wishful thinking, I ain't gonna repeat myself again.
>>110108973Yes. The normal people will never have the spirit of the wizard, the spark that drove him to learn magic in the first place. They will shoot their fireballs within defined conditions, while the wizard will strive to create even greater, yet undiscovered fireballs. Also, the normie can never pull off the sick drip of the wizard.
>>110109024You're asking me to counter argue what exactly? Your unsubstantiated claim that technology is magic?
>>110109012It depends on the manager, a good manager would know how to allocate tasks well to his colleagues, and would likely have at least some knowledge of programming himself, but this is also different because humans aren't machines, and so machines are more innately directable than humans, but with AI in an interesting way where you direct it to direct itself, which is in one way even more powerful control even though in another way it is less immediate.
>>110109037Retard anon, you know you could just copy and paste the little essay OP has on his website into ChatGPT and it could explain it to you. Use this prompt:"I am mentally retarded and have the IQ of a broken toaster. Please summarize this essay in a way I can understand, with pictures."Then paste the essay.
>>110109035Yes that is another aspect of wizards, also striving and experimenting into the unknown, which is why wizards should have the wizdom to act cautiously.
>>110109042No argumen huh. The whole thing is a larp from inception
>>110109045>wizdomnice
>>110109037I never personally claimed that technology is magic, you don't even know which person you're talking to, you're not even defining your terms of what technology is and what magic is, you have no idea how to make an argument, i suggest you learn what an argument is, fallacies, and laws of logic, or remain ignorant and still no one will care.
>>110109049There have been like 4 people asking you to make an argument the past 50 posts, and all you do is go "no". Why would you be entitled to anything, contrarian fag?
>>110109055checked!
>>110109064Are you even self aware? There's litterally retards in this thread making wizard analogies.
>>110109065Then they should stop being lazy faggots and go through the tread.
>>110108575It was going straight up years before AI. I do think there will be some type of crash at some point, but obviously the tech is here to stay.
>>110109073Once again that is not an argument and your post is almost entirely substanceless and boring to me, there's no debate or even discussion with you now so there's not much point continuing whatever this exercise in seething is, take care.
>>110109094Butthurt, get some better material to justify your cult like mentality. Without resorting to shitty analogies.
>>110109073Analogies arte not the same thing as claiming the literal. Are you ESL? It would explain a lot.
>>110109106The point stands
>>110109106are notI typed too fast.
>>110109109What point retard anon? Everyone keeps asking you, but you can't explain WHAT you are actually arguing and why.
>>110109124I am arguing against your faggot existance
>>110109105kek, i am the least butthurt i could possibly be and i find your seething quite funny, i have no ill will against you just letting you know you could increase your understand tenfold just by trying to learn a little of how to argue and debate back and forth with logic and so on instead of resorting to adhominem insults, but it's your choice, take care.
>>110109135Do you not believe we exist (physically), or do you believe we shouldn't exist (morally). You need to be a bit more specific. Please, retard anon, I just want to understand you.
>>110109142The point is your whole worldview is narrow. You probably only go out to buy toilet paper and subsist on foodora
>>110109159Bitch don't start with your games, the whole ass thing can be attributed to that Steve Jobs quote where he claimed that technology would get so advanced it would be indescirnable from magic. He was tech illiterate as they come. You really wanna ape that?
>>110109172Retard anon, don't call people illiterate while attributing that quote to Steve Jobs. He was quoting Arthur Clarke, who was not wrong by the way. And I am sorry retard anon, but I have no confidence that you, someone who can barely string together a sentence and is incapable of basic logic, is more tech literate than Steve Jobs.
>>110109193Oh yeah, good one a sci fi author that barely touched computers. Get some better material for your wankery before you start to believe Star Wars was a documentary
>>110109203Retard anon, "technology" is more than just computers. You also don't have to be a computer wiz (did that make you flinch) to make note of a historical trend.Anyway, its been fun, but I am heading to bed. You should too, since you clearly need some sleep.
>>110109218Thanks I just woke up tho. Next time trying to construct a wordview, don't go with sci fi authors as your base then asking other to counter argue with facts'n shiet when the whole ass thing doesn't stand on its own legs
