Have you ever created a work of art that is as good as this drawing? If not, what do you think you lack that is keeping you from this level of skill?
No, I can't say I ever drew something that launched a billion dollar franchise.
>>7719818yes and I got banned for posting it
>>7719821That's not really the point. Plenty of bad art is commercially successful. I mean strictly in terms of art quality.
>>7719818>Have you ever created a work of art that is as good as this drawing?I don't know. it's really hard for me to judge my own work. also, how do you quantify how good an artwork is?
>>7719818if its so good, then if I posted it on my twitter it'll get a million likes, right?
>>7719823whats your metric for art quality? Are you judging based purely on technical ability and execution or more subjective elements like storytelling?
>>7719910It's partly subjective ofc, but for me an artwork is good if it expressing something true. It might just be the gesture of a finger or the shadow around the nose or the poise of the figure, but something about the piece accords with the world as we see it.
>>7719914No, social media is a terrible arbiter. I see brilliant work ignored and crap work lauded all the time.
>>7719918I think artists use all sorts of techniques in search of some truth in the world. A good artist can draw stick figures that carry truth even if the art itself isn't that detailed.
>>7719939jesse what the fuck are you talking about
>>7719818God I love this. One of my favorite drawings
>>7719971The face has such brilliant draftsmanship to me.
>>7719818>what do you think you lack that is keeping you from this level of skill?Mileage. I'm confident I will eventually get there.
>>7719818Is the artist a pedo?
>>7721189No.
>>7720002Absolutely. Divinely subtle
>>7721175based
>>7719818Times have changedThey'll think of me as a creep if I draw something like that
