Why does /ic/ encourage every method to improve except the one thing that's proven to make you improve the fastest, which is drawing from life?
>>7726425You're surprised that encouraging anons to leave their house, to meet up with other people, and to stare at another living breathing person during a life drawing session, isn't advocated on this site of all places?...Jokes aside, it's also not the most applicable advice. I definitely have no life drawing sessions near me.If we're just talking about drawing random shit that's around me - well that's dull, and I'd rather just give up drawing all together than draw a used coffee cup or whatever you're asking for.
>>7726447You can't go to a park and draw people and animals? Or a cafe? Or wander around the city and draw buildings? Or go to the zoo and draw animals there? Or draw construction crews? I guarantee you have fun stuff to draw near your house.
>>7726451leaving the house is scary
>>7726425What other methods, anon?
>>7726425Many on here do not leave their houses often and are temporarily online. Especially the Gen Z posters
>>7726425Because drawing from life fags are weirdly obsessed with it and I draw for fun, not as some sort of race to get good enough to finally be happy with my work
Drawing from life is extremely boring to me.Tried drawing trees, animals, myself sitting somewhere, all of that is just fucking boring when I can boot up Photoshop, get some nice refs and paint to my heart's content. Not only that but drawing from life inherently wastes time by forcing you to move to some location. You can't iterate quickly either since traditional is not for that, which makes is suboptimal improvement-wise. The reality is, you could be an excellent draftsman without touching a pencil once in your life, that's a fact.
