Why is learning to draw as a kid easy mode compared to learning it as an adult?
>>7909410Always a matter of TALENT, not age or wealth.
>>7909410same reason learning languages are easier
>>7909410same reason you can learn a foreign language from playing nintendo as a kid, but not as an adultplasticitylets can cope all they want, reality cares not
>>7909410My life has always been suffering, even as a kid.
>>7909410Because as a kid you simply don't care
>>7909414or reasons*neuroplasticity etc but also kids are not stuck in one world view, have less reservations about the limits of their own ability, and are less self conscious about making mistakes.
>>7909429also its easier to enjoy an activity when you think you're good at it. for kids they happily know they are good at drawing when their scribbly sonic is slightly more recognizable than their classmates. your average beg tier here mogs that kid, but he spends less time drawing because he knows his work doesnt look as good as the pros.
Do kids even want to draw with AI around? They all have that “why learn math when we have calculators?” mindset.
Learning to draw wasnt easy as a kid though. People kept telling me i was good when i wasn't.
i still haven't put any effort into learning to drawi just draw
>>7909455This is the same argument that "kids don't go outside and just be on their Ipads playing fortnite and CODM all day" when I see a bunch of kids outside with electric bikes and fishing rods every day going up to the fast food joints all by themselves in groups.
>>7909410Hubris
>>7909410It isn't. I found it harder as a kid, because I was insecure and didn't want my awful drawings to be mocked.>>7909473People politely ignoring my attempts at drawing is the best response I ever got.
You don't give a shit as a kidYou have infinitely more time as a kidYou're not thinking about the 20 years you wasted when you're a kidThese three things are what crabs refer to as 'talent'
>>7909410Adults are allowed to post on /ic/ so they suffer more
>>7909410> children learningDon't worry goyim. AI will fix that.
I've hit the peak of how good I'm going to be, now the only thing I need is mental energy and motivation. Bothing of which are rare as an adult. Also you can't just draw anything you want if you're talentless, you have to be careful and only draw what's going to be successful.
>>7909410You fell for the meme. I have distinct memories of 8-year-old me drawing and erasing Sonic’s eyes and nose until they looked right. You either gain standards after the age of five or you quit drawing like most people
>finally make time to draw>its also the perfect time to catch up on sleep>never get to draw because sleep is too hoodits over for me. Anytime I think about drawing, I start yawning I can just sleep instead.
>>7909410> learning to draw as a kid is easy modeI dunno anon, most kids start drawing before they can walk and don't particularly improve for shit until they are almost adults. What makes it easy mode is that kids don't give a shit, enjoy the process and thus just draw.
>>7909410they just have more free time, i feel that's it free time, supportive environment whether online or off, less reservations about making "bad" art. if a kid gets really, really into art at like age 10 and they've got an ipad, if they even get a little curious and start studying seriously they'll be beastmode around 16 because that's just 6 years of having like 5 hours every day to study as an adult you have a job, personal hang ups that kept you from learning art when you were younger, and other responsibilities and hobbies.
>>7909410probably because kids have a shit ton of freedom and live in a caring environment that encourages learning as opposed to being an adult where not even god seems to care and everything exists to destroy you>>7909414wrong you can learn Japanese at the same speed as you did your mother tounge you only start speaking coherently at 4-5 and thats how long it took me to learn my 3rd language
>>7909410>>7909803If you want to improve at drawing (or any hobby for that matter) like how kids do, you need to have a career that gives you the same amount of free time that a kid has. Work at a school. You get more time off when compared to the average worker doing literally any other kind of career.>>7909563>>7909473Same. Until I learned practical methods of self-improving as an adult, drawing as a kid sucked.
>>7909410In your particular case (asking questions that have common knowledge answers) it's probably a matter of low IQ.
>>7909586the true gains goblin was /ic/ all along
>>7909868>Work at a schooli cant be within 100 feet of any school, do you have any other recommendations?
>>7909410Kids dont have the conscious to self crit and hold themselves back.
Just take a psychedelic trip (as a Christian I can't recommend that you make a habit out of it because overuse can lead to prelest and demonic influence or in clinical terms detachment from reality from psychosis) and get back that mindset of a child's (but Jesus would like you to just use it once and let the singular experience be a signpost towards your spiritual journey than a crutch you must use over and over again)
>>7909410you probably just autistic retard, and that's okay!
>>7910384Dont speak for jesus devil
learning is easy, just make the time and each experience is going to be new. Its when you become good that drawing is hard as an adult. Now you have a chance to draw turds that waste your precious time. New knowledge is extremely rare to come by and you can even get WORSE if you internalize a bad technique or explore a style that ends up being bad for you.
