I spend two years studying Japanese for 6 hours a day and I know this isn't true. Even after all that studying I only barely had enough competence to understand basic Japanese. Granted, if I only focused on listening and speaking rather than writing, I probably would've been able to understand spoken Japanese, but being able to both understand spoken Japanese and written Japanese takes a MINIMUM of 5 consistent years of studying.

Learning how to draw well takes 2-3 years with similar amount of practice. It only takes 5-10 years if you practice incorrectly or skip the fundamentals.

And I spent 3 years doing anki for never more than an hour a day and just playing some of the games from my backlog in Japanese when I felt I could handle them. Can't say I'm fluent yet but understand plenty, both spoken and written.
Most importantly it's straightforward as hell, you can just consume product and add words from it to your mining deck. No "fundies", no studies, no youtube tutorials, no looking at your work frustrated with being unable to comprehend what's wrong with it, some colloquialisms may require a deep google search but that's about it.
