Iran's already reduced to holding the strait of Hormuz hostage as its only bargaining chip. The US called their bluff on retaliation and Iran is pretty much powerless to stop US aggression, so it's a war of attrition that greatly favors the United States, since they still have access to global trade and are virtually untouched at home, while Iran's industrial capacity is continuously degraded by bombings. The longer the conflict goes on, the more the US will expand its list of acceptable targets. If degrading Iran's civilian infrastructure is the only way to degrade its military capabilities, the US will eventually resort to that. Who is going to stop them? Not Iran.
