I brought two adoptables. One was for thirty five dollars, the other for sixty. The thirty five dollar one was fairly close to my ideal so I didnt make any changes to it, got art of it right away. The sixty dollar one I regret, because that is generally too much for an adoptable, even the centaur type that I brought. I sent it to another artist on skeb to gender-based it. In hindsight I should have just put that sixty dollars towards a fully custom skeb commission. I could always just describe it with words and use similar references from the internet.
I really need to look into organising some animated comms some time, I would have requested Harai a long time ago if I wasn't put off by their 52% complete rate and how much other people of all kinds are probably trying to comm them.

This site also has color sets that look naturally aesthetic so you can consult it as well: https://sanzo-wada.dmbk.io/- If you use genAI at all, only use it for brainstorming ideas. Never, ever send a genAI creation or edit to an artist and ask them to recreate it. There will 100% be shitty, gobblygook details that are incomprehensible to the artist, and it WILL piss them off even if they pretend they aren't. It's better to find photos of fashion items you like and make a photobash of the stuff you thought up from the genAI slop, than to directly send the slop to the artist.- Major (immediately obvious) asymmetrical features like heterochromia or different pants/skirt length on left and right sides should not exceed 2. More minor asymmetrical features like accessories or certain hairstyles you can have a few more of but don't spam them.- Have at least a basic personality in mind when requesting your OC design so their design will compliment that. Even better if you have lore ready and are able to conceptualize how they're react in certain situations you want them to be drawn in. If they are in a romantic/sexual relationship (i.e. not just a rape victim) then try to imagine how they normally act around their partner.- It helps for your OC to have a specific age and height for future artists to work off of.- This is optional but if you're getting a girl OC who wears a skirt/dress it's nice to have reference images for what kind of underwear she wears for consistency, so if you can, get the original artist to provide that. If not then just ask another artist later on.