>>7909410Because if you do something since you are born, you are going to be good at it: and if you happen to have talent too, you will be unmatched.
>>7909414Learning languages as an adult with an internet connection is piss easy compared to drawing. Even moonrunes. A kid can't learn Japanese unless really forced to.
>>7910727I spend two years studying Japanese for 6 hours a day and I know this isn't true. Even after all that studying I only barely had enough competence to understand basic Japanese. Granted, if I only focused on listening and speaking rather than writing, I probably would've been able to understand spoken Japanese, but being able to both understand spoken Japanese and written Japanese takes a MINIMUM of 5 consistent years of studying.Learning how to draw well takes 2-3 years with similar amount of practice. It only takes 5-10 years if you practice incorrectly or skip the fundamentals.
>>7910727no it isn't, you have more distractions with an internet connection. The people in the past are not better at focusing, they just had fewer distractions and more direct benefits to studying things.
>>7909414completely wrong, assuming you're not a total moron you learn way faster as an adult. babies spend their entire existence learning and they suck at it>>7910731you're a retard>>7910759so are you
>>7910762God bless you
>>7910731And I spent 3 years doing anki for never more than an hour a day and just playing some of the games from my backlog in Japanese when I felt I could handle them. Can't say I'm fluent yet but understand plenty, both spoken and written. Most importantly it's straightforward as hell, you can just consume product and add words from it to your mining deck. No "fundies", no studies, no youtube tutorials, no looking at your work frustrated with being unable to comprehend what's wrong with it, some colloquialisms may require a deep google search but that's about it.>>7910759Try not being a dumb fuck maybe, we're not even talking about "people in the past".
>>7910815third world mentality. you believe being smart is the ticket to a good life, so you see being dumb as being morally wrong. So what if I'm dumb? This board is about art and expressing yourself.
>>7910821In this context, being a dumb fuck is a choice. If you're aware of those distractions, you can make a conscious effort to resist, avoid, eliminate them. That's what you brought up, so that's what I commented on, not your ability to learn. But the way you keep making up some strawman nonsense for some reason does confirm you're pretty stupid in general, and I'm afraid I can't advise you how to deal with that.
>>7909410I am more intelligent and mature as an adult, can optimize my learning method to get the best out of practice and can discern what path I should take to reach my goals. As a kid I would probably just divagate for years.
>>7910931The "too old to learn" excuse was only ever a excuse, there's no basis for it, the reason why it sounds factual is because most people are stupid so it sounds true by consensus.
>>7909410One factor is that kids think anything they put down is good and people wil praise them for it. They aren't afraid of making bad art like an adult.Meanwhile, adults know when they're bad and drawing "Looks" easy so when they mess up and have to start from a lower level, they think "I shouldn't be this bad because I'm older. I shouldn't be making art like a kid."As kids get older, many of them that stick with drawing do start to recognize where the holes in their skills are.
>>7910815This is false. The "fundies" of Japanese is the grammar. You can't just grind Anki decks and learn grammar, that's something you have to set deliberate time to. Yes, you can understand most of what's being said by just grinding vocabulary cards, that's true for any language, but you don't actually understand how and why certain words go together because all you know is vocabulary. That's the point. This is the equivalent of just grinding anime faces over and over again for a year and getting really good at JUST drawing anime faces. See PewDiePie and that video of the anon claiming the dude was a "pro." Yes, that works because you're hyperfocusing on a very specific topic, not because the topic in general is easy to learn in a year.>>7910762Shut the fuck up
>>7911080bold of you to assume everyone is retarded like you
>>7911158I know you don't know what you're talking about. Go to any Japanese teacher and they will tell you that it takes 5 years minimum to learn Japanese and up to 10 years if you want to learn it well. Stop making shit up and making drawing to seem harder than fucking brain surgery. You're not that impressive.
>>7911172>10 years to learn japanese wellyep you're a retardfucking embarrassing
>>7911172A toddler already knows "japanese well".
I started drawing seven years ago, on my 70th birthday. It’s been awful.
>>7911080>grammar>that's something you have to set deliberate time toNah you can just read. At first you want to read something like tae kim, sure, but afterwards you'll figure it out naturally. And if there's something that really trips you up you can also just turn it into an anki card.
this board is full of ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE third worlders that see everything like an MMO where you can just grind and level up slowly but surely.
(somehow managed to go full retard and quote myself after rewriting)>>7911295>like an MMO where you can just grind and level up slowly but surelyThese days you just get to level cap ASAP and grind endgame shit to get the best thing until the next update where it's no longer the best thing so you have to do it again.
