Hey guys long time lurker here. Recently I've had several mental breakdowns and a quarter life crisis of sorts. I'm turning 25 in a couple of months, and I realized I've done nothing with my life.
I'm rewatching SoulEater since it has helped me to calm down in the past. I'm a complete pre-pre-beg when it comes to art. Just give it to me straight if it's possible to get this good by 30. I'm not gonna use art to make money, but maybe create something in the future and share it with you guys to please my soul. Anyways thanks for reading my schizobable, I'll stop lurking / making useless posts.

Yeah pretty much, if you really wanted to you could probably get even better

Is it possible to lose my virginity and find love by 30
>>

Facts.

You have no idéa how far dedication and good work ethics will get you. It's like when you actually apply yourself and stop with the distractions and proctastination you see you're playing a different game entirely. Go. See for yourself. It's an incredibly satisfying journey of self discovery. You beat the inner critic, societal expectations and opinions when you see that it's possible. When you realize it was always possible. You just conviced yourself otherwise.
I started taking art seriously at your age. See you up there brother. Keep the momentum going.
>>
>>7729151
No. You will fail. If you were ever going to make art like this you would already be drawing and engaged in art. You wouldn't be making this stupid post.
>>
>>7729151
I thought you were going to say how much Ohkubo improve his art during his adulthood and not just only pity yourself. Anyways take care Anon and keep drawing.

Nope it's doomed

Why is the art in nu shounen much more serious and technically better than whatever was popular back in the 2000s or so? I swear millennials have the shittiest of taste

You think this is funny?
>>
>>7729535
at 25 you are barely a fully developed adult
your life is just beginning
>>
>>7729550
except for the fact that your perception of time accelerates, neural plasticity is already decreasing , and most people learn key skills during their childhood / teenage years. Goodluck OP you're fucked, have fun drawing boxes your entire life.
>>
>>7729151
No give up. drawing is one of the most useless skills you can casually enter. Try getting into photography or something, at least you will be going outside.
>>
>>7729151
Don't think too hard about it, just start drawing. If you struggle with something read a book about it and keep drawing. As long as you practice relatively consistently you'll get better overtime. Stop visiting this board (and this website). Most of the posts here are just random Internet drama, culture war boogie man of the week, and straight up ragebait. There's a reason why anyone serious about drawing doesn't stay here for very long.

>5 years
no but you can get to a good intermediate if you don't burn out
SE art is really good
Something people don't know and never consider is that young mangaka have assistants, and among those assistants there's often someone who's older and way more skilled than the artist himself. There are assistants who are 50+ years old and draw like gods because they've been doing it for a lifetime. They are hired because they are competent and are a good reason why manga by these young artists look incredibly solid despite the absurd pace at which they're released. It's delusional to believe that a guy getting serialized only gets help from a few rookies who fill blacks and screentones and xerox backgrounds. So don't get depressed if you can't draw like some shonen mangaka in 5 years, they get help.

yeah it's over zoomertard brain

>>7729151
my nigga why are you asking us? draw or don't draw stop wasting time thinking
>>

>DID YOU JUST SPOIL FIRE FORCE FOR ME, BITCHASS?

Also, from similar experience, I shat myself at 25, quit being a beg shut-in artist with big dreams but no proper study routine or art workflow, and instead went and got a tech degree with the zoomers - shit move btw. Anyway, I was studying and drawing stuff gradually on the side, and now, im 30 and at a good SKILL-LEVEL where I could get paid - So yes, it is possible.

However I'm also inconsistent as fuck, and conditions need to be just right to find any kind of flow, and I have fuck all time to draw because I need to pay bills. My question is why the fuck would you want to be drawing at 30 without being able to feed yourself? Is that how you think art should be or something?

I'd say that learning to think more realistically might benefit you in art and for life in general. Sincerely, I wish you good luck.

Ignore the fudchuds, they have no soul. Here's your lesson plan:
>Draw shit from imagination
>Copy construction/primitives from photo ref
>30s, 1m, 2m Gesture Poses -- 100 each
>Focused copy of a photograph in one sitting
>Focused copy of an artist you like in one sitting
>Repeat
Do at least one of these every day for five years and you'll exceed your goal. Maximum 1 rest day per week. Pick subject matter that interests you to prevent boredom. Instead of comparing yourself to your goals, compare yourself to your earlier work.
When you feel like you're ready start a small project to highlight knowledge gaps and multiply gains.
Good luck.

It's possible to get this good in two years if you're obsessive enough. Hell, maybe one year.

But you're way more likely to do so if you enjoy the learning process and aren't just grinding, anon.

I'm trying to get rid of the 2000s faux anime beg faces, but is this close enough if I did it completely going off imagination? :c
>>
yeah. i never drew until 26 and it worked out for me. everyone says oh you gotta drill 12 hours a day or it's over. that's a really dumb mindset imo. i only do a couple drawings a day when the mood is right. just chill out, draw, try to make something cool, and then think about how you couldve done it better. make some tea even. if you just relax & reflect on your art you'll advance so quickly.
