found this shit on a reddit shitpost(forgot which one hence the mspaint improvise)is it a truly good alt method to loomis or is it shit? why?
>>7716684This is effectively the same technique as what Loomis teaches: constructing forms out of simple shapes and measuring the placement of details. You have not escaped the Buddha's hand.
what's the point of this when you still have to eyeball everything even with the loomis method anyway
>>7716684Yep, well done, you found the hidden trick, now you can finally start drawing!
>>7717727>lol just draw and fix your head shape for fifty billionth time because it looks wonkypiss off
>>7716684This is part of the loomis method. Like, you're still using it.
>>7717726>Draw circle>Chin is exactly half the circles length from circle>Told exactly where to place the facial features>"You have to eyeball everything"How specific do you want the dead guy to be? Do the Reilly method if you want even more guide rails. Hell, Jack Hamm, another favourite of manga/anime artists, gives a lot of rules for the feature placement (the bottom of the lips being one eye length from the bottom of the nose, and the top of lips being half an eyes length from the bottom of the nose, for example). Some people will find that shit too restrictive, and that it sucks the fun out of drawing.Just do what works for you, and is still enjoyable (the most important thing, why do this if you don't have fun with that pencil?)
