I have no visual library, no mind's eye and the opposite of a natural gift when it comes to visual arts.I cant even imagine anything and my hand is unsteady. I grip my pencils like chrischan does. What do i do? I really want to draw and have wanted to be able to do it since forever.I'll do anything to get better.
>>7757060>I'll do anything to get better.Even sell your soul?
>>7757064Does a man who cant imagine an apple even have one to begin with?
>>7757067you bring up a valid point
>>7757060Just draw from reference, like a competent artist.
>>7757114Really bad at that as well altho not as bad as i am aith xrawing from imagination.I'm really ass at managing space and keeping proportions right. Also just the sheer manual ability sucks. My penmansbip is awful.
>>7757060>I really want to drawWhy?
>>7757060this is the work of an artist with aphantasiano excuses, anonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8aws1yDM-0&t=5443s
>>7757060>no visual library or minds eyemost of the people claiming to have these are charlatans posing as savants. They use references. As long as you have working vision you're good.
>>7757177Sure, though people's memory capacity varies a lot. Having greater recall will absolutely make you a better artist, its why Jung Gi was so good at what he did without construction even. I have shit recall. I muddle through pictures for weeks, going through reference after reference until I eventually get there, but this rules out making a living off art in the modern ways that other artists do. Kinda depressing.Still, no excuses.
>>7757187I've put in less than 50 hours of practice throguhout years of thinking about doing it so i might also not be retarded but just lazy. Idk i wouldnt knownfor sure. How many hours should you put in before declaring defeat?
I suck and am ass. Tho.
>>7757633>sunk cost:>50 hours CLOSE THIS FUCKING THREAD NOW
>>7757641I dont have a sunk cost. My point is that i hadnt done much so i wouldn't know for sure i'm destined to fail.
this site is made for you https://drawabox.com/
>>7757653I tried it once and got filtered HARD.I probably should pay for irl lessons but i'm scared of people and flat broke.
>>7757158Because i want to.
>>7757647JUUUUUSSTTT FUCKKKING DRAWWWWW. Draw and be sad that you suck! So tired of never gonna make it perma /beg/s fretting about time and age and whatever else instead of just doing some fucking studies. You're just looking for excuses not to try at this point.
>>7757716What exactly do i do?Do i just copy or do i do shapes until it clicks or look up pcitures of people and try to illustrate those?
>>7757659This website is literally designed for absolute beginners what the hell?I ain't gonna sugarcoat it but if you got filtered on this then there's a high chance you're not gonna like drawing at all.You like the end result but you hate the process, not tolerating it but hating it hence why you're not doing anything and finding any excuses not to draw, get a discipline or something.
>>7757733>Do i just copyYes>do i do shapes until it clicksYes>look up pcitures of people and try to illustrate those?YES you absolute faggot, just stop asking and fucking draw SOMETHING holy shit
>>7757162>goyslop-tuber fanarthow inspiring
>>7757757the vtuber made it herself and she actually draws and is successful unlike you lmaoimagine getting mogged into oblivion by an italian who plays games pretending to be a cartoon cat!
>>7757674I understood it the first time, but what's the motivation, or is it just a whim?
This is year 2 of this guy making the same exact thread and people still falling for it
>>7757786I'm studying law rn btw.I dont rly care about it i just wish i could draw well.Do you think i could do it if i started earnestly today?
>>7757839>I dont rly care about itthen we shouldn't care about helping you
>>7757840I meant law, not drawing. I care a lot about getting better a drawing.Law is a pretty dry and unexciting topic. I concur it could be insanely useful to know but yeah. Hard to have a passion for something like that from the get go.
Here. My Creativity Grind. https://youtu.be/1OSWR7xiQLk?si=vavvRzlqwdLXiomdRepeat until you get something you would like to draw again. Think of why it looks as it does. And you have an Intellectual Property. Now get to know it.
>>7757647>I have no visual library, no mind's eye and the opposite of a natural gift 50 Hours is no where near enough time to be saying shit like this, OP. Stop being a dumbass opening threads like a Howie and draw. You're problem is ADHD or some shit. This board isn't going to motivate you. You have to figure that out yourself. You probably didn't go to college, so you need to go learn HOW to learn and focus. Don't start with art. Try something like fitness and nutrition as a base, being active might set your mind right. The meme is 10,000 hours to master anything. 13 months worth of drawing with no breaks or sleep or 2500 4-hour sessions of drawing. If you did that daily, that's ~7 years of practice to master! Cry more when you've actually accomplished a year of drawing consistently for 4 hours a day and dont see any progress. If you can't draw 3-4 hours a day after really trying for maybe a few months, this obviously isn't for you. There are way more productive skills to spend your time learning anyway.
>>7757857Im going to college atm, did pretty okay with hs and i run half a marathon every other day.I also have worked 14 hours a day on some days before so idk. Objectively i can sweat it out and work hard. I just hate not having even a baseline level of skill . Just brootal and grueling.I can do it i think and i'd like to. I'm just very much at a loss on how to go about it exactly as well as how to find a motivation. I dont need to be masterful at it. I'd like to get to "pretty good" if possible
>>7757857>>7757647I read the thread. If you're studying, then maybe you're overstretching here. Nothing you can do about that, but anyone here would advise you not to drop law for art. That would be retarded.
>>7757860Ive just started so its chill. I have 15 hours of classes a week. I do have to learn a lot on my own but i could easily squeeze drawing in just as far as time management goes.I usually default to idly playing through the same vidya ive played through already while listening to podcasts on the side. It's like a lobotomy
>>7757859your notion of 'pretty good' changes as your eye develops in parallel with your skillthere's no point in half-assing life, so I'd recommend droping law or art
>>7757866I hadnt picked art up yet. Below 50 hours of practice total across YEARS.If i pick it up proper and like it and be good at it i'd be down to do it instead of law. Doubt that'll ever be the case though.
>>7757060if that's your drawing then it's not bad...mine on the other hand..
>>7757869It is but it's the last thing i've drawn from April 2023, or so.
>>7757770I like a lot of visual media and i'd like to create facismile of it myself.
>>7757879Instead of mindlessly copying, i recomend analizing what makes you like something visually and studying the form and proportions of that thing in a simplified way, and compare it to real life objects.
>>7757902I have no idea how i'd even begin to do that.
>>7757905Look at an image of an object you want to draw. Can you imagine how it would look like from angles it's not depicted? Can you imagine its individual parts being disassembled and looked at from different angles? Do you consider depth of facial features when drawing a face? Have you analized the same object in real life (like a spoon for example) from different angles to see how its different parts line up? Can you simplify an object into simple low poly forms, rotate it and add complexity again in a different angle? Do you think of looking for specific refs each time you find something you don't have the visual memory to draw?
>>7757915No to any of those but the explanation is very helpful. Thank you.
>>7757948I recommend these two channels, too.https://youtube.com/watch?v=tyIKUNovq4shttps://youtube.com/watch?v=pVePCjlBHOY
