In the last days and weeks I feel like I'm hitting a roadblock.

What do you do in these cases when all you try seems to bring out worse results?

Also as an unrelated question, do you ever switch your style? I'm curious if I should try anime style to avoid being burned out by my awful results.

To a /beg like me it looks way easier than traditional stuff?

how long have you taken to draw that? it looks rushed out. i replied to you before in teh beg thread, but you dont seem to listen to when i say you should take your time, especially when measuring details and sketching it out first before drawing them right. you need to be aware of the negative space and shadows and put them in the right size and place before you do any detail, especially when drawing form reference. you're still very much in your symbol phase. next time you draw a face, put the reference upside down and draw only what you see and take your damn time. its most crucial you invest enough time when learning

also, there was no reason to post a thread, just stay in /beg/

I was asking for different things, hence I posted it here too get feedback about the different questions.

Concerning your remarks it took over 45 minutes of starting, deleting all, restarting, deleting in a complete loop of getting worse each time even if I was using a reference.

these are all /beg/ related questions. either way, cartoons and manga/anime can be good for learning as well, since the lines are already present and its easier to copy, but you cant underestimate the time spent. 45 minutes for a single realistic portrait is still too little time. thats the time you should spend just measuring and recreating the shapes to an approximate size.

here, i added steps to a recent portrait of mine, and i only "clicked" 2 months ago, so this is still all somewhat amateurish. i've been drawing daily since 8 months now and only sporadically since childhood doing shitty manga doodles. this is the amount of time you NEED to sacrifice, which you are clearly not ready to do yet. you have to commit, otherwise, dont even bother.

all in all, pick easier subjects to copy and kill your symbol drawing, so you only get to drawing what is actually there. no winging it. draw some fruit from life. draw some objects like cups and whatnot. not portraits. not yet.

Thanks for your heads-up. I'm currently drawing 1 hour a day everyday. I'm not devoting too much time on a single subject because I think I need to practice various subjects, and mostly because I'm unhappy oh how v they turn midway.

It was helpful

Stop worrying about results. Focus on putting the hours in and having fun. The results will come over time. The more you fixate on results the faster you will burn out.
>but how do I enjoy drawing when I suck?
If you sincerely cannot enjoy drawing while being beg, you should pick a different hobby.

very much this

I do have some joy when I see something remotely good coming out, makes me wish to keep up.

And I'm doing since June.

Don't listen to that dude, you will get impatient with your drawing skill no matter who you are. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, sometimes you draw shit and the only thing you can do is tighten up the process see where you went wrong and fix it on your next attempt.

My draftmanship sucked bad for the first major amount of time I've spent drawing. I was at your level for about 4-5 months. Luckily, I like drawing, so I got over myself and kept at it. I quickly learned that style means nothing if you can't draw, and learning to draw means learning from qualified individuals, not cartoons on Instagram. Master studies works better than any Pinterest tutorial you'll ever find.

as i said earlier, do simpler subjects. apples, bananas, other fruits or whatever. when you go swimming, you dont jump in the water, you get a little wet first.

>you will get impatient with your drawing skill no matter who you are
This is called projection. You are attributing your own feelings onto other people in order to rationalize your feelings without dealing with them. No matter how much you cope and seethe, many people do not feel this way. I enjoy every single time I draw. So do 99% of my peers in my art classes. You, the guy who is depressed and angry at not being "good enough" are the vast minority.

this is a major point and you're right. one shouldnt be worried with doing it right, but with having fun foremost. thats if youre doing art that is of course. if youre just producing products and creating content, thats a different story. if you willingly choose to be another cog in the jewish money machine, you will never be an artist in the first place.

Yeah like I said, if the only thing you enjoy about drawing is quality of output, this hobby is not a good fit for you. You'll just end up becoming this guy >>7727932, bitter and impatient, viewing art as a "grind", only working for results, no passion, curiosity or expression. It sounds like you don't enjoy the art process, you only enjoy producing works you are happy or impressed by. I mean this sincerely, people like you are the people who invented AI for this sole purpose. I highly suggest you familiarize yourself with Stable Diffusion, as do I recommend it to this guy >>7727932. All you want is output, and this will entirely skip the learning and growth periods that seem to upset you so much.
>HOW DARE YOU TELL ME TO USE AI REEEE!!!
You're the one walking the journey you hate just to get to the destination. Why are you forcing yourself to do something you hate?

>This is called projection.

You know we both agree on the message only I don't think he should give up art because he's not having fun with a rough patch. I enjoy drawing, but like many I don't enjoy doing perspective should I quit drawing or take my medicine with a spoon full of sugar? It's really stupid to even say that, the person hasn't learned how they learned yet. I don't like exercise at first but when I get 20/30 mins into it I enjoy it, should I quit exercising too? You have solid advice but then come to a shit conclusion that last line.

> bitter and impatient

This is grade A projection where in that sentence I said I didn't like art? Having a shit result, remaking it and seeing the progress is one of the most rewarding things art gives me. You are allowed to have doubts and troubles while doing art, at the end of the day there will be aspects that you don't fully fall in love with.
>>
>>7727965
We got a negative nancy over here
>>
>>7727965
I'm totally neutral to AI, and I perfectly know how to use, install, script, make my own lora, etc etc

But as I said many times I find drawing a way to relieve stress, even if I'm disappointed in my results.

And I'm quite sure I'll keep improving on them, given that my stuff from months ago was far worse lol

Maybe in a month forward it'll less ugly.
>>

I'd second this, and I'll add to it. AI art cannot be copyrighted in its purest form. At best, it can be used in a photobash, of which stock photos work better, or it can be used for marketing campaigns like what Bethesda softworks use it for.
You can still make money from art, though I'd wager that most industry jobs will become very boring as a result. The jobs won't be gone, they'll just morph at bit. Copyright is copyright, and companies love IP.
