I have an emotional attachment to my art supplies. And it brings me comfort to hold them and use them. I even bring them places knowing they won't be used, like grocery shopping or running errands. They have to be nearby for me to feel at ease. Am I the only one like this? Does anyone else see their art supplies as a sort of comfort item?
>>7898693this is actually incredibly based. I like to hold my pencil and fidget with it while I'm watching stuff but I wish I was as autistic as you. Genuinely.
>>7898693I have a green pentel mechanical pencil that I always keep on my person. Have had it since 2015
>>7898693I keep buying more out of fear that threy will become unavailable. I have at least a gallon of lead white.
>amazing buttery line quality, can go from wispy scratchy hatch marks to deep bold black lines>rollerball so ink always flows out consistently and predictably to the last drop>no mess, no smudge, no jams, no drying time>retractable>can find it literally everywhere>costs like a nickel to refill or replace>fits in your pocketLong have I been searching for youmy sword
>>7899613It can feel bad— people think it’s strange sometimes. Twice on first dates I’ve been made fun of for bringing a sketchbook. I said I loved sketching— and I do, but I needed it there to calm my nerves. I knew that no matter how the date went the sketchbook and fountain pen would know I tried to connect with someone. They never did call back. I wasn’t surprised. I didn’t know how to talk about anything other than drawing and working out. I still don’t. I am without good looks or charm or status, so the drawing is all I have. I know that the god of art is out there to receive my works, and at least there I am seen.
i feel you. i don’t take them anywhere, but when i’m using them, especially the few old mech pencils i’ve used for many years, they feel kind of like really old friends rather than loved but spiritless possessions.
>>7899721Ur mouth by sucking dick..Eddie is a fucking creepy psychopath homeless retard
>>7898693No they piss me off because of their expense. I have like 1kg of oil paints I drag out plein air painting in a drybag which is prob worth a couple hundred, it's obscene.
The term is sentimental value, and it just means you have a heart OP. If you spend thousands of hours using a specific tool to struggle and make something not look like shit, it's only natural you form an attachment. I'd be more concerned if you didn't desu.
