The major question is perhaps "how could the ANC avoided becoming as ridiculously corrupt as they now are?" Therein lies the truth. Ironically, they not only treat the general population like shit, but also enforce their own apartheid policies against whites, who pretty much have no chances of getting employed by black-owned business owners or in the public sector. Small-minded blacks and self-hating whites will justify this as "righteous" revenge, but this is exactly the sort of mindset Mandela wanted to avoid; hence why he didn't try to punish all involved in apartheid once the system had been dismantled.
