Do you do sequential drawings (drawing one part of the body to build off of) or do you actually visualize and then sketch what you see?
>>7905603it depends on if it's a pose I'm comfortable with drawing or if it's one that I've never drawn before. If I've drawn a pose multiple times I can just draw the contours of the pose I see in my minds eye, if it's a pose I haven't practiced I tend to start with the torso or head and draw the general gesture of the pose I see in my minds eye then construct a mannequin from the gestural sketch
I just try to have a vague idea of the pose and perspective before I start. Sometimes I also just start without really knowing what I want to draw.
>>7905610I would say the latter actually happens more frequently for me but the former is actually my goal. Drawing without really visualizing first often can end up pretty bad.
>>7905603idk. i've always been able to do it. a lot of people around me couldn't. i guess i'm just talented. never had to give it much thought. could do it since i was a kid. sucks for you :/
both. have a general idea for the pose and then work off of the torso, arms or head. Building from the legs is pretty hard to do unless you draw the pelvis first
You should be doing both, but you can obviously emphasize and minimize different parts for simplicity. I like vague construction lines for instance

>>7905603I just play video games. Usually while drunk. Then I draw the figure.
