Anyone here use Krita?

I'm having trouble finding the best way to flat color my lineart without crippling any possibility of further rendering (shading, highlights, etc.).

Hello beglet.
First of all you are supposed to use /beg general >>7141295
Secondly you could just use google and find krita wiki
https://docs.krita.org/en/tutorials/common_workflows.html#laying-in-flat-colors

And finally what you asked for: pic related.
1. never draw on background layer, lock it
2. draw lineart on its own layer. set its mode to multiply mode
3. mark the lineart layer with green tag (right click, hit green)
then create new layer, call it color and put it UNDER the lineart layer, select it as active
4. select bucket tool (shift+G), then in tool option select the 2nd fill mode
5. in reference select 3rd option and choose the same color you set in 3. (green)
6. select grow to be at least 2px, maybe even more

With this setup you now just pick color and click the appropriate area. You can see how the layers look like in bottom right.

Happy drawing!
